Fun on the Farm

After returning from Mexico, Sis and her family and some of there dear friends made the journey to Paragould for some time on the farm. They made it just in time for the last day of picking cotton. The boys loved riding on the cotton picker and Alden loved playing in the dirt! We had a great weekend of friends and family visiting and even managed to fit in a hayride and of course roasted hot dogs! The weekend rounded up by a short trip to Pumpkin Hollow due to the rain - but the kids didn't seem to care! We sure had a great time! Come back soon!

Celebrating 10 years~


Doug and I celebrated our 10th anniversary by taking a trip to Playa del Carmen, Mexico earlier this month. We had a wonderful trip with some of our great friends - Mark & Dusti and Monte & Mandy. They, too, were celebrating the big 10! We really missed not having our friends Eric & Nicole, who were not able to go at the last minute due to job duties. :o(
We stayed at the Royal, an all-inclusive resort . . . and it was great! It did rain quite a bit, but there was still something relaxing about being at the beach and having NOTHING to do! We enjoyed nightly dinners with our friends and spending the days by the beach and pool and doing a little shopping in between! The best part was having people waiting on you all the time - now if I could just figure out how to do that at home! Here's to 10 more years!

Last night was a first for us. Doug and I attended an Arkansas State University football game together. We still love those hogs, but since we are in the northeast part of the state now, we feel we should at least support our Indians! They played University of Memphis - which has come to be a pretty big rival. We won 35 to 31! The 1st half looked hopeless for us, but the tribe came back in the 2nd half! We're planning on going to see another game in October when they play a conference game against Troy State. A friend of ours plays for the Trojans so it will be a double treat!

Today Levi and Doug enjoyed helping out with harvest! Levi had his first ride on the cotton picker with Dad and Mr. Cliff. Mom, Levi and I went and got Sonic burgers for the guys and went out to the fields for supper! (And not to forget the iced honey buns, too!) Harvest arrived early this year for cotton, but it's always my favorite time of year! Hopefully the wind and cooler weather will arrive soon to really make it seem like fall!

Ode to Kelly

This past weekend Doug, Levi and I had the honor of driving through Flippin - the hometown of Mrs. Kelly Martin Stamps! We spent the weekend in Yellville and on Sunday we ate at Diego's Mexican Restaurant in Flippin! Couldn't help but think of Kelly . . . . this one's for you!

It's hard to believe that July has come and gone! Levi and I were able to travel a bit with Doug and also spent time with family! Allison and her kids came to visit for a week or so and the kids were so excited! They did really well playing with each other. We took them for a visit to the Crowleys Ridge Nature Center one day and they all enjoyed getting to spend their time on the gator. Levi just figured out he was able to drive it - watch out! Alden was holding on for dear life! We love spending time with all our family! My side of the family will head to Gulf Shores in a couple of weeks! I can't wait!

Yesterday my niece, Alden Claire Kennedy, celebrated her 1st birthday! We all traveled to Texas to attend the birthday party - which was very pink and girly!!

Her arrival surprised us early last year and she is such the princess in the family! We love her so much! Happy Birthday Alden!

Well, miracles still happen. I'm finally updating my blog and posting! This summer has been extremely busy - but that's a great thing! Doug has been at camps since the last week of May. Levi and I spent two weeks with him in Florida and were able to go to Siloam with him as well. Next week we will travel with him to Camp Windermere in Missouri for a kids camp! He'll wrap up camps in a few weeks and then is doing some revivals and retreats through the end of August - when we'll finally get to go to Gulf Shores for our family vacation!!!

Levi was able to go to his first VBS this year! I was helping in a room, so he attended his own 2 yr. old class! Here is a picture of his crown he made. He loved wearing it!

We are so blessed to have our ministry and family. God is so good~

Levi celebrated his 2nd birthday on May 16th. However, it seemed like we partied forever with different people! We had music class friends and library time friends along with the family. It's hard to believe he's two! Time flies by! Here are some party pics!

Daffodil Days and Birthdays

Me-Maw recently celebrated her 85th birthday! The family all went out during lunch time to take flowers, gifts and yummy birthday cake! Levi is always a hit at the nursing home - he doesn't meet a stranger! He helped pick the beautiful daffodils to put in the arrangement we made for her. I remember picking those flowers when Allison and I were little and mom would drive around until we found some to take home. What great memories - hope I'm beginning to help make great ones for Levi!

To God Be The Glory - Great Things He Has Done!

Well - not that many view this blog, but I apologize anyway for the lack of posting on it! It has been a whirlwind for us these past two months! Most notable is Doug's graduation from Southwestern Seminary! He received his Master of Arts degree!! Here we are on graduation day - I'm so proud of him! We have now moved to Paragould, Arkansas and Doug is traveling full time speaking to youth and churches and I'm enjoying being home with Levi and close to family. (Although, I miss my sister and her family very much!!)

We had a great Christmas and are now trying to settle into our house between Doug's engagements. It may take us all spring to unpack the boxes, but I'm willing to work with that! Happy 2007 to everyone - may God make His face shine upon you!
