Epic Aloha at Hilton Hawaiian Village

My friend Hannee want to check out Epic Aloha at Hilton Hawaiian Village.  It's 12 rooms decorated differently especially for photography.  The rooms have cool themes, some rooms are small and others large.  It is definitely a great place to shoot.  We were there for two and a half hours and only made it to the tenth room.  We only left because I had a class to attend.  The price is a little steep but they do have discounts.  They credited us one hour parking but it still came out to $16.

Spinning Steel Wool

I always wanted to shoot spinning burning steel wool.  I finally got my chance with a Meetup group the other week.  I also tried to capture the blue sky created by the setting sun after it dips below the horizon.  In one of my shots someone walked across my camera with a small red flashlight, it created a cool shakey red line.  I think this was my best shot.

Aiko's New Dresses

Fashion designer Aiko recruited Mintyfoxu to help model her newest dresses.  We headed for a bamboo grove, unfortunately the trail was overgrown and impossible to enter so ended up at a closed elementary school.  It turned out to be a great place to shoot, the dogs loved it too.

Kakaako Graffiti and Cool Buildings 2018

We toured the newly painted graffiti and cool buildings in and around Kakaako.  The sky was overcast, shadowless and perfect for day of outdoor photography.  I used my little near bottom of the line Fujifilm X-E2 with a polarizer mounted 18mm-55mm lens.  With some heavy Photoshopping I think the photos look fine.  Can't wait for the next overcast day.  

Kawaii Kon 2018

Kawaii Kon 2018 is here, this year we attended both Friday and Saturday.  On Friday it looked like a ghost town, Saturday was the complete opposite.  It was so crowded, so many great costumes to shoot.  I actually got more shots Friday because I didn't have to compete with other photographers.  Weird how that worked out.  Anyway this is a great event to shoot.
