The last 8 years--catching up.

As you are all aware, Tyler and I just celebrated our 8th anniversary(married October 2, 1998) . Boy how time flies. I wish that my mother forced me into keeping a journal, then I wouldn't be so bad now. however, this is my time to redeem myself, and how great it is to have a computer as help. It was always hard to write by hand, but the computer fixes mistakes, and helps our thoughts make sense. Thanks to my sister, Monica, who told me about this journal method. I just hope that I can keep up with the busy life my family is leading.
The first year Tyler and I were married I will recapture with memories and pictures. The pictures are nicely scrapbooked in a picture book--not Jodi scrapbooked (thats too much money and time for my lifestyle). Anyway, just briefly, our first year was filled with lots of schooling for me at Weber State University, Tyler starting the electrical apprentice program at Ogden-Weber ATC, playing on indoor and outdoor soccer teams, seeing lots of friends and family get married, and more.
Just a quick note--Jodi returned from her mission two months after Tyler and I were married. We lived in the home which Tyler grew up in because his mom is remarried to Brad Roll due to Tyler's father Hal Royal Rees passing away due to brain cancer when Tyler was 13 years old.
During December 1998, my entire family (the Roundy's), went to Florida to have Christmas. This trip was planned since the previous Christmas, and since Tyler joined our family, my parents bought an extra plane ticket, and all the other extra goods so that we could be a family on the vacation. Tyler and I really enjoyed out second honeymoon in Florida. What a fun time, yet a different Christmas in warm weather.
The next bunches of pages are filled with adventures of four-wheeling at the dunes and the ranch, camping all over the place, boating to Bear Lake with Tyler's extended family, and hiking to the top of Mt. Timpanogas. What fun those times were. I can't believe it, but we sure must have gone to the dunes a lot because there are tons of picts at the dunes.
Hunting season rolls around each year. Dallin and Andrew both shot a deer this year. Tyler is just proud of hunting a fox and killing it. Tyler has enlightened me on a great and fun sport called shooting. I can't believe my dad didn't teach me more with his big hunting background. Oh well, I really enjoy going shooting rock chucks and pot guts at the ranch with Tyler. We did this when we dated and even more now we are married. Guns are fun, yet dangerous.
At church, Tyler and I were called to teach the sunbeams, then Tyler was called to be in the young mens, and I got a different team teacher. It was fun and rewarding.
The second year of our marraige is filled with adventure again. Lots of dunes again (Andrew rolled the wheeler), school keeps on ticking for the both of us, and we still live in Morgan. For new years eve, we went on an expedition up to the Wildes cabin in Croydon Utah. We went with a pack of friends. It took so long to get up there, we were all tired when we got there and I don't believe that Tyler and I made it to the tick of midnight. Pictures would better tell this adventure, sorry sounds boring for you.
Tyler continues to work on being an electrician, and has a great learning experience by doing DTV on top of the mountain for KSL channel 5. It was really snowy and so he got to take his four wheeler on some days and finish his drive to the job on top of the mountain.
We went with Slates to flaming gorge on a boating and camping adventure. I maxed out my fishing capacity, and Tyler got one fish, and the Slates, well, they just had some of ours. We must have been lucky because we are not much for fisherman. But, the boat and tubing rides were fun.
Man, what great memories. Monica, you'll like this one. We hiked the Tetons with Monica and a friend Michael Fisher. That was an adventure. When Monica got back to Morgan with Michael, Tyler and I were watching them kiss, of course we were hiding. Anyway, that didn't last long between the two of them and good thing--Monica found Aaron.
Camping was fun, with many great laughs. Monica opened the door on Mom in the outhouse, We fished at the boy scout pond and were pretty successful, and caught frogs. We also went down to southern Utah with our friends to see the Panguitch area. Enough said about that trip.
Ok, living on 13 acres on Morgan was a change for me--a "city girl." We were given two baby sheep to raise. I learned how to bottle feed them, and take care of them a little bit. One of them died because a dog chased it into the fence post, and the other was butchered when it was old enough. Farmers have a lot of work to do!
It was during our second year of marraige that Tyler and I decided that we could try and be parents. It was fast getting pregnant and to our surprise, we were due June 4th 2001 with our first baby. School was getting monotonous and harder for the both of us--we never felt like the end was in sight. I just got a job with UPS on the customer counter just prior to our second annniversary. We needed benefits and I received them which was a blessing because I was having a baby!
The next pictures I have are of spring 2001. I became a farmer again. Uncle Scott had some mommy cows stolen. One of them was the mom to twins. So, Tyler and I got to bottle feed them, and more. What a great experience. however, those darn dogs from next door (which was over the hill) kept on chasing the cows around the pen. I was nervous because these were Scott's and the way he made money. I was tired of chasing the dogs awasy, and I found out about the rule of domesicated animals and being eight months pregnant, shot two pure bread dogs ($600 worth) to death. The third dog got away. I can't believe what I done, however, no harm was done to us, and I became known as "dog shooter" to Uncle Scott.
We went to Boise one month before I was to have my baby for the blessing of Kara Young. It was nice to get away from home, but the drive was long--especially being very pregnant. Tyler and I didn't find out what we were having, so the baby showers were fun. I seemed to get more girl stuff than boy stuff. But, on June 6, 2001 I delivered a healthy boy. We named him Braden Tyler Rees. The moment you hold your own baby in your arms is one of the most joyous and rewarding of all time. It was worth all the pain, hurt, and stretching that occured!
Two weeks later, Monica and Aaron were married. And then the next week we blessed Braden Rees. We blessed him earlier than expected because on July 9th, 2001 Grandpa Roundy, or dad to me (Floyd), went in for open heart surgery. We didn't know what kind of outcome to expect, so we figured that since Hal had passed on earlier, that we wanted a grandpa to be a part of this special occasion in case the worst happened. Dad came though the surgery good. He had a minor stroke which left him paralyzed from the waist down. He has had to learn to walk again, but is doing fabulous now!!
The rest of the pages in this picture book are just plenty of our handsome baby Braden. We are now at Aug 2001 where Braden won "biggest muscles" at the fair. That was chaos, and I don't think I will be doing that again. Anyway, that captures nearly the first three years of our marraige. Five more to go, why didn't I do this earlier? I am trying to be brief, but entering in fun memories before they fade even more.
In Sept 2001, Anthony opened his mission call to Washington DC South mission. And, then tons more pictures of cute Braden. A few with cousin Kara (she sure was tall)! October 2001 was our third anniversary, and just after that on October 13, 2001 we celebrated with our dear friends, the Barrera's, their temple sealing in the Ogden Temple. That was a neat day for Tyler to see his best friend Brady sealed to Jennifer.
Braden keeps on growing. I remember everyone saying he is a chub, and he sure was! But a cute one! That hunting season, I, Tiffany shot a four point buck just on the property in Morgan where we lived. Tyler wasn't even there. I called, and he talked me through it . . . and I shot it right through the heart! Tyler gutted it, but said that I have to do the next one. Maybe that is why I have not shot another one since.
Braden was an alligator for halloween, he didn't cry on santa's lap, but Kara did! For Christmas that year, Tyler completely surprised me with a gun of my very own. A little .22, but I was excited! Tyler is a wonderful shooter and got him another fox. Cousin Jesse Cristando visited with his police dogs, that was a little scary.
The winter Olymipics were held in SLC 2002 and Tyler worked to a company for a short month or so and got to be apart of the olympics. We had our own little fun in a tent and did a mini curling game, luge slide, bobsled, and hockey. The olympics was fun to have in Utah, and next time I will try and volunteer for them.
By now, pictures are showing summer 2002 and my belly is big. I forgot to mention that we suddenly and surprisingly are expecting number 2 baby in September. They are going to be 15 months apart, but oh well. Sorry my tenses are switching, but I am going back into time. Anyway, there are plenty of swimming pictures at Gma Francis pool in Morgan to see, and I need to mention that Braden was walking by the age of 10 months without any help.
I see in the pictures that Braden had a successful B-day party when he turned one, Monica is very pregnant with number one (a boy for them), and then next, TaLonnie's and Ryan's wedding pictures. They married at the end of June, and Monica delivered her baby three weeks early on Tyler's B-day (june 26). It was wierd when the photographer asked the siblings of TaLonnie to stand by her for her pictures at the Temple and it was Andrew and me. But, due to family changing and different circumstances, it was the case this time.
The next pictures consist of the fair in Bountiful that Jodi and I took Braden to. This was fun and memorable. He did such a great job on the rides for barely being one. Tyler has a big blue 4 door truck--I believe the year was 1978. It needed work, but cost us too much, so we ended up selling it later.
It must be Sept 23, 2002 because here comes our sweet Karson Floyd Rees into this world. It was scary at first because he was born purple and blue. He screamed immediately, but the doctors didn't know if there were further internal damages, so they ran a bunch of tests. We are grateful for the power of the priestood and the blessings of the Lord, because Karson's tests all came back normal to the doctor's surprise.
Braden is helping dad with wood outside. He loves to still help with wood. Wood is something that won't die with Tyler. Hal taught Tyler great wood working skills and the importance of having it--Tyler loves to cut wood, and loves that his kids enjoy helping him.
Braden seems to be adjusting to Karson just fine. I remember he really didn't have a problem. He was so young, that it didn't matter. That year for halloween, Braden was a cow, and Karson was wearing ghost pajamas. Braden loves Karson and it is fun to see pictures of how he gives loves and wants to play with him.
We took Braden bowling. He rolled the ball great with the help of dad. We blessed Karson I believe at the beginning of December 2002--that was a neat experience. Winter came-- Braden went sledding. Christmas came and went in style. Having two kids, Tyler and I decided not to go anywhere for Christmas. It was fun to have it at our house.
It was always fun to visit the Youngs in Meridian. It must have been blessing Aubree, their second. Braden loves to see the fire engines at Drew's work, and play with Kara.
Further into the year 2003, we went camping several times, fed the horses in the yard, went to the zoo, swimming, and the ranch plenty of times. Tyler built a neat sand box in Morgan and the kids loved to play in it also.
Amanda married Jon Middleton. We wish them happiness. I believe that was August 2003. Sometime that summer of 2003, we moved into my parents (the Roundy's) basement. It was a fast move and needed to happen--no detail at this time. Pictures are hard to describe, but we sure had a lot of help and stuff!
For halloween 2003, Braden was a Tiger, and Karson was the cow. The kids had a bunch of fun, and it was very enjoyable. In October, we visited Monica, Aaron, and Dominick in Indiana. It was fun to see them and get away for a little while. They have a nice place and Aaron seems to enjoy school as much as he can, and is working hard to get his masters degree.
Christmas 2003 was fun. We still were living at my parents, and I have pictures of sledding, and playing in the snow.
We visited the Young's in Jan 2004. Braden taught Kara how to take all the cushions off the couches and make a club or hut. There were many other pictures at the fire station, so I am sure the trip was a success and fun.
Abygail turned one in March of 2004. She got lots of presents from my pictures. Wow how time flies. Easter came next, and the kids seemed to get plenty of eggs and had a bunch of fun. We went to the ranch for a hunt and to see the Rees side. My kids love the Ranch.
That summer Tyler switched jobs to Zachry, and I decided that for us to get a house of our own, that I would go and teach school. I was part of the ARL program, and had to take five classes during my teaching of three years. I interviewed, and the first interview I had landed me my job at Orion Jr. High school in No. Ogden. It was a 35 minute commute, but worth every bit so we could get into our own place. A week after I signed my contract to teach, we found out we were pregnant with number 3. This was even a further push to find our own place. Tyler liked his new job and was learning alot. It was a nice pay raise also.
Tyler built a wall in the back of my parents yard that summer with the help of others, and he also built the swingset, clubhouse and slide to go with it. It is a great addition for the grandkids when the go to grandma's house. Oh, can't forget that Tyler also helped rip out the fitzer bushes in my parents front yard. We all hate those bushes! He wanted to badly to rip out the bushes in Morgan, but Jan never wanted it.
Hill Air Force Base had an air show that we took the kids to that summer. It was awesome! More swimming, camping, and zoo, and we added the fair in the summer of 2004. We went to Meridian for the 4th of July and the kids seemed to enjoy the trip. We went to the huge water park--Centerville needs to have one of those.
Halloween rolled along and the kids were the same thing as last year--a Tiger and Cow. They can handle going longer and longer each year of trick-or-treating. What fun! Kids seem to enjoy the bunch of leaves they got to jump into this fall at grandmas house. This snow is falling, and they love to play in the snow.
Christmas this year was in Bear Lake with one of my parents time share deals. That was alittle crowded, but glad we were away.
The best news this year came December 15, when we closed on our first home. It is nearly 3 blocks away from my parents, but that is ok. It was one we could afford-needed a lot of work, and we get to share tools, and much more with my parents. The pictures are a great rememberance of how the house looked. My dear husband, Tyler, and others helped out a bunch with making it liveable for us. Thanks for your hard work. We didn't move in until the middle of Feb 2005. We are glad to have our own place.
We also added our dear sweet daughter to our lives on Feb 5, 2005. Her name is Brynn Rees. She was adorable, and we were glad we got a girl. Her blessing was done in our home due to Tyler's work schedule at the time (Chevron-Timec 12 hour days 7 days a week). It was Easter weekend. What a special day that was for our family.
Later in 2005 we enjoyed the zoo again (I was getting tired of it), the Memorial weekend Rees gathering was fun, and then Braden's Birthday (he turned 4), more camping, swimming, and then Braden starts pre-school with Mrs. Kaye in Sept 2005.
I need to mention that I taught school for only one year due to Brynn coming. What a surprise, but bigger blessing. Tyler found a new job with benefits so that I could stay home with the kids. Day care for the last two months of teaching and three kids was $1000 a month--too much to pay when you are missing precious time with them. I really enjoy being home with the kids.
To help TaLonnie and to help ourselves, I watched McKenzie and Aby while TaLonnie went to school. I also picked up one other boy from the old daycare that my kids went to-Alec. That was fun, trying, and everything else all in one. Needless to say, daycare is not for me.
Tyler and I enjoyed our first Christmas in our own home with the kids. What fun that was. The kids are making friends and enjoying being in our own place also.
The year of 2006 is present. I have almost finished capping the first eight years. I can't believe that I didn't do this earlier. It is hard to remember the past as it fades. Brynn turned one in Feb 2006. We love her cute smiles and the boys are learning more about girls and boys differences. However, Brynn is not the typical girl like the Youngs, or Sullivans. She doesn't care much for dolls, and girl things. She loves to do boy things. Also, she is not as sensitive as most girls because she is around boys and is used to that procedure. Heavenly Father must have known that I could not have handled emotional girls, so Brynn came after my boys and is a girl, but much different than the typical.
For Easter, we went to the ranch again--we like that. We also went up there for the annual Memorial weekend. All the Rees family was there except the Paul and Leslie kids and families. Tyler shot a 50 caliber gun and there was a ton of shooting and fun by all the Rees family.
Braden has played his first year of soccer already. They were green Dragons and mom coached. What fun it is to see these kids enjoy playing. Braden sure loves it. Karson wanted to play every game, and cried most games until he understood that he could play the next year. My boys are definately athletes-which runs in the family
Summer was packed with fun again. The big huge project this summer was fixing our yard and making it playable and fun for the kids. We had a mushroom problem and root problem in the back yard, and boy, now that we are finished, we are loving it! In fact, many nieghbors play because of the size, it is flat, and fun for all the kids.
Tyler spoiled the boys in the spring with a 90cc four-2wheeler which he earned with a turnaround at Zachry money. We have two four-wheelers now. The kids enjoy riding their four-wheeler and it is fun to watch them.
We are expecting number four baby, and we f0und out it is a boy. It is due December 8th, and we are all excited and waiting the arrival.
Tyler went hunting with Dallin this year and shot a little 4 point. We jerkied the entire thing. And, it is good jerky thanks to the Cabela tools which we bought.
Ok, I am pretty sure that is a cap for the first 8 years. Now, I just need to stay on top of this as good as my sister Monica is. Sorry so long, but I needed to do this for me. We love you all and pray for your success and happiness always. It is currently November 3, 2006 and I will close this up and continue later. Love Tiffany
