Good ole Dean

Dean (my step-dad) informed me today that he's only been in a blog post once. So here you go Dean.

Dean came into the picture when I was 8. My first impression of him was a "cowboy" because of his jeans and boots. My mom was head over heels about him and as a 8 year old, that was SICKENING!!! :-) Dean is a funny fellow. He'll take the credit for all my "good" qualities but deny any part in my "bad" qualities. Dean has taught me a lot. He's been the 2nd father in my life. He's ruff on the outside but soft on the inside (it's a rare glimpse at that side although he's become softer in his old age). You know Dean likes you if he makes fun of you/ teases you. Anyways, he's a pretty good guy. He's quite the talented woodworker. He can build anything, and that's not an exaggeration. He's helped Travis and I on MANY occasions with home projects. The biggest include painting and helping building our pergola. He loves little Dougie although he "complains" every time he sees him that Douglas threw out his shoulder. Whatever!! So here you go Dean, a post completely about you!!

New Blog

I started a scrap blog. My goal is to get more involved with digi-scrapping so I entered into Stand Up & Scrap contest. Hopefully this blog will get me motivated. It can always be accessed by the top link under "Friends" links called "My scrap blog".

Home Improvements

Well we finally got new carpet. Anyone who saw our old carpet can testify to it's weirdness. It was a funky berber type and stained and just annoying (to me at least). After the carpet was placed we finally hung our new grandfather clock (thanks Dee) and redid our main wall in our living room. I bought a frame set that showed a design but it didn't quite work so Travis laid out this graph paper and placed the frames where we wanted, measured them, traced them and then put the graph paper on the wall and put the nails through so that it would be perfect. He did alot of work. All I had to do was keep Douglas out of the way (which was no small task).

Scrapbook

I just finished this page for Lifts with a Twist and wanted to share! This picture was taken last Sunday and he just looked like a little pro golfer in his polo and plaid shorts. I just love this kid!
