New Year's Eve

We attended my aunt and uncle's annual, and most fabulous, New Year's Eve party this year. We go every year because it is always the place to be! With a phenomenal dinner of prime rib, crab, Yorkshire pudding, and the most fattening mashed potatoes you've ever tasted, it is a great way to ring in the new year. They also do a chocolate fountain, but, sadly, we never get to stay late enough to enjoy it.

There is always a Rock Band tour going strong in the basement. Armadillo surprised me this year by performing the vocals. He got really into it. Now, usually Armadillo has a very nice singing voice, but he sure does like to rock, and it sounds nothing like it does in Sacrament meeting! I laughed so hard I cried.

We had so much fun playing games and catching up with our relatives. Scooter and Mimi spent the whole night playing with the bigger cousins and having a blast. Thanks for the fun party D&L!

The Princess and the Frog

We took the kids to see the movie over our Christmas break. It was Mimi's first movie in the theater and she LOVED it! She was very concerned with all the people sitting behind her and wanted to start up conversations with them. She got a bit restless a few times, but for the most part was totally engrossed in the movie. She thought the blond girl in the movie was Tinkerbell and any time she was on the screen she shouted it out to the theater.

Scooter did his best to be a good example to Mimi of how one behaves at the theater. He did spend quite a bit of time, however, checking out where the picture on the screen comes from. That kid's always thinking!

We had an "Ugly Sweater" contest at our family Christmas Eve party. Mookie and I tied for second place. My sweater was a lovely vision of Thanksgiving dinner, and Mookie's was, well, UGLY!
My favorite part of the evening was when the kids all gathered around Great Grandpa's knee and listened as he read them a story.
Christmas morning. Scooter was so worried that Santa wouldn't come, or that he would find a lump of coal in his stocking, so he was extra excited in the morning to see the presents under the tree.
Mimi had a Tinkerbell Christmas. She got so many little dolls that we had to put them in a purse because she insists on carrying them around everywhere she goes.Scooter loves this little fire truck from Hootie and Munch.
Mimi loves her new little kitchen. She is constantly whipping up gourmet meals to share with everyone in the family.
Scooter has been wanting this garbage truck for months now. He is always "taking out the garbage" for us.

Another Tinkerbell from Nina. Mimi calls this her "big, big Tinkerbell" and she also totes this along everywhere she goes.
We had an excellent Christmas this year!

Yea! We're back online. We just had our cable and Internet hooked up at our new home. Up until this point we have been relying on our phones and family's computers. So you can imagine, it has been hard to do any kind of blogging whatsoever. But now we're connected! So, start watching out for loads of new posts. I have all of Christmas to catch up on and then lots going on in our life these days to blog about.
