Oh, look how I've changed.

It was the year 2000 and I was in my first year of junior college. I was at the former National Library queuing for my turn to use the coin phone. And because the guy using the phone in front of me seemed to have no intention of keeping the contents of his conversation discreet, I figured that he was trying to win the heart of some girl he was in love with (or something like that). He was going on about how he wanted 'another chance', and 'really want to make this work', and 'I believe we can do this', blah blah... and even though he took eternity on the phone, I was happy to let him take his time and patiently wait, since I thought he seemed pretty serious and I was also honestly wishing the best for them.

Halfway through the convo, and after slotting in 10-cent coin after 10-cent coin, he RAN OUT OF MONEY. I immediately opened my wallet, found some change and gave it to him - all for free and entirely out of goodwill. He accepted my money with gratitude and continued speaking for another few minutes, all this while I was queuing behind him. I can't remember what the outcome was, but after he hung up, I wished him good luck and he shook my hand.

ERRRRRMMM....... Okay, that was Lynn seven years ago, aged 17... full of ideals, hope and love.

If the exact same situation had happened to me today, I would NEVER have offered my money, and I would have told him to hurry up, F*** off and let me have my turn.

And you know what, I actually prefer the me today :)

Bizarred.

It is indeed difficult to keep up with blogging after you have left school, gone back to where you came from five years ago and are in the midst of looking for a job, simply because there just isn't anything that exciting to write about anymore. No more schoolwork stresses to bitch about, and although there still are the random observations and reflective thoughts, I hardly can be bothered to sit down and string them into sentences. In fact, the only writing I do these days is typing emails and writing on Facebook walls. And I do the same old things everyday - catch up with family and friends, watch a couple of movies, have a meal or two, go to the gym, study for the JLPT, worry about my job hunt, send in job applications, rehearse for the December performance at least three nights a week. I'm jobless (and super stressed out about that), but I'm glad I'm at least kept busy by all these non-job hunt-related activities.

And as much as it was extremely difficult to step out of Australian soil last month, I am actually settling in back home rather well (I guess it has a lot to do with the fact that I am unemployed and having the time of my life). I'm happy to be back home with familiar people, great food, and shops that do not shut at 6pm (hehe)... although I must say that I am still seriously annoyed with Singaporeans who absolutely DO NOT wait for passengers on the train to get OUT before they board. It's like, the train door opens and suddenly there is a mad rush to get inside the carriage, so that they can find a seat as fast as possible. WTF???!!!

I was in the car today and I randomly recalled what Jorageous jokingly said about me hooking up with a crew member of the upcoming performance, specifically the 'sound technician'. Her remark was in fact, a response towards my lament about how my love life will go down the drain after coming back home to Singapore.

And then I couldn't stop grinning. Jorageous, isn't it appropriate, seeing how light does travel faster than sound?! :)

I am still very much bizarred, and will remain dazed for awhile I'm sure, despite many attempts to come to terms with the events of Monday night...

是曾与你躲过雨的屋檐

在荡着秋千梦开始不甜。
