Thanksgiving Day

We started Thanksgiving day with a fun turkey trot! 

Jill and her girls stayed home because we had such a long day at Six Flags the day before. 

Scott watched Brody while Landon, me, Boston, and Tanner ran the 4 mile turkey trot. 

Boston and Tanner did awesome!! I could not believe Boston ran the entire 4 miles! I tried to talk him out of it, but he was determined to keep up with the big kids, and he did!! 

After the race we came home to get ready for our Thanksgiving day feast. We had invited two families from our ward to join us as well.

Everything was delicious! We had mashed potatoes and gravy, sweet potatoes, salad, banana bread, turkey, ham, fruit salad, jello salad, rolls, cornbread stuffing, and green beans. I'm sure I forgot something in there. We also had pumpkin pie, and a delicious chocolate peppermint cake.

 It was one of our favorite Thanksgivings yet. It was so fun to have family here for our first time on Thanksgiving. We feel so blessed to have such wonderful family and friends to spend the holidays with!

Thanksgiving Break Fun

We got a special treat this Thanksgiving and had some family come visit us on a spur of the moment decision! We had some extra Six Flags tickets, so I text Scott's sister who lives in Missouri and asked if they wanted to come visit us over Thanksgiving break. I was so excited that they decided to make the 14 hour drive last minute! 

Since we were going to be gone half of December in Utah, I decided to put our Christmas decorations up before Thanksgiving. 

We got the house all ready for our visitors, and then watched a midnight showing of Serendipity while we waited for them to get here. They had some care trouble along the way, so it delayed their arrival time by a few hours. 

Boston and Brody were so excited to have cousins staying with us for the week! 

We went to the Bass Pro Shop to do Santa's Wonderland one night, but didn't actually see Santa because the line was too long.

We had fun getting a few pictures and doing some of the crafts and activities instead.

The rain didn't stop us from still having fun at Six Flags, but it did help keep most of the crowds away.

We were able to see Santa at Six Flags, and Brody was not a fan.

Boston had been dying to play a game at Six Flags all day, so we finally stopped to play one on our way out. The kids all won a prize, and Boston and Tanner got some cool super hero hats.

It was a fun day, and we were so glad the Kirks were able to come use our extra Six Flags tickets with us!
