Happy Birthday To Me!

Happy Birthday to me!

Happy Birthday dear me...
Happy Birthday to me!

It seems like forever ago that Pooh threw for me one of the grandest birthday parties of all time! Now it is one year later and Pooh has helped to make my birthday great again! Pooh loves birthdays. I do not. With that said, today was as great a birthday as I have ever had. I am one who enjoys a low key birthday. Today was perfect. I woke up to breakfast with Pooh, The Lou and my Mum. Pooh made Liege waffles with Nutella, strawberry freezer jam and whipped cream topping. Of course, bacon made an appearance as it should in every meal! HAHA!

After breakfast, Mum watched The Lou while Pooh and I went to the church to clean. It was relaxing, though I knew I would pay for it. Lately my arthritis is CRAZY annoying. By the time I got home, my body was beat...from vacuuming! Ridiculous! I endured long enough to open presents with my girls (which has grown to include my Mum along with Pooh and The Lou). I was spoiled rotten. My Mum got me a snowball launching apparatus for use at the cabin. It looks pretty fun. My Mom-in-law and Dave got me a check and a fun card. Aunt Kate and Uncle Vern gave me money and a nice card.

Pooh gave me a bunch of presents with an antiqued travel theme. First she gave me a framed vintage travel poster for Yosemite National Park to hang at the cabin. She also gave me an old small travel suitcase with vintage stickers on it. Inside was a variety of treats from around the globe such as Fiji Bottled Water from Fiji, Chiclets from Mexico, Non-Pariels from France, Milano cookies from Italy, shortbread cookies from Scotland and chocolates from Switzerland. Very creative as usual. She also gave me two photo collage frames filled with old timey travel photos she had taken. They are below.

After opening presents, my body had had enough so I retired to bed at noon and slept until 4pm. It felt good to rest, but unfortunately, I didn't feel any better when I awoke. My new medicine is not working as well as the old prescription and I sadly have never felt worse. I shouldn't complain. I know many who have it worse off than I do and they probably complain less. Enough of the pity potty. I played with The Lou for a little while and took a few birthday wishes on the phone, facebook and at the door. I am overwhelmed at the well wishes. Pooh brought dinner in and it was good. I have put The Lou to bed (three times now) and am currently writing this blog to further procrastinate my lesson preparation. All in all, it was a great birthday. One in which I was reminded how blessed I am in all the areas of life that matter most.

The pictures were taken by Curtis and DeenaVanAusdal of VanAusdal Photography. I highly suggest you use their services.

People have asked how I came up with the name of my blog, mostblessedman. Isn't this obvious?! I am the most blessed man and today helped to validate that once again.
