4 Months

Already behind on this.

Calli was 4 months on January 22. I was excited to take her to her apt. to see how much she weighed. She is just so different from Jocelyn who was long and skinny. Calli is covered in adorable rolls. I was actually surprised she was only around the 50% for weight. Anyway, Calli is still such a great baby. My only complaint may be that she has not been the perfect sleeper she was. But that could be due to a number of things and I am still just completely in love with her.

Here are a few pictures from her appointment. She is such a happy baby. Smiles at everyone, all the time. Though it takes a lot to get her to laugh. I have only succeeded once.

 She just loved talking to the Dr. I felt bad though, this was right before her vaccinations. She was happy as can be and then she had to get shots. She was not happy then.

Then we got home and she was happy as can be again.

After Christmas

The week after Christmas was a BUSY but fun week. We played, a lot. We spent the week going to the beach, going to see the space shuttle, going to see the Temple lights and eating Diddy Reese after, going to the Getty and maybe sleeping a bit in between. It was a lot of fun.

 Jocelyn wanted to fall asleep looking at the Christmas tree. 

 My mom treated the girls to pedicures and suggested I bring Calli along. We soon found out why. She is a proud Grandma.

 Jocelyn and I went to Mondos so I could surf (grandparents hung out with the girls) while the rest of the family went to the zoo. I am very glad we went to the beach. 

 Aunt Becky was a great help while we were there.

 eventually, we had to go home. While I was in no way excited to be in the snow, we were excited to see Cory. Can you tell these two missed each other?

Sleepless nights

Jocelyn has never taken to sleep well. Lately she will spend around an hour to an hour and a half playing in her room before falling asleep. She will play with her stuffed animals and read her current favorite books. Right now she is stuck on "Curious George and the Firefighters."  The other night I happened to be outside her room and I heard her talking.

"See, this is you with your friend, the man with the yellow hat. And you are seeing the firefighters. This is you on the firetruck and it says, woo woo woo.."

Before Christmas

There is no possible way to describe how excited we were to go home to California for Christmas. Unfortunately our usual long vacation had some hang ups. Cory started a new job after Thanksgiving and was not going to have time off other than Christmas day. His work was nice and let him have Christmas Eve off but he had to fly home Christmas night for work the next day.

So we jumped in the car on Friday the 21 and spent the first two days with his family before he had to leave. As always, it was a blast. If only the weather had not been rainy so we could have had family beach time together.

Every year my family decorates gingerbread (gram cracker) houses. It is one of my favorite traditions ever. I was busy helping Jocelyn build hers and was unable to get many pictures but here are the ones I do have.

Stephen and Alisha built the UT tower. We were worried it would tip over shortly after, but when I left on January 3 it was still standing. 

 For the last...I am not even sure how many years our friend and also former Choir teacher and her family have joined us in this tradition. After building their house she always plays carols on the piano. Jocelyn thought this was the best part of all. She sat and "played" and sang almost the whole time.

Cory, decided to take an adventure and ended up returning with his own Christmas present to himself. A very large helicopter. All the other guys seemed to like it as well.
