The TOSH race series was trying to get more runners, so they offered up a 10k for $20 so Karen and I decided to run it, and our friend Ashley Forbes joined us. 

I don't remember why I was there for Mike and Lynette's Jazz date, but here we all are. Mike and his two favorite old ladies. :)

Playing blog catch up. (I should probably stop stating that, since I'm pretty much always playing blog catch. New years resolution, get caught up) In May I went with Adam's class on a field trip to Wheeler Farm. I really like accompanying him on these little outings. Makes me realize all of my boys...energy... is completely normal. :) I remember it was unusually cold that day, but we all had fun.

Happy Mother's Day (to me)

Every year I get sweet gifts from my kids that I stare at for a while and then they get put into a box and I don't see them again. I decided to take pictures of my treasures so I can see them whenever I want. Most of these are from this year, but I'm sure some are from past years as well.

After church we visited Erik as well. One of the kids gave him a starburst. (I think. It's January 2018, and once again, I forget so many details when I try to blog seven months after the event. New years resolution, blog every Sunday so I remember the fun, quirky things that happen.)

Ragnar Trail Zion- You got Chicked! part deux

This past weekend my team returned for our second year at Ragnar Trail Zion. We took second in our division last year and this year we managed to get first place for all women's teams. If we'd been a mixed team, we still would have taken fourth. We had two ladies that couldn't make it, Andrea and Becky, so we had two awesome replacements, Kiera and Shauna. The thing I love about these ladies, besides how great they all are, is how much fun we have together.

Mike and I had just bought our pop up and I decided to bring it to the race since we weren't able to get a cabin. Shauna and Nikki slept in a tent, but the rest of us snuggled up together. (I actually had the table bed all to myself. Perks of being the owner I guess) I talked some ladies in my neighborhood into signing up as well, so we were sister teams and enjoyed supporting each other.

We arrived early Thursday afternoon and drove through Zion National Park on our way to dinner in Springdale. We've gone to Zion Pizza and Pasta the last couple years and it's now our tradition. (Unless the ladies decide next year they want to go somewhere else) ;) 

We added to our "You just got chicked!" socks with matching tanks and headbands. Next year it's shorts or tutus. I requested we dress up before our run for pictures, but someone wisely pointed out that we should be matching when we cross the finish line. (I guess that means we'll all be sweaty and gross, but it will look better as we run in the last lady)

One of the race photographers got this picture of me. It's of my back side and yet I still like it. 

The yellow loop is my favorite of the three and this year was no exception. I ate it pretty hard, but it led to an almost satisfying sense of earning the win. :)

There's a company called Elevated Legs that allows you to pay for compression leg massages. This one was the glute massage, but it was still nice.

Her we are running Robin in. We had such a blast. I love these ladies and look forward to our race and victory dinner each year.

This is our victory dinner once Ragnar finally sent out our belt buckles. It always takes about a week for them to calculate the winner correctly. 

Kids Spring Piano Recital

The first Saturday in May was the kid's Spring Recital. It was held at the Legacy Retirement home again, which I always love. (Although we always need about twice as many seats) :)

 Sarah was up first and played "Castle on a Cloud" from Les Miserables. It was beautimus! She always gets so nervous, even if she doesn't need to. :)

Steven played "Hedwig's Theme" from Harry Potter. He did great as well. (of course) He invited his teacher, Miss Humbert, and I was so impressed that she came. 

 After the recital we went to a pizza buffet, which is always considered the best thing ever and Miss Humbert even joined us.

Chance Starley Meeting

We stored our pop up trailer at a lot near Camp Williams. As we were driving it there I saw two helicopters that looked like ones Andy flew. I sent him a text asking if it was him, and sure enough, it was. The boys got to chat for a few minutes. Andy was on his annual training, meaning he'd been out of town, so it was a nice coincidence.
