Christmas in Chappell Hill, TX

Mike and I took Michael for a day trip this past weekend to my boss Ralph's weekend house in Chappell Hill, TX. Every year he hosts an open house and we thought that it was a great chance to take Michael for some one-on-one time without little brother. We fed the ducks, rode on a tractor, and then headed downtown to Main Street. Michael marched in the teddy bear parade (and won third prize!), listened to Mrs. Claus read stories, and watched Santa come in on a fire truck. He had a blast!

Michael makes a Friend

We were at Pappadeaux last night with one of my pledge sisters from OSU and her family. Michael, our little charmer, caught the attention of a guy headed to the bathroom. He started talking to Michael and asking him questions. Michael talked away. After he returned to his seat, Michael waved at him periodically through dinner saying "Hi, Man!" and the man stopped by a few more times to visit with Michael. It was Michael Irvin, former Dallas Cowboy & hall-of-famer. He was such a nice guy, very warm and friendly. Michael was a big fan!

Nice tree, Clark

The boys and I headed to the tree lot to pick out our tree last weekend. I say WE picked out the tree, but it is really Mike who is very opinionated about his Christmas tree. My only two cents was to say, "Mike, that is an awfully big tree." I had a "Christmas Vacation" moment when we set it up in the living room. There was sap and pine needles everywhere....

Happy Holidays

Pictures with Santa

What's missing here? Oh yes....a picture with Santa. Mike and I took the boys to get their pics taken with Santa to beat the holiday rush. It was a great setup - Michael loved the "Polar Express" theme. However, the picture taking was a disaster. After speeding through the line and getting a precious shot, we waited for 1.5 hours to get our pic after a bug with the computer and they eventually lost our picture completely. By this time we were past nap time and refused to subject our tired (and cranky) boys to another try. Better luck next year!
