This month has been the busiest month for us! In between all of the craziness, we've tried to fit in some special fun things to do with the kids where we could! Here are some of those...
The Dinosaur ParkA couple of Sundays ago the weather was beautiful so we decided to take the kids to a park to feed some ducks and play on the playground there! It's kind of "ghetto" but it's the only park we know of close by where the kids can feed ducks, so they always beg to go there!
The kids call this park the "Dinosaur Park" because of this thing, but I think it's actually an alligator!
Going down a steep slide with Daddy! Yeah, my little daredevil was afraid to go down it by himself at first! He did do it alone eventually though!
Highlights!Brayden loves going with me to get my hair done...I don't really know why, it takes hours and it has got to be so boring for her, but she begs to go with me every time! She's also been begging to get highlights in her own hair. We did it before about a year and a half ago right before Brayden's 5th birthday and she loved it. My hairdresser only charges $10 for Brayden and is so good about making them very subtle, so I thought it would be fun to have her get them again just in time for her dance recital. Brayden was in Heaven!

Ashton thought it just looked like too much fun to miss out on some dryer action, so he joined his sister! (He had no idea his was not turned on!)
The Discovery Children's MuseumLast week we decided to check out the Discovery Children's Museum for the first time. It is so cute! The kids LOVED it! There was so much for both of them to do there!
The kids loved pretending they were on the news! Ashton, of course, hogged most of the microphone time! Brayden mostly enjoyed posing for the camera!
This is a REAL helicopter, not working of course, bolted to the ground, THANK GOODNESS, because Ashton tried EVERYTHING to make it take off! He was so disappointed when it wouldn't!
In this area kids could do all kind of things with balls, like putting them through these tubes. Ashton could have played there the whole time and been perfectly happy not doing anything else in the museum! I don't get why it's so fun myself, but he loved it and played there forever!
Another thing I wish I got more pictures of, this past Saturday the kids planned a tea party. It was so cute...they gave us these homemade invitations earlier in the day...
then they decorated their playroom with streamers and brought up paper plates, cups, napkins and silverware, set out a bunch of games, and even made goody bags for all of us! Instead of tea and cookies, we had Cafe Rio and Pepsi! Then we spent hours playing games together! It was so much fun! I love my creative kiddos!
Then we went out to breakfast before heading to our destination for the day! We had to change our original plans of what to do which was going to be an outdoor thing, because even though the sun was out in the morning, I had heard the weather was supposed to turn, and it did! I thought Ashton would love to go swimming because he is such a little fish and hasn't gotten to swim since last summer! I recently heard of a fun indoor pool from a friend so we thought we'd check it out! The kids had so much fun, they could have stayed there forever! There were a couple of different slides there, but Ashton's favorite was a big one that wrapped around outside and ended inside. He couldn't get enough of it! He was on cloud nine the whole time we were there, he loves swimming I think more than anything! (The slide below isn't the "big" one, but the kids loved it too!)
After swimming we went home to get cleaned up and headed to Ashton's choice for dinner...The Cheesecake Factory! My mom joined us, and it was such a nice dinner. Ashton was even sung to and got a free sundae with a candle to blow out! After that we went to Toys R Us where Ashton got to spend some of his birthday money and he picked out a Mario DS game, then we went home for presents and cake with Ashton's Nana and Pop and Grandma!
A couple of Ashton's presents were these costumes...he always wants to play dress up with Brayden but there was never anything but princess dresses, so many days I found him wearing them because he wanted to play with her so badly and there were no other options! He's so glad he doesn't have to be a princess anymore...instead he can be The Thing or a cop!
Me playing Ashton's new Wii game with him! I can't believe my 4 year old can kick my butt in these games! He's GOOD! (He lived in that costume the rest of the night! He loved it!)
This is seriously the coolest thing! It's called VTech's KidiJamz and it has a keyboard, microphone, record scratcher, tons of songs and sound effects, and a detachable music player that you can record your music and singing on to, and the best part...it has headphones so parents don't have to hear it, because it can get LOUD! Here's Ashton AKA DJ "The Thing" mixing it up!
Then we topped off the night putting on Ashton's new movie "Toy Story" with some popcorn, and he crashed HARD in the middle of it! I think we wore him out, but he had so much fun! It was so cute, all day yesterday Ashton kept thanking us for everything, then in the middle of the night he climbed into bed with us and said, "I really love all of my presents, they are all so fun!" The fun was still on his mind! I'm so glad he had a great birthday!
