Enjoy the moment
One sunny afternoon Sam, Isabella, and I stopped by the fountain in Old Town. Sam, as usual, was giving me "I'm annoyed that you're taking pictures of me" looks. Being that it felt like 100 degrees, I decided to let them stick their feet in. It took about 5 seconds to go from cute dry kids to...
...this. It was the time of their lives, until ...
we got kicked out of the fountain. I wasn't lying when I told the guy who kicked us out that we didn't see the sign. Good thing I hadn't seen the sign that said "no wading or swimming" a few feet away because this spontaneous moment was so much fun.
Sam: I want to put that man in jail. I don't want to follow the rules!
Me: Yes, Sam, following the rules isn't fun sometimes. But wasn't that fun?
Sam: I want to go back in the fountain! (yelling and crying)

Favorite part
Favorite part of my trip to Palmyra this weekend: the smell, feel, quietness, and light in the Sacred Grove. The Pageant wasn't so bad either.
Favorite part of church today: our ward choir. they rock.
Favorite part of work this week: when Isabella and Sam both fell asleep. Love when that happens. Swimming was fun too.
Favorite you tube video this week: BYU New Spice. Whoever made this commercial should get an A. If you watch it enough times you notice the guy lying on the floor whose job must have been to pull down the tree.

on my mind tonight
It's nice to have the kind of friends where you can just lay on the couch and talk about nothing.
I'm permanently addicted to ice cream... always have been, always will be. Walking around Harper's ferry what do I want? ice cream. Walking around jackson hole what do I want? Ice Cream. Break up? Ice cream. Celebration? Ice cream.
It's also nice to have mission friends so that when you can talk about the dream that actually happened, they understand.
Crossing another destination off my list next weekend: Palmyra. Still got a few more up my sleeve: Colonial Williamsburg, Schaffer Farms, Shenandoah... someday New England...some some day China, Venice. Tossing around the idea of moving to Boston next year. We all know it's impossible to plan that far ahead effectively though.
My bishop always talks way past the time he should stop talking. Drives. me. crazy. Just trust me that if you're supposed to stop at 5 til, anything you say past 4 til will be drowned out by the annoyed thoughts running through my head... and which will progressively become louder as you keep talking until 5 after.
Love wearing my new jeans. worth the price my Mom couldn't believe.
Still miss him. progressively less though, which is how it should be.
Watched Pride and Prejudice last night. All the scenes where the sisters tell secrets in bed made me miss Charity a lot. The scene where the the 27 year old settles for the freaky parson guy made me grateful that I can support myself and not feel desperate (at least not too often)
the gym is calling my name. I think I'm going to cave and let them take $40/month again soon. While working out doesn't make me skinnier, it makes me happier and healthier.
I'm a blanket hog. who knew?

patriotic weekend
So I took a picture hiatus this weekend... not that there wasn't plenty of fun. I went camping in Ohiopyle State park with friends. Besides getting lost and trying to sleep while really cold, it was really fun. Campfire, stars, hikes along the river, vine swinging, waterfalls, and PB & J picnics made for some good times.
That night I throughly enjoyed sidewalk firework, BBQ, and guitar hero.
After some much need sleep and church in the morning, I went down to the National Mall to see the fireworks. Lots of walking, card games, Navy Band concert and the fireworks show felt like a pretty decent 4th of July celebration.
Now just enjoying my day off work and trying very hard not to feel bored while doing nothing constructive.
