Photo Contest…I need your help!

The talented duo (two of my friends) at Click Workshops have an awesome photo contest going on right now and I need your help to win. I debated about entering b/c I know I need a lot of work with my camera and taking pics, but every once in awhile I feel like it just clicks. So I said, what the heck I’m going to enter. The contest I entered was for amateurs and the theme was natural light…the picture I picked was from the boys first Braves Game last summer. Andrew's eyes are so blue and his expression is of pure innocence and wonderment.

A Beautiful day!

We are having beautiful weather for this time of year in Georgia. The boys have been sick the last few weeks with a nasty cough that is leading to them not sleeping which means this mommy is tired. Craig was oot for 5 days and just returned home yesterday…on average the boys were waking up b/w 4 and 6:30am which is ludicrous for my awesome sleepers. This morning thanks to my wonderful husband who manned the troops I was able to sleep till 8am. I felt great this morning so I was determined to get the boys and myself out. We hit the gym where mommy worked out and then we all went swimming, then subway for lunch then 3 hours of play time at this awesome park near our house. Once home we washed and vacuumed out my Honda, played with the neighbor kids and then made pizza with daddy for dinner. These are my kind of days…go strong and wear the youngsters out in the hopes they will sleep in.

Today at the park this older kid by probably 3 years came up to Andrew and asked if he wanted to play…Andrew’s face lit up, turned to me and asked if he could play with them. I was like go for it buddy. He was so excited to be included with the older, cool kids. They had a blast running around the park doing typical little boy things. Ethan was busy playing in the sand and testing out every.single.slide at the park. What a beautiful, FUN day!

Happy Valentine's Day from A + E

I spent a wonderful morning with my two sweet boys at their valentine's day party at school. After daddy got off work the four of us went and had a yummy dinner at Pure (the best Mexican food ever). No wait and we were home just in time for bed! Nice, relaxing day! HAPPY LOVE DAY!!!!

I love the boys school, can't say enough good things about it, but dang why are my boys and one other kid the only kids NOT smiling?? I asked the boys and they said, they didn't feel like it...really, a 4 year old doesn't feel like smiling. I guess they are tired of mommy saying "look here, smile, stop moving, etc."

Prayer

Craig and I were both raised in the church, but we have yet to take our boys to church so with the boys starting preschool at a Methodist church they are learning about God through Chapel once a month and daily bible verses in their classroom. I didn’t know they were learning prayers though and last week before lunch on a non school day the boys told me they needed to say their prayer before eating. Something about watching them say this sweet little prayer just melted my heart.

Valentine’s Day Cards

I’m taking a much needed break from school work. I’m in the midst of writing a paper about the little girl I’m tutoring this semester.

Andrew and Ethan have their very first V-day party at school on Monday. They were told to send in 12 Valentine’s Day cards for their fellow classmates. We picked out some cool Toy Story cards last week at Wal-Mart, they even come with pencils. The boys signed their cards tonight and here are the pictures. Towards the end Andrew gave up writing his whole name and was just signing his cards with a large A. Ethan has perfected his name, Andrew is still working on getting down the r,e and w.

Random Post

Lots going on around our house these days. Boys are in school three days a week and I’m in school the other 2 days. I feel like we spend a lot of time in the car driving back and forth from school. I started my last round of field experience before TOSS in the fall. TOSS is the semester before student teaching, it will give me a better look at teaching, but without all the responsibility that student teaching will bring. Luckily I was placed at an elementary school right down the road from the boys school. I’ll be tutoring once a week for 2 hours for the remainder of the semester. I plan to have a awesome summer with the boys before my life gets really, really busy..from what I’ve heard TOSS is insanely busy. I can’t wait!!!!

Andrew and Ethan are doing so great at school, they are learning so much..it amazes me how much their little minds can absorb, they really are like little sponges at this age. They are at a Christian pre-k, and the other day before lunch the boys told me they needed to stand behind their chairs and pray. It was the sweetest little prayer and really melted my heart. I caught it on video, but unfortunately I can’t seem to find a way to transfer video off my IPhone onto here? I’m helping with their Valentine's day party at school on the 14th, I’m in charge of the craft for the day. I guess this is a glimpse of what I get to look forward to when they start elementary school.

Yesterday we went with my parents and sister to the Center for Puppetry Arts in downtown Atl, (about 30 mins from our houses). My mom had bought a groupon (we are all addicted) for half off admission to a show, tour, and craft. We decided to see “there’s a dinosaur in the closet” it was really cute and kept the boys attention. Afterwards we toured the center and saw all the Jim Henson puppets and then the boys made their very own dinosaurs…Ethan named his “Mr. Ethan” and Andrew said his was rocky, like the dinosaur in the show. Their dinosaurs were a little hungry and needed to stop for some leaves on the way to the car!
