Leah's Last Hoorah!

I am so bad at procrastinating.  Leah's last cheer competition was in October and I am just now getting around to posting it.  Mostly so I have the photos documented.  My commentary is weak after so much time has passed.  Nonetheless, I love this little girl and enjoy watching her cheer, so much so, that I will endure many other cheer routines involving cheerleaders I care little about or not at all, just for the opportunity to support my Leah.

Dax looks up to his big Sister, both literally and figuratively.

If you like it, say " Go Big Red".  GO BIG RED!

Leah's squad waiting for their time on the mat.

Before their time in the limelight, they bordered the mat to cheer for one of their older squads.

Patiently waiting their turn to rock it!

A pre-cheer team cheer

Taking their places enthusiastically!

Go Cavemen!

Leah was excited that she got to be the top of the pyramid.

She kept looking for us on the opposite side of the gym.

And now they wait for trophy announcements.

Yeah!  Their squad took first place.  Note - They were the only participants in their division.  ;)

Leah loves her coach Kensie.  She mentions her often even two months after cheer ended.

Gathering Dust

As I do my best to catch up with my blogging (I just finished November...you know, that page on the calendar 43 days ago?!), I realize I have a handful of pictures that have gathered in the corners of my desktop that I need to document and store.  In no particular order, I give you October and November!

Leah and I were going to go run some errands on a lazy Saturday and so I told her to
put on some pants and pointed out that there might be some pants to wear in the nearby
laundry basket that was waiting to be folded.  This was her solution.

Leah at Kneaders on our weekly Daddy Daughter Saturday Morning Date.
We ditched Paradise Bakery this particular week.

Dax has begun doing this thing in the middle of dinner where he stops eating, reaches over,
grabs his Mother and pulls her close for a random hug.

Sarah took the kids to see Minions.

This is us at Leah's school in her class.  She was "Star of the Week" so we got to attend
her class, bring treats and listen to her tell her class more about her and answer their
questions.  I am so proud of this little girl.

Leah and her teacher, Mrs. Wensel.  She loves her teacher and she is learning so well.

This is Dax at the hospital when we went to visit his newest cousin, Reagan.

Reagan.  She's beautiful.

A photo of the kids on a random Saturday.  They love driving to church on Sunday.  Our
building is just up the street so we don't make them use car seats.  It's a special treat for them.

Leah began piano lessons this year.  Here she is practicing for her first recital.

I'm not sure what is going on here, but I think they might be having a dance-like-Mick-Jagger contest.

Leah won two trophies with her cheer squad.  I'll post pics from that on another blog entry.

This kid is learning to talk so much and so well.

As well as he is communicating, sometimes he prefers non-verbal communication.

Leah and I drew pictures for Aunt Kathy.

Leah drew this picture for her best friend, Margot.

Out to eat with the Ashbys.

Dax taking advantage of a photo op with his Sister before her final competition.

Grandma Tine visited a lot.  It was nice to have her around.  It's possible we see her more now that
she's moved to Arizona than we she lived here!

Dax built a fort in his bed.

Sarah and Leah went to get their nails done at a nail school.  They did an awful
job so Leah did her own.  Not bad.
