We were getting a little shaggy so Daddy whipped out his clippers and trimmed the boys up.

Wedding Dress

As we've been shifting our rooms it's been fun to pull out old treasures. The boys got a kick out of Danny's guitar and it was special to look at my great-grandmother's quilt, our wedding planning binder and my wedding dress. 

A few years ago Bailey tried it on so we repeated the photo shoot. Someday way too soon she will actually fit into my beautiful dress. The six year old version of her is pretty spectacular so we can't wait to see the woman that she will grow into! 

Mother's Day

Thanks to Danny and the kids I had a pretty spectacular day! It's pretty hard to beat waking up for church to fully dressed kids with big smiles carrying coffee and cinnamon toast.

They made big signs for me in the hall and decorated with poms (big points here for Daddy!).

My gift took a little team work to figure out. Daddy wrote letters on balloons and we had to put the puzzle together before the balloons rolled away. It spelled out "Happy Mother's Day Bike." Yeah - a new bike for Mommy!!!

After church we went to Clark's corner with Boppa and Grandma Lindy for a delicious brunch.

Our next stop was the River Cats for a Sunday afternoon baseball game. Boppa and Grandma Lindy wanted to make sure Fletcher could have some popcorn at the game so they brought him his own supply. I think he's all set for quite a while! Apparently Boppa bought six bags for our upcoming trip to San Diego so the moral of the story is if the world ever ends make your way to Lodi because G'funk is fully stocked (36 cans of tuna, check!)

The game was awesome. We had the best time relaxing in the sunshine and enjoying all American baseball!

We cheered for number 37 after each warm up and he threw us two balls which was VERY exciting for the boys! Danny almost caught a t-shirt for Bailey but it got knocked and went to the row behind us. Still, we counted ourselves lucky to walk away with two balls!

A baseball game was considered safe for gum chewing so Bailey got to practice her bubble blowing. 

After the game the kids and I got to run the bases (a special privileges for Mom's since it was Mother's Day).

The best part of the day was looking through the cards that the kids made me at school and at home. I absolutely LOVE their artwork and reading their observations about Mommy.

I'm so thankful for Danny who is a great partner and a great example to our children. I appreciate him going the extra mile to show the kids that it's important to celebrate Mommy. Being a Mom to Fletcher, Bailey and Parker is truly one of the greatest JOYS of my life and I thank God for giving me this precious gift.

The Writing Center

Every Friday Mrs. Cherry lets the children visit "stations" for a few minutes of free play. Bailey always chooses computers, Parker rotates between building and computers and Fletcher usually heads for the writing center. 

Each week I look forward to opening up Fletcher's backpack to see what he's make at the writing center. Danny and I LOVE his sweet notes and they are taped up all over our house. I even laminated his "Bukmrks" for us to use in our Bibles. 

These sweet notes touch our hearts and are the bests gifts ever! 

Might Machines

We're still livin' up the festivals and free events around here because that's what we Kapics do!

I found a cool event in Rancho Cordova called the Mighty Machines and it was perfect for a Saturday afternoon.

The event had every type of truck or vehicle that a child could want to touch - boat, lawn mower, crane, garbage truck, school bus, ambulance, fire truck, tow truck, helicopter, police car, motorcycle, maintenance cart, book mobile and so much more!

Blowing the horn - those poor recycle tuck guys had to hear it over and over all morning!

By far the favorite event of the day was giving the Segway a try!

They were SOOOO fun and surprisingly easy to use. We didn't get a picture of Daddy but he was out there rolling around with the best of them! The volunteers said the boys had exceptional balance and hand-eye coordination and would make great surfers and pilots. That brought a smile to their faces! We decided that after our trial runs we could all apply to be waiters in Mexico (at least at the Grand Mayan where they ride Segways!).

As we drove away and returned home to our usual list of projects Danny and I agreed that we're glad we've taken time to go to such events. Our children are now six and in another year or two they will age out of these types of actives and we'll be onto the next thing. At least we can say that we've done it all, or almost all!
