Go Cougs!

A couple of weekends ago we were in the neighborhood, so we stopped by good ol' BYU. We did the classic annoying parent thing (only our kids aren't old enough to know we're annoying, yet) and showed our kids where we used to live and have classes and where Monica threw up after we went running that one time. This is where I lived when Dustin and I met:
And here are the kinds of things I did in college:

And this is where Dustin lived:

He was slightly more mature than I was (but only because he didn't own any feminine hygiene products to stick to his forehead).
And Jacque (the one with the tampons up her nose) married Tyler (the one with the basket on his head). Isn't college fun?!
Anyway, back to present day. We took our kids on campus, too, and saw turtles and ducks and some crazy college co-eds dressed up in funny clothes, peforming a skit, probably on a date (Ah, to be young and silly and Mormon).
We caused quite the ruckus for those trying to study at the library, as all people with small children should do.

And we ate some yummy ice cream from the Creamery (graham canyon for me. Mmmm.). And we sang the fight song with our kids on the drive home. I do love the Cougars of BYU.

Pets And Labor Day Surprises

Did you know that my children REALLY want a pet? Well, they do. We already have chickens. Aren't those cute, cuddly pets? And we've already let them catch as many of these pets as they want:

What more could a child want? Fish. They want fish. They have been saving for their $1.99 fish for months (they got distracted from the live ones when they saw Fur Real Pets and used their savings on those, which made them have to wait a little longer). But the wait was worth it!

Our newest pets are named Pongo, Midnight, Flame and Speedy or Chloe (I can't keep up). We have kept these alive for 4 whole days and I'm hopeful for the next 4.

Over Labor Day weekend we made a quick trip to Denver to see our niece, Emma, get baptized. It was a quick trip, but a really fun trip.

I bet you can't guess who got the short gene in Dustin's family (to pass on to his children).

It was great to see family. When we got home, our pet chickens gave us a welcome home present:

Hurray for pets!
