Last week we decided to check out Liberty Park for the first time ever, and thought it would be fun to visit the Tracy Aviary while we were there. I have to say, I was impressed. It might be because I really wasn't expecting much, but it was bigger than I thought and the birds there were pretty cool. Both of the kids really loved it!

Another thing we did last week was we went to the beach - yeah, a BEACH in Utah! I don't know why it took me so long to find out about this (thanks to a neighbor friend!), but I thought it was pretty cool! Being from Washington we were surrounded by water and all kinds of beaches, and I've missed that more than anything. We gathered our buckets, shovels, Grandma, and Aunt Mindy, and headed to the cute little beach at the top of Herriman! This beach is pretty small, but perfect for the kids! They were in heaven!

What the kids did when I told them it was time to go home.....
This week we took advantage of $2 Tuesdays in August at Thanksgiving Point and headed to The Gardens there. It had been years since we had been, so it was really neat to see it again. I forgot how huge and beautiful that place is! It was extremely hot that day, but worth it!
Of course when the kids see a grassy hill, they HAVE to roll down it!
I was worried Ashton would be bored, but he loved being our map reader and guide!
After The Gardens we were planning on going to the Dinosaur Museum, but it was so crowded, we decided to get ice cream at the little shopping courtyard area instead! Outside the little shops was this tin man thing, which really creeped Brayden out, so of course, being the nice mom that I am, I made her take a picture with it! Here she is doing her best to pose cute with my mom.....

We have had a lot of fun the last couple of weeks, and now we just have one more week to go!
