Christmas Lights!

We went to the Riverwalk for Family Night before I left for Utah to see the lights and Christmas trees. We had to laugh a little at all the Texans wearing their ear muffs, scarfs, and coats. It was funny to hear them complain about how cold it was as they passed by, especially when we were discussing how nice it was to only need a light jacket, and I was even wearing open toed shoes! The Riverwalk was beautiful, but the lights weren't quite as impressive as the Temple Square lights. While the Riverwalk will be a good substitute for the years we aren't able to come home for Christmas, Temple Square will always be on the list for Christmases in Utah! This year we were lucky enough to do both! Here are some pictures of the Riverwalk first, then Temple Square. You can tell where we are based on how much clothing we are wearing. :)

I Wanna Be Like Daddy

Santa brought Boston a basketball hoop this year!

Boston was so excited he couldn't even wait for daddy to put it together before he started putting the ball through the hoop!

Here's the mini Scott! We got Boston started a few years earlier though. He couldn't wait any longer for that hoop!

Like father like son. Looks like Boston got his dad's skinny legs! Ha ha. Love it.

Boston was blessed with some of his dad's athletic ability too! We were impressed with his natural skills!

The hoop is a little too tall for Boston, so he likes to shoot from the crib to give him an extra boost.

That way he can slam dunk it!

Boston and Scott had a blast playing ball together all morning the day he got his hoop. Scott was teaching him all the basketball lingo. It was so cute.

I love the look on Boston's face as he watches Scott put the ball in the hoop. He thinks his dad's the coolest.

Boston's always been a momma's boy, but I think I just took a back seat!

Boston's Dream Come True

One of Boston's first words was Elmo, and that's saying something for a kid who only said a handful of recognizable words for the first 2o months of his life. For awhile there he was saying Elmo more than Mama. The kid loves Elmo. I think we've seen almost every Elmo movie our local library owns at least five times.

When we heard that Elmo would be coming to Sea World for a special Christmas show, we knew we had to take Boston. He not only got to watch Elmo in person, but he also got to HUG Elmo!

We waited in line after the show to meet Elmo. We were the first ones in line, and I thought Boston was going to explode while he waited for permission to go up on stage. As soon as he got the OK he took off running right to Elmo. It was adorable.

He was glowing the rest of the night and couldn't stop talking about meeting Elmo. On the way out of Sea World he was telling anyone that would listen as we walked by about meeting Elmo, except the only recognizable word in his story was Elmo. It sounded like this, "Adhajd ajhdouwyruwgrb akiwuowh dvasdj ELMO!!" It was really cute.

We also got to watch a 4-D Polar Express video while we were there. 4-D means that in addition to 3-D, there are other special effects such as vibrating seats, air blowing, and fake snow.

Meeting Santa was also on the list for the holiday celebrations at Sea World. They wouldn't let us take any pictures with our camera when Boston met Santa because they want people to buy theirs, so we just got some pictures with Santa's cowgirl elves. Boston was being such a flirt with all the elves.

We had this little Christmas celebration back in November during our Thanksgiving break since we would be in Utah during the December celebrations. We loved all the Christmas shows and activities at Sea World, especially the sea lion one! But the best by far was seeing Boston's face light up when he hugged Elmo!
