Who needs shelter when the morning's coming?

It just dawned on me, out of the blue, that the deadline for Honours application is fast approaching, and I haven't a clue on what to apply for. I am doing a double major in two areas of study that I absolutely love to the core (thank goodness for the "Combined Honours" option which allows me to have the best of both worlds - again), but as you might have guessed by now, the dilemma lies in which of these two disciplines I want to write my thesis on.

The boring administrative details are as such - The thesis is obviously worth quite a number of points, and therefore choosing between a Japanese thesis or a Development Studies thesis is crucial, because it would affect the structure of my entire Honours course. If I do the thesis in Japanese, which is worth 62.5 credit points out of a total 100, I'd have only 37.5 points of Development Studies left to do (ie: 3 subjects ONLY). Similarly, if I do a Development Studies thesis I will only have 37.5 points of Japanese left (also 3 subjects ONLY). I guess it would be alot easier for me to decide if I liked one of them more than the other, but no, I love them both on equal levels and it is so difficult for me to choose.

Applications have to be submitted together with a 300-word/500-word thesis proposal (for Development Studies and Japanese respectively), and as if this dilemma wasn't bad enough, I have no idea what to write for either of them! Sure, I have my personal interests within both areas of study, but to write a 15,000 word thesis on globalisation and poverty? Or changing social trends in Japan? It makes my head ache just thinking about it...

That being said, I find it difficult to believe that after close to 4 years of undergraduate life, with all that initial hesitation and confusion about what the hell I was going to study back in Year 1, I am finally making decisions about applying for Honours. Fast forward another 18 months from now and I will have to face the real world of job-hunting, employment, work, backstabbing and possibly office politics. And the worst part of working is that I don't get anymore 3-month long holidays!

Booooooooooo.

Growing up is such a chore. I wish I could be in school forever.

It seems the only blessing I have left to my name
Is not knowing what we could have been
What we should have been
So...

Take your records, take your freedom
Take your memories, I don't need 'em
Take your space and take your reasons
But you'll think of me.

Plane.

I have a new celebrity crush!

And tell me how can I stand here with you and not be moved by you...

Random PS: Believe it or not, there are university lecturers who do NOT switch their mobile phone to silent mode when they are giving a lecture, and they actually stop the lecture to ANSWER it when it rings (with funky ringtone and all)!!!!

John and Elvis are dead.

It is Day 7 of the Games and I admit that I haven't been doing much work. My TV is set to Channel 9 practically every minute that I am home, and since the Games are telecast from 9 in the morning to 11 at night... getting work done is quite an arduous task if you ask me (especially during the weekends). Swimming, gymnastics, athletics, marathons, etc., I've watched them all and now I know the names of so many Australian athletes! But above all that, I bought a ticket to watch badminton because I so wanted to experience the action LIVE (o_O).

Umm, pics up later. I have to prepare for school.

Oh, this is the start of something good
Don't you agree?

My Cherie Amour.

I'm having a friend (semi-sibling to be exact) from Singapore coming down under for a short stay, so this "hiatus" shall have to continue for awhile.

Meanwhile, the first day of the Commonwealth Games begins. The idea of being here with all that excitement and cool events is actually pretty cool, but I don't like it when my life gets disrupted, what with all those road closures and 1001 tram service changes for two whole weeks!!

It's difficult to put this in words... but it's only Week 3 of the semester and I'm hating one of my subjects already. And I mean, HATE. Everything about it is just wrong, things with my lecturer aren't working out (he's a nice man really, but WTF!!!!?????!), and I'm dreading the whole process that is to come for the next three or so months. Unfortunately it is now too late to change subjects :(

But I really feel
My eyes won't let me hide
'Cos they always start to cry.

I'm not supposed to love you anymore.

"Bottomline is... we're around each other and... this thing, it grabs hold of us again... at the wrong place... at the wrong time... and we're dead."

Back by not so popular demand.

Once again I have to apologise for having this song back *hears groans and grumbles* (there is always the STOP button). I just wanted to make a 12-year-old American boy happy again ^_^

Yes she caught my eye as I walked on by
She could see from my face that I was f**king high.

James Blunt - You're Beautiful.

PS: "Notting Hill" (my all-time favourite) playing in the living room while housemate vacuums the house. Long overdue (think 3.5 years) housewarming party (o_O) tonight, courtesy of new housemate and her friends. Very glad that I will have P&G over to grace the event as well, hehe!!!

The wait is over.

Still a long way to go, but it sure feels good to finally get some international recognition.

Oh, and I ran into the handsome neighbour (AGAIN), this time at the lobby while waiting for the lift. I refused to greet him, I don't know why.

I guess there is always the weekend to do so...

God, I wish I knew how to quit you.

The friends in both Japan and Singapore have received their JLPT result in the mail.

WHERE IS MINE??!!??!!!

I mean, it's not as if Australia is thaaaat far away from SG right? Or is it? o_O (... or maybe I did so badly that they'd rather save paper than hit me with the truth.)

Meanwhile, the wait continues...

Imitation of life.

On a scale from 1 to 10 I rate today a full 10. Because there is nothing better than ending off a dreary day and a tedious workout with your favourite song blasted over the speakers in your gym class, singing along to that tune with random strangers. James is so popular here in Australia! I cannot wait to scream that same song together with the remaining hundreds of people on April 15 :)

And also because today is one of those occasional bizarre days, when I sit back and still cannot believe that such a thing just happened.

I was going home on one of the trams from Federation Square, when I suddenly realised that the guy seated directly opposite me was super darn HOT. I mean, okay, not like burning hot or Brad Pitt good-body hot, but he had a handsome face and was that very charming type of hot. Gorgeous eyes, chiselled features, etc. I couldn't figure out if he was Aussie-Aussie or something European like Italian/Spanish or whatever, but trust me, I swear he could have jumped out from some fashion magazine. If you die-die want to roughly know what he looks like, I guess what I will say is that he reminded me of that Keagan Kang pattern (go figure).

So, like I always do when I spot yummy eye candy, I took out my phone and very shamelessly tried to steal a pic. But because he was directly in front of me, holding up my phone in front of his face was just waaaaay too obvious...

Finally an idea came to my mind and well, to cut a long story short, I got a picture ^_^

Feeling satisfied that I finally got a pic, I was about to happily get off the tram and let him go his way, when HEY, Mr Eye Candy got up and walked towards the tram door too (!!!!!!!!!). Okay, so we were getting off at the SAME stop (can't be living near me, right? o.O). I walked behind him as we crossed the road and went OMG as I realised we were walking towards the SAME building (and that was when I thought, wow we actually live in the same building!!!!!).

So this is where it gets exciting. I know I know, you are dying to know what happens ;)

We waited for the lift together and although my heart wasn't exactly thumping at 100km/h, I was really nervous and couldn't wait to find out what happened next. I pretended to do nonsensical stuff (like checking out my hair, etc) while waiting for the stupid lift. The lift finally came, and he went inside first. I was about to press the button to my floor, when I saw that the '6' button was already lit because he'd pressed it first. And that was when I silently went OMFG (with twelve exclamation marks), COULD he be my new neighbour????!!!!??!?!!! (for those of you who don't know, my lovely Viet neighbours moved out of their place recently)

Huffpuff, huffpuff...

Lift door opened, and I hurried out of the lift, so that I could at least turn back to see where he was going...

..............

He took out his key, and opened the door... to apartment number 62.

Eye candy on the tram, living just FIVE heartbeats away.

And to think that I have been putting off saying hello to the new neighbours since I came back. Bwahahhahahahaa! Housemate, I sooooooo regret it now ;)

Oh yes, and to Piggy and Gunther (P&G, haha) - Coming over for tea soon, perhaps? ;)

But on second thoughts, after all that I've done, I don't think I can face him as though nothing happened? o.O
