I Love Seasons

 

I am so glad we live in an area where you can really feel the change in the season.  We took the kids on a little hike today and the Autumn colors were amazing!  The leaves were so beautiful, the temperature was beautiful, it smelled beautiful.  I told my kids that I am a mountain girl.  Except for the spiders.  And aggressive mountain wildlife.  And the potential of getting lost.  And having to use the bathroom multiple times a night.  Other than that, I am totally a mountain girl.  I LOVE the mountains (and the rolling hills...).  Right now, I think that Fall is my favorite season.

Here is another happy Fall event:

My dear hubby is 34 now.  There is no getting around it, he is in his mid-30's.  I'm only a step behind him.  The good news is that mid-30's don't sound near as old now as they did 10 years ago.  I guess that's the great thing about aging: it's all relative.  For his cake, Dustin requested something with gummy worms.  In case you can't tell (which is very likely), the lady on the cake is Medusa.  For Dustin's birthday, he gave me multiple fixed drains in my house.  And he was in charge of the kids while I ran errands.  What a good man.  I love him lots.  And lots.

We're Ready!

Our dear, sweet Grandmotherly neighbor across the street loves my children and also loves to spend money on people other than herself.  That combination makes us win a lot.  She came over a couple of days ago and informed me that she always buys winters clothes for a family and this year the family is us!  Wow, ok!  She is so giving.  Within a few hours, she had brought over new hats, gloves, boots, a coat (for Grant) and clothes for our little family.  I hope that someday I can be as giving as she is.  She is awesome.  The kids have wanted to wear their new snow stuff every day.  I'm hoping that there won't be a real need for it for a little while longer.  Christmas, yes.  Freezing temperatures, no.
