Hospital Fun with Spencer!

The tradition continues! With every baby, Tyler takes chocolate cake and milk into the hospital and eats with the baby explaining how delicious this treat is. I bet Grandpa Hal would do the same if he were here! So far, three for three of our children enjoy this treat--it will be a while before we know if Spencer will like it.

Temple Square Visit

On the day after Thanksgiving, mom decided that going to Temple Square and seeing the lights and the Christus wouls be a great idea. (I guess I thought it would furthur my progression with the baby coming!) The kids enjoyed seeing this statue and learning of Jesus. They didn't enjoy the crowds, we will return when it slows down.

Santa Claus Visits

Santa Claus came visiting at the ward Christmas Dinner on Dec 1, 06. I was not able to attend as Spencer was born that day also. Grandma Jan and Tyler enjoyed their time seeing the kids on Santa's lap. Karson here whispered that he wants a "scooby doo umbrella." We will have to see if Santa can work miracles and find one!



Braden is the perfect age for Santa Claus. Tyler and I are soaking up our time as this fun will pass for him in years to come. Anyway, Braden asked for a "wallet." Lately, Braden is really into money. He has figured out that nearly everything in this world costs money. He wants money and a safe place to put it. Currently, he and Karson are earning $1 each week depending upon their obedience and such. Tyler and I are trying to teach them about tithing, savings, and the importance of money. Hopefully Santa can bring him a wallet because mom is tired of finding Braden's money stashed in a hiding place in his room.


Brynn didn't make it far on Santa's lap. She jumped right back into Grandma Jan's arms. She talks about Santa, but is not too fond of sitting on his lap and talking with him. Maybe next year?

Baby Spencer December 1, 2006

Here is our handsome son weighing in at 8 lbs 3 oz and 20 in long.
Spencer came one week early by induction, and mom is glad he isn't any bigger.

Mom was in labor for approx. 5 hours. The epidural didn't work well the first time, so they fixed it a little bit and gave me a high dose of medication. This made mom numb all over including the fingers and chest area. They turned it off immediately because Spencer was ready to come out anyway. It is sure difficult to push when you are numb. It is a good thing that the doctor pulled the baby out after only 9 pushes--the umbilical cord was cut before the shoulders and the body came out--and he was purple. He did not breath for nearly 45 sec -1 minute. This sure made mom and dad nervous. But, all is well now. He looks like his brother Karson and has a tint of blue in his eyes, but who knows if it will stay?

We are home now and the kids sure enjoy their little brother. Dad returns to work tomorrow, Braden continues with school, and mom gets to work here enjoying the rest of the kids. Life is busy, but we will try to enjoy every possible moment while we can, because these little ones grow up fast. We are truly blessed and thank everyone for their help, prayers and love.

Misc Fall Stories . . . 2006

This is a picture of AnnaKate Morris. Braden and AnnaKate are in the same kindergarten class and have played together several times. As you can see, AnnaKate has drawn a heart with an "I and a heart" (my picture missed the U) in it. She completely embarrassed Braden when she was over playing by telling Braden that she loved him. He went beat red and ran out of the room. Needless to say, we put away the markers and boards and went outside to ride scooters and bikes. She is a cutie, but Braden was caught off guard and I think likes playing with girls, but a girl friend is out of the picture. First crushes are fun. I must say that when Braden writes a list of "club" members AnnaKate is always the only girl on the list and she comes either first of second on the list 99% of the time.

This is a little too ironic for me because I went to school with AnnaKates dad's brother Chad Morris. What a fun and small world we live in.

A side note: no teasing Braden about this because he is real sensitive to the matter, and I don't want him to shy away from being friends with AnnaKate or any girl for that matter. They are great friends!

Uncle Andrew likes to surprise us with visits! Most of the time I have some yummy food for him to eat, sometimes I don't. This time, Andrew made a cheese quesadilla and ended up sharing it with three of his favorite family members. He is such a sport, and my kids love to see uncle Andrew.



Tell me, does she look younger or older with her hair like this? She is 21 months old here. I can't believe that her hair is still sooooo short. I am exaggerating, but it's true! She must have stunted growth--or some genetic thing from the Rees side, because my families hair can grow just fine as far as I can remember. Anyway, she is the cutest Brynn I know!

Street Racing

My three kids (in the middle) have discovered that our little street we live on is not very busy. And, it is fun to ride whatever toy they can down the road and race. I have limits on the start and stop point, however, they always want to push my limits.

On this particular day, my kids were racing and Abby and McKenzie Sullivan stopped and surprised us with a visit. You will notice that Abby has no bike to ride--she says that she would rather run and race than ride and race. McKenzie on the far right, is a little more bold than her sister and started to be a little more daring and get some speed. The Sullivan kids will have to spend more time racing to keep up with the Rees kids. My three kids have no fear, and go and go and go.

Karson rides the toy lawn mower, Brynn rides her toy, and Braden rides a toy for a much smaller child, but is pretty heavy duty. They have even ridden the dump truck (sitting in the bed and leaning back for balance).

This happens most of the time. Brynn gets a great start, and Braden and Karson catch up and pass her to the finish line (Bosses driveway)! It has been really fun to watch them race down the road. I am pretty sure that this is not teaching them to stay out of the road, but in the same breath, I am outside with them while they do this. I am more than happy for our location of where we live, and the slow traffic on our road. The residents around us definitely know to slow down, it is just teaching the darn high school drivers to slow down and watch where they are going, and not to be show offs.

I am sure that if the snow plows wouldn't come, we would have a great sledding hill right here!

Hunting & Shooting 2006

This is a favorite activity for dad and the boys. Tyler is teaching the boys about guns and safety at an early age. Of course this scares me, but I know that it is important for Tyler and fun as well. Braden and Karson get to set up targets at the ranch and they do a pretty darn good job at hitting them. It is a fun activity for the entire family. Brynn and mom go for 4-wheeler rides while they shoot. But, mom does get her shooting in at times also.

Karson gets to practice his skills as well. He keeps wanting to pull the trigger with his left hand because his right hand does not fit quite around dad to shoot. He is getting better each time and having fun also.


This is the kids with the deer dad shot this year. It is a little 4 point (approx 18 inches wide). The kids are sure proud of their dad as you can see. We will jerky this entire deer as we bought all the necessary supplies at Cabela's for great tasting jerky.


This is a closer picture of the deer and dad. Nice buck. I should mention that dad and Dallin went hunting together. Tyler mentioned that he had a great time with Dallin and hopes the opposite occured. Tyler said that Dallin has a bad gut(or bad gag refluxes) when it comes to gutting the deer. Tyler said he could hardly breath let alone see it. Anyway, I am glad that the Hal Rees sons got to spend time together anyway. It is not too often that they get to do this being that they are 10 years apart. But, all in all, a successful hunt! And, the jerky is very tasty!

Halloween 2006

What cute kids. Brynn is a Butterfly, Karson is Batman, and Braden is Superman. We all went on a big circle and the kids got lots of treats. Braden is figuring out that running is going to get him more candy. We had to tell him and Adam Brooks to slow down and wait for the others. It was a bunch of fun. Karson and Nicholas Brooks were both Batman.

This pumpkin was carved by Andrew Roundy. He did a great job!

This is our family. Dad was a soccer dad, which fits because he is the coach to both of our boys. I am very pregnant, so decided to use Jodi's idea and go for easy. I am smarty pants. The smarties will now be used for gingerbread houses in the next couple of weeks or so.

We also trick-or-treated at dads work this year before it was dark. Lifetime Products had a conference room and the kids went from door to door and got plenty of candy before hitting the streets.

This is the work of our two boys when we carved pumpkins. Andrew and Michelle were great help and all the kids seemed to have a bunch of fun. They look scary!

Overall, a great halloween and we are looking forward to the next one already!

Fall Soccer 2006

Braden and teammates running towards the ball--determination! Their team name is Blue Thunder and is coached by dad. Braden is getting much better and is really competitive. I wonder where he got that from? He practices nearly every day he can in our backyard.

This year Karson is playing in the U5 league. He is actually playing up an age group, but is much happier because he is playing instead of watching like last year. He is so cute. Look at that uniform--you can't see his legs at all. He got better each game, is coached by dad, and his team name is White Sharks.

This is Tyler talking to Truman, Karson, and Sam(back towards us). Tyler is so great with those kids. He challenges them and really reaches out to them. He is a great coach!


This year, Braden's team did so good. We had a couple close games which were fun to watch because of the intensity and determination to play so good. We don't keep score at such a young age, but it is fun to see those little bodies get excited when they do something right. Karson's team did very well also. He has a couple of kids who played up last year and you can tell they are developed a little bit more than others. Karson will stay in this same age group next year, and hopefully he will shine. We love to watch the kids play, and enjoy every minute of their excitment and happiness. We are looking forward to spring soccer (they will still be on their same teams).

Karson Birthday

Karson's Birthday was a couple of months ago, however, he wanted me to put these pictures on the computer for Aubree and Dominick to see. Tyler did the art on the cake. Karson has really been into batman and was even batman for Halloween (we will get to those picts later). He is now four and is chasing Braden in all he does.


This was the most popular present. Of course Lightning McQueen car from the movie Cars by Disney/Pixar. Grandma Roundy was taking him to the store to buy him an umbrella when he stumbled upon this race car. Prices were not comparible, however, he got grandma to give in and pay the whopping $20 for this car. (Umbrella maybe being $5). Anyway, he loves it, and so does Braden who is admiring it in this picture, and so does Brynn. He had many other gifts and has had lots of fun with everything. Thanks to all!

Braden lost his front two bottom teeth back in June! He actually had to have them pulled because his permanent teeth were growing in behind his baby! He was very brave.

This is from the Roundy reunion in the Uintahs. We had fun walking up and down the river and getting wet! The water was really fast and really cold!

This is too cute! I hope that Dallin keeps a copy of this one! Anyway, this is when we tore up our back yard and Brynn helped out a lot. She is definately not afraid to get dirty, and then Dallin did her hair. This picture deserves an award of some sort to me!

Huge 2006 Yard Project!!

My sweet husband worked hours and hours to complete it and it looks awesome! The kids sure enjoy playing on it--and much of the neighbor kids also. Mostly because it is flat and big unlike the other yards in the neighborhood.

This is a great picture of our back yard with a huge hill leading down to the basketball court. As you can see from the finished picture, the yard looks and is much bigger without it in our yard.

That is a huge maple tree stump that we ended up having stumpped out.

Ok, thanks for the comment Monica. I have actually tried to blog in the past 2 weeks or so, however, with computer problems, it got pushed aside. I am pretty sure that we have that problem solved now. So, here is my next blog. First, as you saw above, I am going to post a few old and then new pictures of our yard. Aaron saw it, but you haven't seen the finished yard. As for all of the family, you are more than welcome to come and enjoy our newly done yard--I guess next spring, summer would be the best since winter is around the corner. But, we would welcome any and all who would like to come.
