Cali trip day 2

Disneyland Day! Today Shawn, Joseph, Kyle and I headed to Disneyland. We got a pass and went and did both Disneyland and California Adventure on the same day...we are quick. The day was perfect the weater was in the low 70's and the longest line we waited in was 35 minuets, cant ask for anything better then that!Here we are waiting in line for the Jungle Cruise, the first ride we went on, I used to love this ride as a little kid, but I have realized that it is pretty lame when you are older. I still thought it was cute, but the boys were not impressed.

Shawns favorite was Space Mountain and Kyle just loved them all (he had not been to Disneyland since he was 5) so he just loved everything, and Joseph's favorite was the dropping elevator one. We also loved Indiana Jones, Splash Mountain, the Matehorn, and Pirates of the Carribean.

here we all are on the water rapids ride that was at California Adventures, this was my favorite at California Adventures, we loved it so much we went on it a few times, and got wet each time.
And here I am next the the "C" for California. All in all we all agreed that we liked Disneyland better then California Adventure. The rides were great, the food was expensive and not good, the lines were short, and the day was perfect.

California here we come!

We were in need of a little vacation. Shawn is going to be going to school year around, and we had 5 days in between the end of finals to when Shawn would start spring term, so we decided to take a road trip down to Southern California. Shawn and I invited our two younger brothers, Kyle and Joseph to come with us. We planned on driving to stay the first two nights with Cheryl, my roomate and friend for the last 6-7 years. Her and her husband and baby live in Aliso Viejo and are just amazing. We all loved playing with little Allie, who loves to smile and wave to everyone and who looks just like her daddy. Cheryl and Scott took on all 4 of us and we invaded her house, and WE had a great time. I just hope she was able to get her house put back together after we left. Thank you Cheryl and Scott and Allie for letting us play with you for a few days.

Cali Trip day 3

On day tree we drove down to San Diego where Cheryl's mom, Bonnie, got us some Sea World tickets and chicken sandwiches...thank you!!! We got into Sea World around 10 and enjoyed a nice sunny day with lots of sea creatures and two fun water rides. Here is Sahwn and I waiting for the dolphin Show to start.

Here is a picture of Kyle after the Sahwmu Show. We got soaked! We tried to sit high enough to not get wet but still close enough to have a good view. Well that plan did not work to well. It was the very end of the show and I was pleased to still be very dry, then I was not paying attention because I was texting, Amy Vonk-sorry again that I couldnt babysit- and then out of no where this stupid whale comes up and soakes us with nasty whale water. We were covered in water, I am surprised that my phone did not get ruined. We decided to go on the 2 water rides that Sea World has since we were already wet. Luckily it was a warm sunny day so we were able to dry within a few hours.
And here we are waiting for the Seal and Otter show to start, this one was my favorite. It is so amazing what they can get these animals to do. We walked out of Sea World around 3 that afternoon and were tired but very satisfied that we had seen everything and done everything that we wanted to do. We are just very brief as we look at all the animals

Cali Trip day 4

After some long busy days driving and going to Disneyland and Sea world, it was nice to have a day to relax at the beach. Our little group spent the night in San Diego after Sea World and spent the next day enjoying the La Jolla shores. The water was cold, but the weater was nice and sunny. Shawn got in the water for a bit, but froze afterwards becasue we did not have any towels. Here is my hubby and I at the beach, I have the craziest sun burn patch on my chest where I did not put any sun screen.

And here is Shawn long boarding down the side walk at the beach. We left San Diego around 2, to try and beat the traffic rush. We went up to Rancho Santa Margarita where my cousin Kjerten and her cute little family lives. We got up to there house that afternoon and went swimming with her kids and our other cousins that were in town. It worked out perfect that my uncle Todd was also in So Cal with his 3 oldest daughters, and my cousin John and his new fiance, Kylie, and their two friends were also in town. And Kjersen and Chris have 4 kids, Kennidy who just turned 8 while we were there, Madison, crazy Carter, and the sweetest little baby McKinnley who was only 1 month old. We had a full house but it was so fun to be together.

California day 5-6

Today we got to spend the day at the beach with my unlce Todd and his girls, John and his new fiance, and Kjersten, Chris and their cute little family. First we took Kyle to the Orange County airport in the morning and then we headed for the beach. It was a beautiful day. Chirs (who is a California boy) was so kind and took Joseph and Shawn (2 Wyoming boys) out to teach them to surf. This is a picture of Todd, who is scared of the ocean-and would not surf, Chris, Joseph, and a very excited Shawn. It is true, Todd is scared to go to far out into the Ocean because of sharks, it did not help that the day before on the news we heard that a man got attacked by a shark and died right there in the Southern California ocean. We never saw any sharks...but we saw lots of dolphins swimming by so close to the shore that we could watch them swim all over the water.
Here is Chris showing us all how a pro surfs the California Shores. He was able to catch alot of waves and made it look alot eaiser then it really is. Shawn was able to get up alot too, but I could never get a picture of him (I was ether not paying attention, too far away, or did not pull out my camera quick enough to get the shot) but the one picture that I got of him standing up and surfing like a pro, Kyle was standing in front of him and he totally blocks my Wyoming cowboy surfer. But I did get some good pictures of my husband holindg a surfbord looking like a surfer boy.

This is my favorite picture of the whole crew...minus Kyle who was flying home to Oregon at this time. We loved our warm sunny beach day!

And here is our tired group (after a day at the beach) Kjerten and Chris treated us all to the Golden Spoon for frozen yougurt to help celebrate Kennidy's 8th birthday! Kjerstin and Christ own a few of these little yogurt shops and they are great. I will now take a moment to give a shout out to the Golden Spoon (for all of those who live in Southern Cali) it is a great place to go for a yummy little treat and it is fat free.

After the beach and some In & Out and frozen yogurt we all relaxed in the hot tub and went to bed.

The next morning Shawn, Joseph, and I drove home...back to Utah!

What a wonderful trip, lots of fun memories. Thank you Cherly for housing me and 3 crazy boys for two nights, and Bonnie for the Sea world tickets and chicken sandwiches and thank you Johnson family for having us ALL at your house for a few days and making our trip so fun!!

Finals!!!

My husband has two more days of classes, then 2 reading days, and then...FINALS!!! So, this is what my husband has been doing with any free time he has, and I know that it is just going to get worse and worse....its going to be all about the studying. We have to have good grades for dental school. With my husband studying whenever he is at home, I am left with nothing to do...especially since I left my book in Evanston, so I cant read, my house is clean and the laundry is all done, and I am not allowed to be in the room with him while he studies so I cant scrapbook either (he says I am to loud). So, last night I ended up falling asleep at 8:30 while watching the Antiques Roadshow. My life is so boring and sad right now with my husband shut up in the back bedroom studying.
But I can say that I am very thankful to be graduated and done with school!!!

Evanston Weekend

Shawn and I dicided to head up to Evanston for a weekend away with the Platts. We enjoyed another relaxing weekend with Shawn's family. We got to hang with Necha, Josh, and their two cute little girls, and with Shawn's dad, Eugene, and his fiance Doreen, and we got to hang for a bit with Joseph too. Joseph was having his senior prom on Saturday night, and we got to go meet him at the high school for the junior class promanade before the dance. It was so fun seeing all of the girls in their big puffy and bright dresses. Joseph looked handsome in his tuxedo, and we were able to get all the details of the night the next morning as Jospeh made us blueberry pancackes. Another great weekend in Wyoming!
And Necha and I set up a blogger account for Eugene, so he can be connected with all of us too. I hope he uses it :)!!!!

Weekend with the Harps

The Harps are an amzing family that we knew from our mission, they lived in Ukiah, California, my greenie area for 7 1/2 months. About a year ago the Harps moved to Utah and Shawn and I would go up and visit and have Sunday dinners with them and some other missionary friends. Well were heard they were moving out to Colorado, so we all planned a meeting place to eat in Provo as the family drove through to get to Colorado. Well, after lots of set backs the family didnt arrive until after 10:30. We ate and enjoyed eachother and fun mission memories (we had 3 other mission buddies with us). The family was so tired, so Shawn and I offered to have them spend the night with us. They agreed and I was excited to be a little hostess for this great family who has done so much for us, and espeically for my husband on his mission (they would feed him atleast once a week). So, we had Brother and Sister Harp, their two sons, their triplet daughters, and a cat and a dog all spend the night at our house...oh Yea and our 3 missionary friends stayed too. So, we had 12 people and a cat and dog all in our little house. It was a bit crowded, but ALOT of FUN!!!

Conference time

Shawn and I inside the Tabernacle, waiting to go inside the Conference Center. We couldnt believe how small the Tablernacle is and how confernce would be held in there each year. We are so blessed to have the huge and beautiful Conference Center now!

Its conference time again, and Shawn and I got the chance to go to the Sunday afternoon session with a couple of our friends (thanks dad for the tickets). We were fortunate enough to arrive alittle early...usually we are late and hurray and park and try to get to our seats before someone else takes them. But this time we arrived early and got to walk around the very busy Temple Square, we went into the Tabernacle and then enjoy the beautiful flowers and the sun outside. We got into the Conference Center and got amazing seat. We were only about 15 rows from the front, it was great to actually see the speakers instead of watching them from the big screens. All of the sessions were amazing, especially the first Saturday morning session were we got to sustain our new Prophet and leaders, but the session we got to go to was my favorite. It is always so great to be in the huge Conference Center with thousands of other members and to feel of the faith and spirit of all the members and the leaders of the church, especially with our new Prophet, President Thomas S Monson. This was a great Conference weekend!
