I know that animals die and I am alright with that. However, I think I am the one to blame for this tragedy. While noticing the dead bird on the bottom of the cage, I also noticed the lack of water in the water dish. Crikey! No wonder heaven is not sending me any babies. I am pretty sure God thinks I may neglect them!

Poor Poophead
I had just got home from work on Tuesday night when I noticed that something was not right. I usually enter the house and beautifully sing, or scream (you pick), "Tweet, Tweet!" Our cute little birds are pretty good at talking
back to me and I enjoy humoring myself as well. Tuesday, however, there was only one bird singing praises to me. That was the bird that my son affectionately named Stinker. It seems that Poophead, my son named him too, died sometime during the day. I found him at the bottom of the bird cage. Stinker was throwing a stink fit too(Hence the clever name and the fact that he bit my husband when we first brought him home!). We quickly buried Poophead in the backyard and Stinker seemed to calm down.

Erda Nights
Our neighbors invited us to go to the legendary Erda Drive-In last night. Even though it was a work night (kind of like a school night, but much worse!), we usually have to bribe others to invite us places, so we quickly agreed. They were showing Kung-Fu Panda and Indiana Jones. If we didnt have Jaxon in our lives, I am pretty sure that I would ban the drive in all together, however, he loved it. I thought that what I actually caught of Kung Fu Panda was hilarious. I loved the movies high kicks, fat jokes and cute, cuddly jungle animals. Indiana Jones was a different story. I am sure that the whole parking lot was tired of the fat, white chick cracking up by the end of the first half. I could not help it. I thought it was ridicously lame. I can not, for the life of me, remember the other Indie films being this lousy, however, I can not recall watching an Indiana Jones film in the last decade. I thought the human eating ants were weird, the alien skull ridiculous and the overall ability to sustain any form of life while jumping between moving vehicles annoying. I did however enjoy seeing Sam Witwicky, for the first time in six months, without a cigarette in his mouth.

Oh yeah, the popcorn is still stuck in some of my teeth!

2 Worlds 2 Voices Tour
Even though I am flat broke and trying as hard as I can to make it through the next year, with out having to claim bankruptcy on my husbands business, I still see no reason why anyone would pass up an opportunity to attend the 2 Worlds 2 Voices Tour. It is my goal to raise roughly fifty dollars to attend this masterpiece. My family will go hungry, my bills will be left unpaid and my lawn will remain dead, however, Reba and I are one and I can not let her down. The last time I saw Reba in concert, she came out onto stage in an airplane. An AIRPLANE people.
I better go. I need to set up my lemonade stand in the front yard as soon as possible!

Hip Hip Hooray!

Everyone raise your arms in the air and shout with me, "Woot, Woot!" I did it. I finally graduated from Primary! Yesterday, I was called as the Beehive Advisor. I went from boogers and biting to first loves and rebellion. YES!

Eating On A Budget #2
Last night, while rummaging through my fridge, looking for something to feed the hungry mouths that hang around my kitchen, I remembered the delicious pork left over from Cafe Rio night at the cabin. We were out of moola and tortillas. I was lost. Then I found this little gem.....
Dinner last night was magnificent and it cost me nothing! I had all the ingredients in my pantry(except the water!) I wanted to add this to my eating on a budget post, because I will definatley use it again!
Tortillas via T-Dawg

4 cups flour
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 ½ cups hot water
1/4 cup shortening
1 tsp salt
1 tsp baking powder
1 ½ cups hot water
1/4 cup shortening
Mix dry ingredients. Cut in shortening. Add water. Break into
balls and roll into thin circles. Cook on flat griddle or fry pan until
cooked on both sides. Cover with a towel once cooked to keep soft.

Mary Kay = PAIN

Once upon a time, there a young girl named T-dawg. She was not very popular and did not really care to be. She wore make up only on certain occasions and could not understand why some people swam in it. In college, one of her roommates was stopped by a Mary Kay consultant on campus and asked if her and her roommates would be interested in a free makeover. Naturally, the roommate accepted and together they tackled the three hundred and forty two steps up to the dorm in the sky. Once there, T-dawg was invited to join in on the fun and she hestitantly accepted. After applying all of the marvelous make-up, gobbling up the free samples and shoving the consultant out the door with no buyers, T-dawg ran to the bathroom to wash it off. Apparently, it was not quick enough. Her skin broke out in a nasty, itchy rash.
Fast forward to eight years later.......T-dawg was now married with an infant at home. Her nicest neighbor has just signed up to be a Mary Kay consultant and she hesitantly accepted the offer of a free makeover, only this time, it had to be their special hypo allergenic TimeWise crap. The sweet neighbor came over and practiced her new trade for a few minutes, while T-dawg, being the kind neighbor that she is, applied the hypo-allergenic make-up. After the neighbor left the premises, T-dawg once again, hurried to remove it. The next day, her lips were the size of Jupiter with big cold sore type owies. The poor T-dawg hoped that her lips would just fall off.
Fast forward to 6/28/2008 at the Richardson Family Reunion.....T-dawg is making small talk and mingling with mostly female members of the family and finds out that one cousin is a consultant for Mary Kay. After telling the cousin, we wil call her A-sweet, all of her horror stories, A-sweet decides she will give T-dawg some free samples of the mascara, because we all know that mascara is non threatening. All you do is apply it on your eyes to give you the look of long, thick and lucious lashes. T-dawg gratefully accepts the make-up and shoves into her pocket. A few days later while preparing for a rodeo, T-Dawg found the mascara in her make-up bag and thought. "What the heck? Why not?" and she idiotically applied the mascara.
Finally fast forward today, 7/08/2008.......Rumor on the street is that T-Dawg has a sty on her eye lid and it is giving her a huge headache and causing her to not focus on her tasks at hand.
WHY ON EARTH DID I FALL VICTIM TO THE MARY KAY FRANCHISE AGAIN?

Two Weeks of Haze
Over the fourth of July, we went to my families cabin in Timberlakes, outside of Heber.
We started off the weekend by heading to Jordanelle to do some water acrobatics. Well, we really only wake boarded and rode on tubes, but if you saw how some flew off the tubes, you would have been impressed. On Saturday, we went for a four wheeler ride in the beautiful National Forest above the cabin.
We rode through awesome tunnels of green foliage, streams of rushing water and paths of wild flowers only to discover after an hour that we were on private property and we had better get our butts off it or else........
So we went Mach 10 on our bikes and loaded everything up. We drove a little higher into the forest and ate a packed lunch and then headed back. That night we went to the Oakley rodeo. There is no rodeo like an Oakley rodeo. If you have been to the Days of 47 Rodeo, I am sorry, but you are just not cowboy!
In Oakley, there is no PETA promoting vegan carrying signs. There is no fake cowboy sporting "Spick Boots." There is no one yelling at you to take off your cowboy hat because it is in their way.
There is, however, people on their feet cheering loudly. There are numerous ladies on horses, galloping around the arena each with an american flag. There are ladies the age of my grandma with sequined cowboy hats yelling and cheering on the cowboys. And last, but definately not least, there are bottled waters sold at the concession stands in the shape of a bladder. YES!!!
After the rodeo, we watched fireworks and then headed back to the cabin. We left Sunday afternoon, tired and worn out, but had a lot of fun and can't wait for this time again next year!

Modesty, In All Its Glory!
When Darrel and I were in Ohio last year, we stayed at a hotel that was built around the swimming pool. This meant that the pool was in the center of three huge hotel room towers. It was a really nice hotel, with a lovely swimming pool. One night we decided to go for a swim. Darrel sat in the hot tub with one of his classmates and I decided to swim laps in the big pool. It was later in the evening, so we were the only ones in the pool area. After completing a few laps, I stood up only to realize that the right side of my chest was fully exposed not only to my husbands classmate, but all the other visitors of the hotel. Luckily, my husband and his pal were engrossed in tool talk and missed the entire show, however, I am afraid that I may unknowingly have become a youtube star.
I decided that day that I needed to put purchasing a new swimsuit towards the top of my to do list since the one I have is the one I wore when I was in high school. I do not wear a suit that often, so I am now trying to conquer that task ten months later. I wanted to find one that would fit on a curvy body and didnt have leg holes that reach clear to your armpit. I typed Modest Swimsuits into google search and this is what I found.....

Do you think it is even possible to swim in these atrocities? I kept diligently seraching though and found a few on Lime Ricki that I love. I wonder how many of these suits shown above have actually sold and if they did I am curious to know whether or not the purchasers live in the twin cities of Colorado City and Hilldale?
