Horse Races

Justin & I took Carter to the chariot horse races for the first time on Saturday while Justin's mom watched Tenley. Carter LOVED it!! He has always kind of been afraid of horses {because he is never around them} but when he watched them race he thought that was the coolest thing ever. They even had a few [foot races] for the kids & surprisingly Carter followed one of his little friends out there & actually did it! Smiling the whole time -even though he took dead last because he didn't even know what he was out there to do- :)!!!My cousins husband Heath races- so Mandy walked us over to the trailer so that Carter could get in the chariot with Rayson, he was a little unsure at first but once he realised what he was standing in he thought it was awesome "to be racing like Heath"...When we very first got there we tried to get Carter to sit on a horse & there was no way he was doing it. But when we were getting in the truck to leave a lady came up & asked Carter if he wanted a ride. We had to force him on at first , then of course he loved it!!! Now he has to tell everyone about "Rayson's dad racing horses & that he rode on a horse for the first time!" He found a bunch of boys to hang around with & do boy stuff - he didn't want to leave...Horse races were an every weekend thing when I was growing up to watch my grandpa & I loved them! We will for sure be hitting all the horse races now.

Cookin' Fish

The other day Carter got all his fish out & said he wanted to cook them...When I came back into the room he had all his fish lined up on the heater vent & went into the kitchen to get a spatula to "flip em'". He is too smart- he even stood up on his box to turn the furnance up so that the vent would actually blow warm air on his fish...Then he got us forks so we could eat a "yummy dinner" with his fish...He has such a great memory & doesn't forget anything especially at his age right now. He is a total sponge!

Crib Buds

Carter always can't wait for Tenley to wake up so he can climb into her crib & "play" with her & surprisingly {even with how crazy he can get} she still loves it!!I think she gets just as excited as he does when she hears his voice coming to get her!

Justin's 26th!

For Justin's 26th birthday, Justin & I went & soaked at Lava on Friday night-it was nice to have an us night & just relax & talk......On Monday (his actual birthday) we didn't do much-Carter made Justin a cute birthday sign & a card-That morning I woke up with a migraine & was throwing up, so luckily my mom was able to rescue the kids & give me a break! {Thanks a ton} Then that night Justin & Carter went & got us dinner & ended up staying & playing arcade games & pool- so we ate a late dinner {thanks to the boys :)} & went to bed. Thanks for all that you do for our family & being such an awesome dad!!

Ice Fishin'

Justin took Carter ice fishing for the first time on Saturday. The first 2 minutes Carter had already stepped in a hole, so Justin had to bring him home & get him changed...Justin was such a good sport, as always, about taking Carter with him-He said Carter had a blast when they were catching fish but if they didn't catch any for a few minutes, he got bored & wanted mom. Carter loves going out with his "friends" {Trev, Dixon, Trav}. He woke up as excited as could be "mom, i'm going ice fishing with daddy & my friends, we need to go buy some snakes" {worms}After Carter had fished & hung out for a few hours, I went & picked him up so Justin could actually fish for awhile without worrying about Carter...He was out before we even hit the highway!!!
Later that night we cooked the fish (they caught about 15 total) & made homemade fries, so good! Then watched the football games...
GO PACKERS!!!

5 Months

Tenley is as fun as could be. She tries to hold her own bottle, knows when you say "baba" what it means & will fake whine til you bring it to her, mimics (spitting bubbles & tries to clap), very spoiled {loves to be held}, goes crazy in the horse jumper, very easy to get to sleep -binki & blanket in her bed & she's out-can just about sit up all by herself...fake cries when you leave the room or leave her alone & she's not asleep, sleeping great through the night still (7 or 8 til 4 then til 7-8), loves anyone who will talk to her -always giving big smiles-, loves food (haven't found one she doesn't like yet), loves to play with her toes & eat them, squealing all the time now -just found her high pitched vocal cords :)can roll over both ways, still lovin' her binki {can pull it out & put it back in by herself}, loves her legs -always wanting to stand up or jump, babbles & talks in bed til you get her, reaches & tries to grab onto anything in sight, out of air gasp is her newest thing she does, always smiling her huge open mouth smile....What a blessing she has been to our family. We love our little princess!!!

Found Toes

The other morning when I was getting Tenley dressed she found her toes for the first time...It was the cutest thing, she would concentrate so hard & then when she finally got ahold of them she'd look up at me & smile like she was all proud of herself!She is constantly playing with them now & has even gotten to where she can get them to her mouth {pretty good for all her chubby rolls:)}

Bumbo Fun

Thanks to Jess & Rusty for letting us use their bumbo!! This chair has been so handy! Tenley can't quite sit up by herself-so it's a life saver so i'm not having to hold her constantly. She always leans & hangs over the right side- but she loves the thing & loves to chuck her toys off the tray!She's getting pretty use to chillin' in it while I do my hair & get ready!:) Sometimes she gets burnt out of watching Dora in the mornings with Carter, just like mom!!!

Sleep Over with Taytor

Taycee came over Friday night & went to the Indians basketball game with us then spent the night. Carter & Tay are pretty much best friends. He loves "Taytor"{that's an understatement} & she is so good about understanding his 2 year oldness:) They had fun at the basketball game running around & buying treats, we made pancake breakfast, danced to music videos & did puzzles Saturday morning... Saturday we went out to my parents house. Carter & Taycee went sledding behind the 4-wheeler with my dad. He was taking them in the ditch & down the hill...Through the window I could see them laughing away. Tenley (slobber face) my mom & I just sat inside where it was warm & talked! Thanks for sleeping over Tay & playing with Carter, you need to come over again soon!!! Your his favorite!!!

First Foods

We gave Teners her first taste of foods on January 5th, (she is 4 months & 3 weeks)... She wasn't so sure about the whole eating thing at first {squash}, she definitely knew when to open her mouth & how to swallow:) She wasn't messy at all- but she pulled some funny faces...Carter wanted to try it & he on the other hand spitted it out all over & said that's "gross , that's for babies". He helped pick out her bib & give her her first bite...He surprisingly isn't wanting to feed her constantly but he loves to help pick out her food & get the spoon & bib-& she loves the food & attention!!

Horse Jumper

Tenley has been jumping in her horse for about a month now but just about a week ago is really getting the hang of it. She jumps like crazy & laughs...Right when she wakes up she is always so happy & she'll sit in there forever just a jumpin' away!She always holds onto the sides like that or grabs onto the little toys & I love it.

Carter's 1st "real" Hair Cut

Carter got his first hair cut from the salon. He wouldn't let us cut it {cause our clippers suck & pull his hair out not cut it pretty much} So we decided it was time to bare down & cut his curls off... We'd been growing it out since August but decided we had had enough of it being long! It was so cute when it was done & curly but once it got messed up {almost always} it was so nappy looking!He sat still the whole time & would just examine every new "tool" Chelsi would grab...When we got home he was so proud of his hair cut & told everyone all about it. "she put the bib on me, & buzzed my hair, & clipped it with the scissors too...vrrmm" He looks so stinkin cute & so much older!!!

New Year's

For New Year's Justin, Wendi, Trevor, Dixon, Justin & I went to Bear Lake to an 80's Party! JP, Wendi & I were the only ones that dressed up. But Wendi & I had a good time getting ready! We won shirts & a hat for being dressed up! Played darts, shot some pool & just hung out! It was a fun night!! Here's to 2011!!!
