Our Yard

Front view of our house after trees and snow falling last night.

We were very fortunate to not have any damage to our house when this tree fell. It missed the garage and outside lights by a few feet. Also, not shown in this picture is another small dogwood tree that was in our landscaping to the right of the front door. It was uprooted and fell forward, luckily not through our dining room window. We only went without electricity from 11:30 last night until 4:00 this morning so we are thankful for power and safety.

Ice, Ice, Ice!

We have gotten lots of ice over the last 24 hours. We bundled up and went outside to see all the ice that has accumulated on the road, houses, and trees. Several of our neighbors have had trees split and fall. The big tree in our front yard is heavy with ice and will probably fall soon.

Making Cupcakes

When Julia and I got home early yesterday, we decided to make cupcakes. Julia helped add ingredients, count the eggs, and most importantly lick the beater! She was pleased with the final product!

Julia found a container for her baby brother's things and just had to climb inside.

Baby Boy Gifts

The Elementary school where I work threw a baby shower for me this week. We got lots of nice gifts including a car seat, hooded towel/washcloths, sleep positioner, gift cards, and a bathtub. Julia has had fun playing in her baby brother's room and with his gifts. She wanted the bathtub so she could give her baby dolls a bath...then she decided that she would get inside herself.
