Love Notes
Mike reminds me daily to enjoy this because it will be fleeting that he will let me do this :) - - I started writing a little note on a napkin with Sully's lunch at the beginning of Kinder (would do the same for Brooks, but he eats at school each day) and now it is tradition every time I pack him a lunch.
I am a terrible artist...as evidenced by the picture. However, Sully loves it and always reminds me in the morning to write him a surprise note.
Brooks' Preschool Group Ice Cream Social
My sis gave me this party idea,she did the same thing for her staff before school started this year. Perfect for little kids
. They loved it!
Boys First Hunting/Camping Trip
Mike is the best Dad ever!! That about sums up the trip. Boys had a blast.
Lost Pines and No Pictures
We spent Labor Day weekend at Lost Pines in Bastrop with the Hudsons and Greves. Kids swam, Dads played golf, and we even got out for two adult dinners thanks to Wendy, who organized sitters for us.
The boys had a blast swimming, making s'mores, watching movies on the lawn, and going on the "big" slide. Fun was had by all....but, you wouldn't know it because we took no pictures! I finally thought to snap one at breakfast the last morning of the kiddos, but no one was very into it that morning...probably too worn out from the weekend.
Bi-Weekly Tradition - School Lunch
Brooks and I have started to meet Sully for lunch one day during the week about every two weeks or so. It has been fun, although they eat breakfast in Kindergarten at 10:45!! What?!
As you can imagine, that limits our lunch options for places that serve early. Sonic and Whataburger are basically it.
One of our awesome Kindergarten Moms put together a teacher "quiz" asking them for their favorite colors, foods, etc. One of the columns was favorite Sonic drink - - good thought!
So, Brooks and I typically pick up and extra drink or two for Sully's teacher, the school nurse (for keeping an eye out for our allergy boy), or the front desk lady. It's an easy and inexpensive way to let them know we appreciate them. Who doesn't love a Sonic drink??!! :)
First day w/Brooks
We went from a threesome to a twosome on Tues/Thurs and although we miss Sully terribl
y I sure am having fun with my sweet Brooks.
We celebrated our first day as a duo with Starbucks hot chocolate and a bike ride.
I also enrolled Brooks in a swim class that he will attend once a week for the entire school year. He is a new swimmer (started within the last few months), so I thought this would be a great way to get some exercise, hang out with some other 4 yr olds, and continue to get stronger as a swimmer. So far, he loves it! We have two little fish on our hands, I think.
Meet the Teacher Events
Both boys had events, but parents only to Brooks and Sully got to go to his...hence the pic of just one boy "meeting the teacher". ;)
