Giggling Despite Sickness. . .

I love this sweet little laugh and want to preserve the memory of him at this age.

Julia's Valentine's Party

I went to the Valentine's Party in Julia's class. They ate goodies and then sat on the carpet to get their bags filled with Valentine's from their classmates. It's interesting to observe Julia in her classroom. She is so reserved and quiet-so different from her behavior at home. She listens to the teachers and follows every direction. When the kids picked up their Valentine's bags, they were excitedly opening them, pulling out Valentine's, showing them to their teacher, and loudly talking to one another. Julia peeked into her bag and  pulled out one Valentine, looked at it, and gently placed it back into the bag. It took encouragement from me to look at the rest of them. Hopefully with more time, she will blossom at school the way she has at home.

Big Glasses!

Joseph is always begging to wear my glasses so I finally gave them to him. Then Julia put a bow in his hair to complete the look.

Fixing the Car

Sickness has struck our household again. We were pleasantly surprised that we had the first weekend of the year without anyone being sick, then Sunday afternoon Joseph developed a fever again. Early this morning, his fever rose to 103.6 so I made an appointment as soon as the doctor's office opened. Joseph has had a fever for on-and-off for a month now. This was his 4th trip to the Dr. since January 18th. I gave the Dr. a review of his symptoms, medications, and fever highs and lows. He listened and said that he didn't think he had the same infection the entire time. The illness began with a fever virus, next a swollen lymph node in his neck, and then later a respiratory infection with coughing. Now, he has double ear infections. He has been such a tough boy through it all and has played when his fever went down. Today he wanted to go outside to ride in his car so I thought it was good for him to get some sun. The ground was still pretty wet from the snow so he was having a hard time getting traction. He did everything he could do to "fix" his car. After awhile he grew tired and was ready to go inside to sit on the couch.

Birthday Party

 Julia was invited to a birthday party at a gymnastics center. She had so much fun and was in her element. She walked on the balance beams, jumped on the trampoline, and jumped into the foam blocks. She wants to start taking gymnastics again.
