NOTD: Color Club Volt of Light

How fab is this? It totally lights up my day :D I did a couple of coats of white first to really get that bright neon color. This has got to be one of my favorite yellows.

This is a really cool black/grey holo. Love it.

Three coats of the Color Club and one coat of the Nivea. Sort of looks like glittery snow.

This was another one of the polishes I used as a base for konad. I really like it by itself too. It's nice to find a white that applies well. It makes me look pretty tan too!

Konad Inspiration Week Day 6: Polka Dot Smiles!

Welcome to Konad Inspiration Week: A week of me pretending I know how to use the plates and polishes from the Konad B kit. I hope this will provide inspiration for the OC Nail Art contest. I'm usually not very adventurous with Konad, but I'm going to make an effort to try some new things this week.

Day 6: "Polka Dot Smiles!" with Konad plate m4, Konad Special Polish in red, and a dotting tool:

Yes! I finally got to use my dotting tool. It's as easy to use as everyone has been saying. I started out this manicure with a base of Color Club Oooooo La La (3 coats), then I added the stamp from Konad plate m4, and finally I added the dots using the dotting tool. I think the result is really cute.

NOTD: Color Club Pure Energy

You might remember me having trouble applying Tangerine Scream from Color Club's Electro Candy collection a little while back. Today I figured I'd try another Electro Candy polish and the same thing happened! The polish was incredibly streaky, didn't stick properly to the nail, and generally pissed me off. I ended up using four coats. I have to admit that this evil polish photographs beautifully. I'll try a different basecoat next time. I seem to be the only person having trouble with these.

NOTD: Color Club Tangerine Scream

This is from Color Club's summer collection. I believe it's called Electro Candy. It's a pretty amazing color, much more neon than it looks in the picture. The shimmer is lovely. Application was seriously weird. It was sort of streaky and didn't stick to the nail properly. After three coats I managed to get a decent result.

Today was a happy mail day. I got my prize from Jamie's contest. Thank you, Jamie :)

NOTD: Color Club Feel The Beat

Ohhhh, pretty. This is such a lovely coppery orangy polish. Very warm. Application was quite good. The picture is three coats.

NOTD: Color Club Fashion Addict

Color Club have a couple of really pretty holos in their spring collections. This one is from the Catwalk Queen Collection. It applied really well in two smooth coats. It reminds me a little of Nfu-Oh #63 and #64, but the Nfu-Ohs are brighter.

Haul from the US

There are a lot of polish brands we don't get here in Denmark. It might seem weird, but I drool over Covergirl and Revlon when I visit a drugstore in the US! One of the nail polish brands that's not available here is Sinful. I've been lemming Sinful polishes forever. Before christmas I was able to get a kind lady in the US to make a custom purchase and send some Sinful polishes my way, and here they are:

#218 Thimbleberry, #260 Volcanic, #380 Under The Star, #23 Mystery, #50 Buster's Brown, #251 Jasmine Jazz, #61 Purple Blue Glitter, #19 Strip Poker, #39 Fabulous Red.
