Exciting things have been happening in February. Ryan got braces!! (He wasn't all that excited, and Grant was even less excited because he wanted to get them, too, but won't for a couple of more years.)
Avery went to a Sweethearts Dance.
They actually had two Sweethearts Dances. The first boy she asked ended up with a swim meet that night, so her and a couple of the girls did a second dance a week later. Because, when life gives you the Corona lemon of having to make your own high school dances, you make lemonade and do as many Sweethearts Dances as you want!
Grant had a Valentine's Party at school!
Dustin and I went on a little getaway. We stayed in Eden at the Snowberry Inn. We finally started getting some snow in Utah, and this was a cozy little Bed and Breakfast up in the mountain.
Dustin killed me in pool, but I made up for it by beating him at foosball.
There was a delicious breakfast the next morning, and then we headed out and found a great little hike by Pineview Reservoir. Dustin had the foresight to throw in our snow clothes, which saved us on this winter hike!
Valentine's Day was on a Sunday. That night we had Lana over for dinner and games.
The day after Valentine's Day was President's Day, so we went sledding with the kids in the mountains near our house. This is actually a mountain road that we like to walk up for an hour or so, and then sled back down. The weather and snow were perfect! And we didn't get eaten by any cougars, so that was a bonus.
That night the Valentine's Lady came to visit, but she was a little different this year... Corona has gotten everyone a little nervous. She made sure the kids stayed 6 feet away, and instead of candy, she threw sanitizer, tissues, vitamin c drops, masks and other helpful items. You can never be too safe!
And she gave sticker kisses instead of the real thing.
We finally get to start having in person young women activities!

Exciting News!! Avery got accepted to BYU! We are so happy for her. She has worked really hard all through school and this has always been her goal. So crazy that we are going to have a college student soon!
The boys and I went on a Valentine's date, while Dustin and the girls went on their own date. And this beautiful winter's moon was peeking over the mountain while we drove. We went to dinner and then played laser tag at Boondocks. It was fun! We like this tradition. Dustin and the girls went to dinner and wandered the mall for their date.
It is very exciting that we are now in March! I love this time of year, when their is hope of Spring. We have had a lot of snow over the last few weeks, but then the sun comes out and warms everything up and melts it off my driveway. I can handle snow this time of year!
