Okay so it was like a month in the making but I finally got around to blogging about our trip to california. Steve and I set out on Wednesday night and stopped in Mesquite, NV(the almost halfway mark) and stayed at the Oasis Hotel and Casino.
Honestly, it wasn't the worst place we've stayed, especially for $30 a night with free breakfast buffet. We got in late, pretty much just relaxed and I saw my first cockroach ever-luckily not in the room.
The next day we left early, got to LA and only got semi lost once. We were going to be staying with my aunt and uncle in Culver City, an awesome suburb of LA and the perfect middle ground for all our sightseeing. We spent the first afternoon in Santa Monica at the Pier.
We took the ferris wheel up to see the pretty scenery.
Then we walked along the pier and saw all the people and birds and I loved being near the ocean again. I am so a coastal girl.

The next day Steve and I went all through LA, mostly shopping at H&M and Amoeba music, also we went to china town, the garment district and in the evening we drove through Beverly Hills and Bel-Air. It was cool to see all the huge houses. That night we headed over to the Getty Museum-granted a little late-for a concert featuring No Age, a local indie band. The concert was free and so was admission and we arrived way late due to a mishap in parking. We did see our one and only celebrity.
Steve spotted Jaleel White, AKA Steve Urkel from Family Matters. Not totally crazy but still, its something.
Saturday we spent in Disneyland and California Adventure. My uncle works for Disney through ESPNradio and he got us in for free. Our favorite rides were Space Mountain, Thunder Mountain and the new Toy Story arcade game in 3D. We went on that one twice and I beat Steve both times! I also loved the water rapids ride in California Adventure but Steve got so wet, it was kind of a bummer.
Oh cool tidbit, there is a secret club in Disneyland. Its a restaurant that you have to be a member or know a member to even get a reservation in. This is the door leading to it, Club 33. its located in New Orlean's Square right next to that restaurant where you can eat in the Pirate's of the Caribbean ride.
Sunday morning we went back to the Getty for an hour before heading south to San Diego where my grandpa lives.
The Getty was gorgeous and free so if you are in LA, there is no excuse, go see it.
In San Diego, we spent time with my grandparent's, parent's and we went to the beach where we both got a little too much sun.
Overall, the trip was so fun and hopefully we can get back down there again and do all the stuff we didn't have time to do before.
Okay so I am caught up in my TV after girl's camp. For Project Runway, my favorites are Kenley, she did the tight dress with the high collar this week, Suede, he won the challenge with the woven fabric dress and I also like Kelly, she is the blonde with a funky girly style. I think Blaine is annoying and that he is trying to make himself like Christian, the winner from last year.
Yeah Aaron for winning The Next Food Network Star. I knew he could do it.
