Extreme Makeover Benefit Concert!

This past Tuesday, Brayden, my dad and I got to go to a fundraiser concert raising money for the Gomez family who Extreme Makeover built a home for in Daybreak (just finished and revealed yesterday!). It was a really neat thing to be apart of, and the entertainment was amazing! We had so much fun!

Jason Hewlett...this guy is HILARIOUS! He was the MC, but also did acts in between. He's a comedian and does impressions (Elton John in this pic!). I'm ready to go to another one of his shows already! Brayden LOVED him!

Happy Dad's Day!!

We celebrated Father's Day with my dad on Saturday with a BBQ! I am so grateful for the wonderful dad I had growing up! He was always such a fun dad. He was always the one making us big weekend breakfasts and made every single holiday so fun for us, even the small ones, and is the reason I love doing the same for my kids now! He's always joking, and as cheesy as his humor can be, that is also something he has passed on to me! I love you Dad and thank you for everything!

Normally, Father's Day morning the kids have fun making Mike breakfast in bed, but thanks to the horrible weather, our house was really dark so that made the kids sleep in pretty late! Mike and I got a couple extra hours of quiet in the morning, so for Mike, that was even better than breakfast in bed! When the kids finally got up, they couldn't wait to give Mike the things they made him and his presents!

Ashton has been sick, so just Brayden and I went to church, and Mike had "fun" working on our flooding bedroom in the basement problem while we were gone! He even found an earth worm in there, so we knew there has to be a decent hole where the water is coming from. Mike had to pull off part of the wall, the baseboards, and the carpet! It's still a mystery, but until we find where the water is coming from, our bedroom in the basement will look like this!

While Mike was working on our water drainage to help the basement situation, he found these all over our yard!

I had never seen snails here in Utah before, especially not in our yard. The kids thought they were so fun! They went on a snail hunt to find more!

We really enjoyed the day just relaxing as a family. I am so grateful for Mike and for the amazing dad that he is. He would do anything for our kids. The kids love him so much that when he is home they want to be around him at all times! I know it drives him a little crazy, but it just shows that he's doing something right that they love being around him so much. Or, maybe they are just sick of me...either way, they definitely choose hanging out with him over me when he's home! :) I love you Mike and appreciate all that you do for our family!

We will be celebrating Father's Day with Mike's dad next weekend. I am so grateful to him for raising Mike to be such a great husband and father to my kiddos!

Random Picture Catch-up!

I thought I would post some cute random pictures from the past month...

After Ashton's birthday we still had this giant 5 mylar balloon. Ashton wanted so bad to let it go, and both him and Mike thought it would be fun to see how far we could see it. I thought that had to be illegal or littering or some kind of hazard with how big it was or something, but the boys HAD to do it! Ashton thought it was the neatest thing ever! He even called his Nana and Pop to see if they could see it!

We seriously watched it forever since it was so big and shiny! I wondered what people who saw this giant 5 floating around were thinking...

A couple weeks ago the kids got to go to a fun carnival party to celebrate their friends' birthdays. The whole thing was amazing, but the highlight was the kids got to ride a horse! Ashton could not wait for his turn and loved every second of it! Brayden was hesitant at first, but got talked into it and was so glad she finally did it!

Ashton's Nana gave him this wheat grass growing kit on his birthday and he has loved checking it every day to see how much it grew! We couldn't believe how fast it grew in just a week! When it got tall enough he got to decorate it and make it into a monster!

Happy 5th Birthday, Ashton!!!

On Saturday Ashton turned the big 5!!! I can't believe he is 5. He starts kindergarten in 2 months! It's just weird to me! It seems like it was too recent that he was born. He has added so much excitement into our lives these past 5 years. I don't know what I would do without him around to crack me up several times a day. Mike and I were just talking about this, but with everything he does, even things he's not supposed to do, he is so funny (whether he is trying to be or not!)! Of course, some things are definitely not funny at the time, but most are things we can get a good laugh about later. He has got the cutest, sweetest, most fun, outgoing personality! He's my little monkey, my buddy, and my entertainer, and I love him to pieces!! Happy Birthday, Ashton!!!

To celebrate Saturday, I think we had the marathon of all birthday celebrations! Get ready for a ton of pictures...

We started out with Ashton's jungle safari themed birthday party at 10am and we headed to Jungle Jims Playland for the kids to ride rides and play games. They seemed to all have a blast!

Family presents...Ashton just asked for decorations for his bedroom, so that's what he got! Here is a pirate skeleton coin bank!

Ashton got this parrot from Brayden to hang in his room. It repeats what you say! And yes, it does have an "off" switch, thank goodness!

I didn't get pics of his other gifts because after opening the parrot, Ashton didn't care about anything else! But he also got a pirate ship for his room, some candy, and lots of money to spend!

Ashton got to spend the rest of the afternoon having fun with his cousins and friends, then we headed out to his choice for dinner...Red Robin!

He got free mud pie for his birthday! He shared a couple bites, but mostly scarfed the thing down by himself!

After dinner we went and saw "Kung Fu Panda 2". I think Ashton had a pretty amazing birthday!!!
