Searching for the American Idol.

In a span of just 10 minutes, I received 2 sms msgs from Z back home:

"I really hope the stupid black one goes tonight."

A few minutes later...

"He should just **** off and practise acting cute in front of the mirror."

A few minutes later...

Your favourite boy left. He can't make it la ... so don't be sad. The stupid black one will be leaving next week."

Haha. Thinking of the way George Huff does his blinking eye "VOTE FOR ME" trick cracks me up. It's kinda true that he can sing well, but his facial expressions are waaaaaay off. If you don't get what I'm talking about, check him out whenever he goes on-camera (the blinking eyes) and the famous up-and-down squats he does while singing. Hilarious.

I feel liberated. Chionged through my gender history essay until about 5 am on Wednesday morning (12 hours before it was due, hurrah! Lynn has made a breakthrough!), handed it in 12 hours later, then met Piggy and Nat for dinner at Chinese Noodle House *yawn* Then we went for cake + long long looooonngggg chat at Crown Cafe!!! (mm, regretting now? ;p) Talked about growing old, getting our own cars in future, having kids (errm...) and CPF and stuff (harrrr????). Okay, let's not go there... -_-

Crim essay due 5 May. Totally slacking AGAIN.

Oh man oh man. I, the jazz lover, cannot wait to watch American Idol's Big Band night!!!! I was hoping John Stevens would last longer so he could do a good number. Oh well.

You might wanna consider dragging your parents along when meeting me.

My life is rated PG-13.
What is your life rated?

No mood to blog. Just checking in to make sure everything is okay. Ha ha.

Red lights.

Taking a break from essay-writing now. My lecturer was so awfully nice to me that she gave me a 5 day extension (!!!!!!), and I felt so bad for faking the MC. Therefore I have to promise quality work. Hopefully.

I actually spent close to 3 hours mugging my essay in the library (Percy Baxter, my faithful friend! ;p) immediately after class. Talk about dedication man. I was telling GS earlier on ... that if I were to spend Monday to Friday in the library like this for the entire sem, I will get H1s for all my subjects. Har har har.

You know, doing a 2500-word essay on Thai prostitution and factory workers is pretty depressing. You read so much about their experiences, their rural poverty, how they were sold as sex slaves, then get exploited by the government (to increase tourism and all that econs stuff) and also by Western men, who apparently cannot find the same "tenderness" and "docility" of Thai girls in women from their own country. Which explains why they all flock to Thailand for sexual gratification. And finally, how a girl's route to prostitution is just one-way - she can never, ever turn back. Once they are in, that's the end. You get looked down upon as dirty goods, as filthy stuff. It gets hard trying to settle down after that. It's unfair, really.

I am guilty of intentionally looking around to see if there are any prostitutes walking about whenever I pass the Geylang area in a car. Just for the kick, to see how they are dressed and made up. To look at the man (if any) beside her. My family is guilty too, of making mocking whistles (from the car, of course) whenever we see one. I actually feel bad now ... for what we used to do to and think of them. No girl in her right mind would choose to enter prostitution on her own free will.

I have learnt, after this experience, never to do that again ... because, ultimately ... they are but only human.

"You go down into this small room and for a little bit of money you take off all your clothes and she stays dressed, and you get a mild, tweek-tweek massage ... A little more money and you get a hand job. A little bit more money and you get to fuck her. A little bit more money and you get the supremo-supremo ... the body-body massage ... And she gets on one side of the room and runs and hops on top of you and swiggle-swiggle-swiggle, body-body-body, and you slide together like two very wet bars of soap."

Home for breakfast this morning.

So I had my Japanese speaking test 1 early this afternoon. Not too confident of getting very good marks, considering I forgot some very important words and phrases -_-

Hongo sensei: "nani o tabemasu ka." - what did you eat (for breakfast)?

Me (thinking it was WHERE did you eat, amidst that bag of nerves): "uchi desu." - home.

So I had my house for breakfast this morning -_- Sighhhhh.

Blob's playing "Everyday I Love You" on the keyboard now. Kill me.

2500 word essay worth 55% (-_-) due Friday 5pm. Totally, absolutely, untouched (well okay, I finished typing my name and question et al....). Contemplating feigning illness to get 3 days MC (and extension). Again >.<

What's new? Old habits die hard.

Anyway, just came home from dinner at Fai's, whose mom is here for a 2-week visit. Had some pretty good (home-cooked!!) Thai fare - green curry chicken, fried vermicelli, and some pork dish which was pretty darn good :>

Have to start working on essay soon -_-

Lex van den Berghe.

Survivor: All-stars on Tuesday evening (we're a bit slow here, tsk tsk) was so disappointing. First of all, one of my favourite players Lex lost the immunity challenge to Boston Rob, who promised to "take care" of him if he "took care" of Amber. But when it came to tribal council, sneaky Rob went back on his word and backstabbed Lex instead, and Lex was sent home on a 5-2 vote.

And if it wasn't bad enough, Kathy offered Lex her immunity necklace onscreen before tribal council, therefore making me get my hopes up on Lex not getting the vote. But at tribal council when Jeff asked her if she was giving it away, she thought for awhile and said "I am keeping it" -_-

So what was all that mama-drama about giving away your necklace for?!?

It's been 3 days, and I still can't get over it. Lex would have been good to watch till the end.

Rob goes. Next.

I have tried my best and I have no regrets.

It's that time of the year again. The finals - although not for me... yet.

This may seem a little too late, but anyway Lynn would like to wish all her friends in NUS and NTU who're mugging and slogging away for exams - GOOD LUCK. Apparently Huey finished yesterday (!!!!), and it would be another 3 months plus before she needs to step into NUS again. Darn. To the rest of you who have to wait till next week - hang in there! I'm sure the thought of having 3 months to slack (work, play, have fun, whatever!) is a good enough motivation! I wish I could be in your position, get over and done with exams and whizz back to Singapore next week.

Yeah I wish.

2 major essays due at the end of the month.

You know sometimes I wish like crazy we had holidays at the same time. The duration's pretty much the same, but my long summer hols are at the end of the year and that really sucks. Especially when your friends in Singapore have theirs from April - July. So when everyone back home is partying away, here I am slogging my ass off to get assignments and exams done. Then at the beginning of January when everyone goes back to school and starts getting busy, I am stuck at home waiting for things to do. It got to the point when I had to crash some GEK 1005 lecture in February because I was too bored at home and wanted to... uh, "get a sense of NUS life".

Xavier Wong (name has been changed to protect his identity), I am waiting for you to get your ass here in July!!! Screw SMU lah! ;p

It's Friday, and the Easter break has somewhat ended. It's that point in time when you start wailing, "Where the hell did my Easter break go to???!!!" Oral test next Wednesday. History essay due Friday. Criminology essay due the following Friday. And I'm sure you guys will know (and understand why), the crim essay will be left untouched until I hand in my history one on the 23rd, leaving me less than 7 days to research and write. Groan. I hope I will be fine though, considering I used to churn out 2000-word essays (in 1st year, that is ;p) the night before the essay is due.

But sometimes I have to allow instances for running out of luck.

My NS friends out there waiting for ORD-loh! (I hate using Singlish in my blog but ORD and "loh" just have to go together) - Have great fun clearing your leave, but don't forget to keep yourself in shape during the break. When you get to uni, it's time to exercise some charm on the younger girls.

Ha ha ha. Very funny.

Dead hungry, and I want to watch Kill Bill Vol 2. which opens here next week. But then again, I don't dare to -_-

All in a day's work.

Okay guys, my new blog layout is finally done! Pretty cool, no? Let me know what you think. Spent the entire day on it, so if one day blogger decides to crash for good, I am going to be crushed.

Was browsing through my pictures this afternoon and found this:

The 3 of us totally unconscious and knocked-out on the resting couch at IKEA (????!!!) with the whole world walking around???!!!! - on 29 Feb, the very same day I arrived back in Melbourne. Hilarious man. We girls so cannot make it!!!!! ;p

Gonna crash now. Good night, world. And happy birthday Pa! ;>

Surprise, surprise.

Now now, before you start wondering if this is the wrong blog, DON'T go away yet, cos this is still mine. Changed the blogskin a few minutes ago because the yuckiness of the old one from blogger.com was killing me (with everyone else having funky blogskins, I just had to succumb to the pressure). However, I, the technologically-challenged computer idiot, am having big major probs with changing it. Do bear with me for the time being, will edit the nonsense stuff as soon as possible. And the comment section will be up soon, I promise. (Jo you have to help me!) ;p

Sigh.

But then again, don't you just love my new skin?!

And Piggy, just because you think the eye is creepy doesn't mean you stop reading from now on! ;p

Hairy issues III.

Okay, I still don't know what to do with my hair. Right now it's still the same length, uncut. And you guys have totally different opinions, which is making me very confused ;p Oh well. I guess the final decision still lies with me though? Shall wait till the end of the month to decide.

We had a Japanese visitor session this morning, whereby visitors from Japan would come into our class for us (in groups of 4) to interview and ask questions. Nerve-wrecking piece of work!!! It actually went pretty well, considering my group did such last minute work!!! Apparently, trying to work with "the interest" (ie: Anne) got pretty bad, cos she was away from keyboard (AFK) the entire night while myself and another group member did the shitty brainstorming -_- But all in all, it went okay, in my opinion. The Japanese visitors were really, really nice and patient with us, though there were many times when we could do nothing except stare blankly at them whenever they blabbered in the still somewhat-alien tongue.

10-day mid-semester break starting next week. Not a good time to enjoy ourselves apparently, and I am not feeling too enthusiastic about it either. 2 major essays and 1 oral test due after the hols >.< Wish I could go back home.

Feeling shitty, and it's all your fault.

Actually, I don't know which of the two to blame.

'Cos I can't make you love me if you dont,

But I really hate it when you lie.

Hairy issues II.

The pics are up, and polling has officially started.

Shorter-haired me about a year ago. Many of you may find this pic familiar 'cos I'm always either sending it around or putting it up (not again?!) but I thought this was a good pic to show the length of my hair. Sorry guys -_-

This pic was taken yesterday, with obviously longer hair. Ignore the (fat and ugly) expressionless face, I just didn't feel like being too smiley.

Ha.

Now let your fingers do the walking :p Thanks for the trouble.

PS: Piggy and KL: So I should keep my hair the way it looks or go back to the shorter one?

Hairy issues.

Today is Thursday. Mokuyoobi. The start of my week-end (paradox, haha), April Fools' day, as well as Leslie Cheung's one-year death anniversary (out of point). Cliche thing to say, but time really whizzes past you when you least expect it to. Assignments are due in approximately 3-4 weeks, Nihongo oral test after the Easter break, plus a 400-word Japanese report (!!!!) to hand in at the end of the semester.

I need opinions. Opinions, folks. On whether I look better with short or long hair. Okay I know it probably doesn't make too much of a difference in terms of length, but I am one who takes others' suggestions seriously. Opinion poll on the topic "Should Lynn keep her hair longer?" starts now, attached are two photos to act as your guide. Sorry I have to do this, because I am getting too many mixed reviews. Z thinks long hair looks awful on me, Piggy thinks there are too many straight and long-haired girls around in the streets of Singapore (cannot agree more), Nat thinks I should change my image -_-

Okay, sighhhhh. My photosite is undergoing maintenance at the moment, so. Be back later.

Congrats Kanglun on getting the licence. Time to be my chauffeur in July ;p See if I manage to get mine in May first -_-

Piggy, can you please make up your mind re your present soon? -_- We don't have all day.

Hungry, and terribly in need of dinner.

And I fell out of bed,
