We Don't Need No Stinkin' Beavers...

I know I owe you a post about important things like 1) Daddy's birthday and 2) Thanksgiving, but the biggest football game in the state of Oregon's history is breaking news, so it is just going to have to come first.

Congratulations to the Ducks on winning the Civil War, taking the Pac-10 title, and making it to the Rose Bowl. Last time Oregon was there, so was Mama! That was before she went to college! She's so old, that had to be like a million years ago!



We had fun watching, and I'm looking forward to a good weekend where I can catch up on my posts and get ready for the December holidays.

Pandamic in the Cul-de-sac

Happy Belated Halloween!



I went trick or treating up and down our cul-de-sac, but I didn't get any treats because Mama and Daddy say I'm not old enough for high fructose corn syrup, even if the makers say, "It's made from corn, doesn't have artificial ingredients, and like sugar, it's fine in moderation."

That's why I fully expect them to feed me raw sugar daily!

Anyway, it was still fun to see the other costumed kids and, as always, I like being the center of attention.



My parents joined in the fun too and Mama dressed up as Birdie cat. Daddy dressed up like a middle-aged office-worker.

Worst. Cookie Jar. Ever

So, Mama and I went to the zoo, and watched the elephants and tigers play with their big orange yummy cookie jars:



When we got home, I was so excited, because Dad and Mama said I could open the one I picked out at the pumpkin patch last week:

Miles Visits the Great Pumpkin (or not), Part II

I had an awesome week.

Last weekend I got a visit from Grandma Carolyn! She came down on the train, just because I'm cute :)



Here are some pictures from her visit:







Mom and Daddy also took me for our annual trip to the pumpkin patch. Last year, I slept through the Great Pumpkin's visit, but this year I stayed awake the whole trip and somehow still missed him.

Lucky me, I got to see some chickens up close instead:





And took a ride on a tractor (I may have sold them short at the 4th of July... big wheels and loud noises are cooler than I first thought).



I was also more into the face cutout photo op than at our tulip trip or our beach trip:



We also repeated "Where's Miles," but some people said last year's was a little hard, so I didn't dress like a pumpkin this year:



Oh, and I picked out a perfect pumpkin:



Unfortunately, I couldn't carry it, so Daddy picked me and the pumpkin up. He's so strong:



Then Mom and Daddy let me take home the biggest pumpkin I could carry! I was so happy:



I can't wait for Halloween!

Happy Birthday...

...To Mom! She turned old this week.

It was a busy birthday week. We started off by celebrating our cats turning 7 on the 25th, then I turned 1 on the 26th (I'm such a copy cat), then Mom's birthday was the 28th, and Cousin Ben's birthday was on the 29th. Whew. Did I mention that my Uncle Tristan turned not as old as Mom on the 14th?! Lots of September babies!

We had a little shindig to celebrate me, and I got my first cupcake! Yum!



I got to eat it off the ground and out of my hair:

Now that I'm a big kid, I'm not going to do my official birthday photos each month. Never fear, I'll pose occassionally and we'll still have regular posts, so you'll still get to watch me grow. Frankly, I've just grown tired of my mom insisting the sign is not a toy, so I'm taking a break. Here's how successful this month's shoot was:

Before You Know It, I'll Be Dancing!

Hello again!

The last week has been very active, as I'm now practicing standing up on my own as much as possible.

These two pictures were taken less than a second apart:



Mama and Daddy have also been very helpful, standing me up with a wall to lean on, so I can work on strengthening my legs.



Why, you may ask, have I been working so hard to build my leg strength?

Well, yesterday, I went to my first wedding, and I knew I'd get to dance with my favorite girl in the whole wide world.

Near the end of the night, I got a hug from a beautiful girl, dressed all in white. I fell head over heels for her, but Mama said she's already taken. I guess I'll have to settle for second best and woo any future daughter!

Happy Labor Day!

Yay, it's Mommy's favorite holiday!



That's right, after her & my short labor last year, Mommy must love Labor Day.

Being a boy and all, I keep telling her how labor must almost be as hard as pushing a tooth through your gums, which I've now done 8 times (4 top and 4 bottom).



And congrats to Miya, Aubrey, Charles, and Stella for laboring their ways into the world in the last month or so. I can't wait to meet you!



Anyway, in honor of Labor Day, I stood up for myself today. Really! I pulled myself up and stood up! Hopefully we'll get some photos of my new accomplishment soon.

Standing's too much work. Shouldn't there be a union to support me while I stand? Until then, I'm going on strike. If you need me, I'll be sitting and looking through my books:



And, in the original spirit of Labor Day, a big apology in advance to all of Daddy's coworkers who will be laid off in the next couple weeks to year, as Tektronix is outsourcing much of its manufacturing to China. You can see the shock on my face. If I share my balloon with you, will it help you feel better?



In other news, the Ringling Bros' Circus is coming into town this month and I'm practicing to be the seal's understudy! I don't have to stand for this job!
