Our Mansfield ThiotsRicky and Becky left last weekend for a magical week in Hawaii with two other couples. They've been looking forward to this getaway for a while. Jim and Diane, Becky's parents came from Florida to take care of those darling girls of there's. They've had a really good time but have missed the girls and are happy to come home. That's the best part of leaving, coming back home again! It was homecoming at Brooklyns school a couple of weeks ago. Becky is awesome at making mums and Brooklyn was amazing at wearing it! What fun!!!!
Our Medford Granges
October in Medford is being filled with getting ready for Halloween. What fun with six littles who are excited to dress up and have been making plans. They are loving their skeleton PJ's that Glow in the dark. I love this amazing seven layer dip that Tatia and Jake made and turned into a halloween treat to take to a halloween party. Our Ewan celebrated his 11th Birthday this past Monday. I wish we had all been there to celebrate with him, but this picture was taken in May. Our family now has 3 11 year olds. Callum, Penny and now Ewan! What a fun age!
Charlie joined a new club this week. I would NOT recommend this club and I'm sure he feels the very same way. Last Saturday afternoon he was jumping down his stairs and had a bad landing. He has a tibial plateau fracture in his right leg. OUCH! After several hours of surgery, the doctor was able to put his leg back together with some screws, and rods and plates. It's going to be a bit of a recovery for him. You've got this Charlie!

He can loosen the splint to get a bit of relief. It's hard sleeping with a broken leg. Jake told Charlie he had a very similar break when he was in high school. No more jumping down the stairs Charlie! This weekend was homecoming at Keelie's high school. Oh my goodness, when did my little Keelie grown up. You look so pretty Keelie! I'm so glad you had a fun time! .jpg)

Our Orem Thiots
Pierce and Stacy took the kids to the pumpkin patch and corn field maze and they lost Adelaide. If you look really close, you will find her hiding in the corn field. So fun!

To honor Charlie, they put on their skeleton PJ's and Pierce marked the spot where Charlies leg is broken. OUCH! You guys have nice bones, no jumping down stairs please!
Our Upstairs Thiots
Saturday morning, Elinor and Sky stopped by a pumpkin patch and selected five pumpkins. They are going to carve them on separate days.
The first pumpkin to carve Elie wanted a Unicorn and she also wanted to make Pumpkin Soup. She had so much fun making pumpkin soup. She needed a piece of paper to write down the recipe so she wouldn't leave out any important ingredients.
2 cups of pumpkin seeds, lots of pumpkin mushy flesh, 3 carrots, 2 cherrie tomatoes, a bit of cilantro, lots of salt and pepper and lots of stirring. Oh she had so much fun making pumpkin soup. When she served it up for Skyler to sample, it was a HIT!
The Unicorn turned out fantastic and so we found a candle to put inside of him and after Elie had gone home, Skyler lit the candle and LOOK!
It's the prettiest glowing Unicorn ever! What a very fun Saturday. Elie and Sky stopped at Six Flags over Texas for a couple of hours before Elie went back to her Mama's. A green witch happy meal hit the spot for dinner. FUN DAY!
We Plano Thiots
Last Saturday was the Great Family Search in Plano Texas. I was invited to present a class on How to write your life story. My friend Debra Hadfield taught this class 3 years ago and shared her fabulous poster with me. It was a fun, but frightening experience all what October should be. YIKES!
I've been putting up some fall and Halloween decorations. I loved that Tatia had bats at her house and searched target for bats, but they were out. Tatia found the template and I was able to cut my own bats. It's kind of fun to have a bit of spookie in our house.

Several years ago, in the fall, my mom took a fall and broke her pelvis. We thought we were so clever to make her cards with autumn trees and the sweet saying, "we hope your autumn is better than your fall" Miss Elie loved decorating this tree for Uncle Charlie and we mailed him this fun card. Tatia had the funnest paint markers for her rock painting class at the primary activity. They make great autumn leaves too. Thanks T!
Back in 1988-1990, our family had a Goblin that would come and do good deeds for our family during the year and especially in October. It was years before I finally figured out just who that sneaky Goblin was. When I was at Tatia's she put out her stack of Halloween books and one of them was from our Goblin. We had such fun reading it. It's about a little girl named Elinor.
Tatia and her kids were kind enough to let me borrow it and bring it home to share with our Elinor.
You must read it in a dark room with a flash light and guess what, there are things on the page that glow in the dark. Oh what fun! Thank you Goblin 32 year later! We love it!
A special friend passed away last week and her funeral service was on Saturday. Julie had painted 700 watercolor paintings of birds and had them placed on each seat in the chapel. I loved this beautiful Robin on my seat. What a dear dear sister.
We had Dick home for 30 hours this weekend. He has been in Beaumont, Texas for the majoritiy of the month and came home Saturday night and left at 4:30 this morning. We are praying that he can resolve all the tricky little snags that are in the conversion and be home by Thursday night. Fingers and toes all crossed. It was great to see you Dick!
