Us Against the World

I don't mind getting pictures texted to me at 6:30 in the morning when they are of me with a cat head and lots of cats. How great is this? I hate cats. I love this picture. (This masterpiece was made possible by McKenna and the app CatPaint. Go buy it. You won't regret it.)

Pull My Heart Away

Three and a half is probably my favorite age. I told Leah to stop growing up and she told me she has to get bigger. I have the funniest conversations with her and I love that she can communicate so well now. I adore her and love spending time together.

We Are Young

I remember burning my first CD when I was a sophomore in high school. That is when I started being able to create personalized soundtracks to in my life. I started making a mix about 4 times a year with each season. Then iTunes came around and I didn't have to burn CDs, but could just make playlists instead. Many years later, I still keep up with my seasonal playlist of all the music I listened to during those couple months. I love it because I can listen to old playlists and instantly go back to that season in my life. Music has defined so many people, events and times for me.

I also enjoy sharing my music with people. I decided to do a little mix of my favorite songs from 2011 to give to some friends (or whoever else wants them) for Christmas. I get excited for them to make connections with the songs that I love and have had on repeat all year. This is what I have been working on this afternoon.

We Move Lightly

My style is very simple and easy. When I find a shirt I like, I usually buy it in multiple colors. Target has these V-neck tees and they are only $6. I love them! For the last few months, every time I go there I buy a couple more because they keep coming out with more colors. I now have 10 of them and I wear them all the time. What's so wrong about that? At least I am branching out with new colors.

Dead Hearts

I am excited about the new book club I am in. It's my first real one that I have been a part of. I now have motivation to read a book a month (besides all the lovely textbooks I get to read for school) and also get to step out of my comfort zone to meet new, cool people that I wouldn't normally have a chance to socialize with. I have gone twice and really enjoy it so far!

A Thousand Years

Sometimes I feel disconnected from my life, almost as if it is moving forward without me and I am just standing there watching it from the outside. It feels like I become an observer of my own life without all the normal emotions attached to it. It is a strange, dreamlike feeling that I have every once in awhile for a few days. I am not sure what causes it or what makes it go away. It is a good opportunity for me to reflect on my life and see what I would like to change and what I would like to do better.

Sometimes I don't know if it's possible to be a hopeless romantic and a realist. I am very much both of these and they kind of battle back and forth in my heart.

Sometimes I try to be cool and take emo pictures of myself just like the high school kids do.

Calendar Girl

I love when I go to a supposed ugly sweater activity at church and I am literally the only one dressed up. Except one other girl, but her sweater was actually cute minus the shoulder pads. I even had a pine cone necklace and matching earrings. Dressing up is fun. Being the only one dressed up isn't as fun.

Can't help falling in love

I wish I was a runner and loved running. I actually hate it. I want to love it. I want to feel that "high" that runners talk about. I don't know that feeling but I crave it. I think I will start to like it more by actually doing it. I think this will be my new focus for awhile.

Women's Health magazine had a good beginners program this month. It is only 3 days a week.
You start and end each run with a 5 minute walk.

Week 1: Run 2 min, walk 3 min; repeat 6 times
Week 2: Run 3 min, walk 3 min; repeat 5 times
Week 3: Run 5 min, walk 2 min; repeat 4 times
Week 4: Run 7 min, walk 3 min; repeat 3 times
Week 5: Run 8 min, walk 2 min; repeat 3 times
Week 6: Run 9 min, walk 1 min; repeat 3 times
Week 7: Run 30 minutes

maybe you would've been something i'd be good at

I don't really have any photos to document my life lately. I don't think to take pictures and I don't have a good camera. I was looking through iPhoto and these are the only ones I have of me from the last few months. It's pathetic.

This is from when I was deathly sick a few weeks ago. I couldn't stop throwing up. It was bad. I'm never sick. The last time was May 2005. I took this picture and sent it to people so they would feel bad for me. Can you even see me or am I too blended in to the white wall? Gross.

These are the only two pictures from my Thanksgiving in Logandale. The first one I have a double chin and the second one my eyes look too far apart and uneven. Lovely.

This is from a rooftop/fire pit/hot cocoa game night I hosted for some friends. It turned out to be a perfect evening.
So, that's basically all I have to show for my life lately. My manager told me today that I worked more hours this pay period than anyone else in our office. Work has been busy. Plus, I have finals coming up for my 3 classes. I am definitely not bored. I'm too curious to ever be bored.

I need to take more pictures.
