Back to another busy week of summer. Monday morning I took a couple pictures of Michelle.
This was the best one.
I don't know what else we did, but we must have gone swimming since I took this picture.
At some point in the day I realized Michelle was 9 months old, so I took these pictures.

We harvested our first corn - the volunteers. Some looked good others did not.
Tuesday was another fairly normal day. Now if you are wondering why I don't have many details it's because I rely on various media to remind me what happened; Facebook posts, photos, emails, and texts. Aaron and I recently got new phones, and I lost all of the texts that were on the old phone, so I can't go back and see what happened on certain days. Perhaps I shouldn't let months pass before I blog!!!
So pictures for Tuesday:
I got a call from Carol P* that evening asking if she could come by with Elder C* parents. They wanted to meet Aaron. He was on a work call until 9:00, so I had them come after that. Elder C* had been in our ward for a while, and his mom was close by visiting a family he had taught about a year ago or so. She and her husband decided to drive through and see where he was and visit people while trying to avoid where he would be. So they came over and visited for a while. She told us about taking pictures of missionaries and send them to their parents. So Aaron suggested we take a picture with them and show it to Elder C*. Carol took our picture.
Wednesday was another busy day with packing for a camping trip and getting the house and yard (mostly the yard) ready for the swimming party for mutual. I think I did some last minute shopping. That night we had about 12 youth over. I think Kaitlyn was the only girl, but she didn't go swimming. They enjoyed some snacks and although the girls didn't go swimming, they did have something to eat. I can never get the kids to bed on time on Wednesdays!
Thursday morning Aaron went to work, and I made sure everyone was packed and that we had all of the food we needed. We loaded up the Yukon, picked up ice and dropped off the dog food to Brayden (did I mention we have a new family in the ward???). Then came home in time for Aaron to change clothes, pack the last few things and then we headed out of our camping trip!
Friday night I took a video of Michelle climbing the stairs. She's actually been doing it for several weeks, but I finally got it on video.
Saturday was busy with chores etc. I got updates from Aaron occasionally. Here are some pictures from the climb.

That evening was the ward Pioneer Day picnic. Aaron said he would meet us there. It was fun. The kids got wet. Including David who didn't want to get wet because he was going to the stake dance afterward. He was a little frustrated since he had asked them not to spray him. At least it was just water. Eventually Aaron arrived. David wanted to go right then, but Aaron needed to eat, and talk to a few people. We had tried in vain to find another ride for him, but it was either Aaron take him on an exhausting day, or I drive him with Michelle coming with me and mess up her sleep schedule.
With as late as they left Aaron decided just to stay there rather than come home, do something for 30 minutes and then drive back. Poor guy, he was exhausted. Hopefully next time we'll plan better. I wish the dances weren't 30 minutes away! While Aaron was gone I got the kids in bed. It was a late night for all of us.
Sunday Aaron had meetings and we went to
church. The girls actually wanted me to do their hair. After having Auntie Eva do their hair they were excited to have me do it. I guess I didn't keep asking after they refused to have me do it. Both wanted braids.
I think that was the morning Michelle got a huge goose egg. I
was brushing Amy's hair while we were in my room. Michelle had pulled
herself to stand on Aaron's roll top desk. Then she slipped on a
magazine and she hit the corner of the desk. She screamed and I immediately
picked her up and was amazed as I watched the spot turn purple and grow
right before my eyes. I put some ice one it, which she did not enjoy,
but it helped immensely. Poor girl. So I brought Michelle to church with a huge bump and bruise on her head.
Sacrament meeting was great. It was also our second Teacher Development Course during Sunday School. Then I taught a lesson on The Gift of the Holy Ghost. After church was a pot luck. I had forgotten until that morning so I ended up bringing a huge bag of popcorn (Boom Chicka Pop from Costco) and a salad I think. There wasn't quite as much food that time, and I made a mental note to bring more next time. It was still plenty for everyone. Timothy was upset that he didn't get a dessert because he hadn't grabbed one at the beginning. Then while he was pulling garbage, someone brought out ice cream, but I couldn't find him, so he missed that too. Poor kid. He had a rough day. We were still able to have a great FHE lesson later and a simple dinner.
Monday July 18th I took some pictures of the garden, but apparently only got half of the garden!

Wednesday - still no internet so David wanted to play Risk. Timothy, Amy and I joined in. Amy wasn't too thrilled with the game. And gave up rather quickly. I ended up defeating her and taking all of her cards. After that it was only a matter of time. David was not happy because at first Timothy was winning. Then David started coming back. However in the end I conquered the world, and I have to say I was impressed that David finished the entire game until every last country had been conquered. By then everyone was ready for lunch. But it was only 10:30! Eventually we ate lunch. That day I decided to pull out the box of 9 month clothes. There weren't as many as I thought there were, but I found one of my favorite outfits that all my girls have worn.

I neglected to mention that David had been taking care of Trisha T*'s dog for her while she was working at scout camp. Either Aaron or I would take him 3 times a day to feed, water and/or walk Molly. He was happy to be earning some money. However Wednesday there was a slight problem as he left the water running. We had to go over and help Heather clean up the mess. That meant I really didn't have time to make any dinner, and all we had was a salad that I had prepared. We ate it quickly and then I took the boys to mutual (youth group).
While I was searching for Michelle's 9 month clothes I found two or three bins of clothes the boys had outgrown. So I decided to give them to Becca. I stuffed them into 5 garbage bags, and planned to give them to Eva to take back to Becca.
Thursday by noon we finally had internet!!! What a pain that was. We had to call them at least 3 times before it was fixed. Eva was coming back and would be here that afternoon. We were trying to keep it a surprise, but the kids were too smart. After I made the arrangements for her to stay here I remembered that Aaron and I had been invited to an interview dinner. There was a pediatric candidate and his wife in town. So after Eva arrived and settled in, I had her watch the kids. I had made a pizza crust, and she and the kids put the pizza together and cooked it up for dinner.
While the kids had fun with Auntie Eva, Aaron and I got to know the pediatrician and his wife and little girl. They are originally from BC and wanted to move closer to home. They had a couple of other interviews scheduled during the same trip. They seem really nice and I good fit, so I hope it works out. We enjoyed the dinner (I had the Mahi Mahi - so good!). Michelle just wanted to eat the bread off the table. I did get her to eat some of the veggies I had brought. We also enjoyed talking with everyone there (Aaron and Erin A*, Brian and Louise U*, Joshua and Courtney S*). Eventually it was getting late and Michelle was tired, so we headed home. Aaron and I talked on the phone the whole way home.
When we got home the kids were in bed, but I said good night to them. Eva and I ended up staying up rather late talking. It was good to have her here. Meanwhile Aaron got ready for his mountain climbing adventure.
Friday morning Aaron left for work, and I got breakfast for the kids. Eva got to sleep in - yay! The kids were sure excited when she woke up and they got to play with her. She even did the girls' hair - something they never let me do! I took a few pictures before she headed home.

Eva made some food for the road, and then she headed out. When Aaron got home that afternoon he changed clothes made sure he had everything packed and then headed over to Lincoln's house. They left around 3:00 or so to drive to the trail head. They ate some dinner and then started the first leg of the hike to lunch counter where they would camp for the night. There were 4 of them: Lincoln, Loren, and a friend of Lincoln's from work, Blake.
That night we just did baths and and showers and that's about it.
