It's What Fun Is.....

I have gotten a little behind on here with all of our summer happenings, so I'm going to try to kind of work my way backwards with maybe some recent stuff in between until I get all caught up!

A couple of weeks ago, Mike had his work summer party at Lagoon! We hadn't been in years, and have only gone once when we were first married and took the kids once. We haven't had the best experiences there, but this time it was a different story! It makes a huge difference now that the kids are old enough to ride EVERYTHING! I am very happy to say we didn't ride one ride in the kiddieland! Ha ha! Oh, and it wasn't crowded at all! We could almost just walk on to most rides. We got there around 11 a.m. and didn't leave until 9:30 p.m.! It was a crazy long day, and I don't think my back has been the same since, but it was so worth it! :)

We thought it was funny they even needed a sign for this fence! Not too tempting to sit on.....

Mike begged half the day for us to go on the ride "Wicked". It's a rollercoaster that shoots you straight up super high, then straight down, and you flip upside down. The kids were really scared to ride it, then Mike bribed them that we would stay at Lagoon until after dark, and he'd pay them each $5 if they rode it. They were convinced to give it a try, and ended up LOVING it! We rode it twice, and they decided that was their favorite ride!

After Wicked, the kids were wanting to ride every ride they could find that went upside down! After Colossus, a big looping rollercoaster, the kids wanted to try this one that goes around like a rotisserie with a spraying fountain.....I opted out because I didn't feeling like being soaked for the rest of our time there, but Mike was convinced they wouldn't get too wet, so he took the kids on it!

Claustrophobic me really didn't like this ride. Luckily Brayden and I were let off pretty quickly, then we had fun watching Mike and Ashton still dangling there for awhile! Here Mike is, trapped in his cage.....

Celebrating 12 Years...

This past Sunday, August 18th, was Mike and my 12th wedding anniversary! It's so crazy to think we've been married that long. It doesn't feel like that long at all. Since it was Sunday, we didn't really celebrate that day. I did get to teach in Young Women's a lesson which happened to be about marriage, so that was kind of fun to get to tie it into my anniversary that day.

Mike took work off the next day for us to celebrate, and since it was our kids' first day off-track (yeah, they are out of school already!), we decided to let them celebrate our anniversary with us! We started out with an early lunch at an Indian restaurant called Spice Bistro. It's a really cute place, with a yummy lunch buffet!

Indian food never looks very pretty, but Mike, Brayden, and I crave it all the time!

 Of course our picky Ashton refuses to even try it, so he had his order of fries! (How many kids can say they've burned their forehead with a french fry?! My kid can!! Weirdo!)

Then we were off to Park City for the rest of the day! Our first stop was the outlets of course - I don't think we've ever gone to Park City without doing a little shopping trip there! Then we headed to Main Street. My kids' favorite place to stop on Main Street has always been the Park City History Museum store, which has a lot of fun toys and souvenirs, but we've never actually checked out the museum. We decided to finally do it, and it was so worth it! It's a lot bigger than you would think, too. They also had a scavenger hunt for the kids to do. Ashton gave up on it, but Brayden did it and earned herself 2 free pretty rocks she got to pick out in the gift shop. Brayden loved that, but Ashton told us he didn't think it would have been worth it, ha ha! Anyway, we spent hours at this place, it was really fun!

Our favorite part of the museum was the real old jail in the basement which was called The Dungeon! It was eerie and creepy, but very cool!

They had this "wanted" book about real criminals who had been there, and each page was a wanted poster that came to life in a video about themselves!

This is as close as the kids would get to going into the jail cell...

 We ended up meeting up with cousins for dinner, then finished the night with some Subzero ice cream! It may not have been the most romantic anniversary celebration, but we had a lot of fun!
