Gateway trip

Today, we went to the Gateway to pass time and have fun. Yes, Tyler and Braden and Karson are with Tyler getting more wood today. I stayed with the two little ones today and decided to go and have fun. Spencer is really into aircraft lately and loved the helicopter until it was time to get in. He was scared of the "real life like" noise sounds coming from it. Anyway, Discovery Gateway kept the kids busy for nearly two hours.


Then, it was off to the fountain for wet fun. Brynn loves the water and played in it for nearly an hour before she was ready to go home. Spencer lasted about five minutes. He wasn't sure about splashing water all over his face. Oh well, it was fun while it lasted.




At the end, I took my kids to Carls Jr. to play on the toys and eat food other than snacks. Fun day, and now we are more than ready for dad to get home.

July 24th

For the 24th, we went to the forest as a family and got a load of wood to help keep us warm for the winter. Tyler doesn't have any vacation for a year at his new job, but gets paid holidays. We'll take what we can. Anyway, Tyler is completely in his element. He loves cutting and getting wood. He says his favorite power tool is the chain saw. I believe him--he will use it at any opportunity he can. The kids were really helpful, as always, to load and stack the wood.




Later that night, we went to the fireworks display and paid a small fortune for fireworks. It is so hard to talk kids out of the best! The packaged deals are always the best or maybe were wrong. But, that fortune went fast as we lit off the fireworks and enjoyed our time together as a family that night.

I am grateful for the pioneers and their sacrifices. Freedom always comes at a cost and we should pay respect to their efforts, and trials for it has made our lives better.

Pool Party

We sure enjoyed our time at Gma and Gpa Francis pool party. It was fun to see and talk to family which we have not seen for a while. Thanks for the fun, food, and family time.

Aunt Kami brought this huge blow up water toy. It was pretty fun to slide down (ask the kids, I didn't go down even though it holds up to 200 lbs). The water was cold compared to the pool.

FuN TiMeS !!

Zoo

My boys were itching to do something fun after their visit with cousins the day before. So, I decided to take them to the zoo. It was a great activity to get their minds off of cousins, and hard times while we got to enjoy some family time. And the great thing is that I bought a year membership so we can go back for more fun adventures.

Why is this such a fun thing for kids? They love it. We also went at a perfect time to see most of the animals out and moving. The elephants were really friendly.

My kids did not want to go to the bird show. After promising them that it would be awesome, they stayed. One of the birds actually flew right over Karson and Braden touching their head. It was cool. Here is Liberty the golden eagle and three of my wonderful children. These birds are awesome to watch.

Spencer was not about to sit on the tigers. They were blistering hot! Notice my boys being cautious about what does touch the animals.

Family Activities Together

This neat little pull behind train like thing was for Dominick's Birthday party. I was able to find this train for them to use and it was fun for all the kids.

Discovery Gateway. We rode the FrontRunner out to Discovery. It was a fun experience for the kids. I can see why a lot of people choose to ride it. Anyway, it was fun and tiring.

OK, the story. When my sister decided to come to visit, she begged that we go four wheeling. Tyler was really hesitant because of the dead heat of July. Well, in a effort to not upset my sister, we decided that it would be fun to go, and a good experience as they liked the sand dunes the trip before in October (a much cooler month in the desert).

The only time that they could go would be July 5th. And, both sides of my sisters family would be coming. We knew it would be hard because of the fireworks so late and stuff, but we got ready and pulled our kids out of bed in their pajamas at 5:30 am and went the hour and a half to the sand dunes. Well, everyone nearly bailed out. It was upsetting to us because we had way over packed food, drinks and goodies. I wish I would have known because we got up at 4:40 to pack all the food stuff. Tyler and I had planned this fun trip hoping to have a lot of family and fun, yet to be let down. Oh well, for those who went, it was a fun short five hours. We went so early as to be out of the blistering heat by noon. And, when we got in the truck to go home, it registered 95 degrees. Glad we went early.

Independance Day!

We went to the annual Centerville parade. Grandpa waited for 3 hours the day before to reserve our spots for the parade. Thanks Grandpa! The parade was great and I think they threw out more candy than last year. After the parade we spend time at Grandpa/ma Roundy's house and played with cousins, had a Bar-B-Q, and had more fun. We finally celebrated the end of the day with the Davis fireworks. They always put on a good show. I cried through the show as my brother is in military service and I couldn't stop thinking about him.

Cucumber Boats

The Crew! I read in a magazine about cucumber boats. So, with money in hand, I spend a buck a person for the cucumbers knowing that they were just for fun! I carved the boat out so it was hollow and we went across the street of my parents house to the creek behind the neighbors house. It was really fun to see them float. They got caught in the undertow of the rapid, but soon came out and down the creek further. Fun activity!
