Olympics 2008

I just have to mention how much I love the Olympics! I have always looked forward to the Olympics every few years. I love the winter Olympics (especially since they were in Utah and since I got to go to a couple of events) but I really really love the summer Olympics. Shawn and I stayed up half the night watching the amazing Opening Ceremony and now we both look forward to wasting away most of our evenings rooting on the Americans in swimming, basketball, gymnastics, and beach volleyball (some of our favorites). I get my Olympic updates on my computers at work and then watch the "while you were sleeping" updates while I am working out at the gym, then I will call my mom and we discuss the different events and cool stories we get to hear about each night. Like this morning my mom and I were discussing how the American Women's gymnastics team fell apart in their last two events...I was sad. I was rooting hard for the Americans to overcome the Chinese.

These dang Chinese are good at gymnastics and diving and it is causing me to hold a little bit of prejudice against them, because I hate them beating the Americans ...I know thats not very Christ like or good of me (and it is the opposite of the whole point of the Olympics; which is to unite the whole world together) but I am sure I will get over it when the Olympics are over. Until then I am loving the fact that I am wasting so much time watching and keeping up with the Olympics. GO USA!!!

Blake and Savannah Nelson

Blake and Savannah were married in the Rexburg, Idaho Temple on August 1. It was a beautiful sealing and wedding. We all met at the temple at noon and my Grandpa Nelson did the sealing and he did a great job. Savannah looked beautiful in her dress and Blake looked smitten with her, he is so happy. After the Sealing we looks some pictures and then headed to Plano, Idaho for the Family Lunch-which was yummy. Then later that night we went to the reception at Savannahs house, which was beautiful as well. The night was perfect, the couple looked happy and anxious to leave...now Blake and Savannah are in Costa Rica for the next week. It was so great to Blake so happy and in love, he has always been such a great brother and friend to me and I am excited for the both of them and for Savannah to join our family. So, my husbands father also got married on August 1, but in the Mt Timpanogas Temple. We had to spilt up for the weekend (the first time we were apart since we have been married...very sad). Shawn went to his dads wedding and then up to Evasnton for the family dinner and reception and went up to Rexburg for Blakes. I was sad to miss my father-in-laws wedding, I would have loved to be there, especially since all the family was together. But I was also sad to not have Shawn with me while we celebrated Blake's wedding. Either way both weddings turned out great and I am hoping to get some pictures from one of my sister in laws of the Platt wedding.

Now, we just have the Oregon reception at the end of the month!

Hi-Tech Woman!

Check me out, I am becoming quite the Hi-Tech Woman. I just got a new Blackberry Curve from work this week, and I love it! Not really sure how everything works, but don't you worry I have been reading up on my little booklet that it came with. I want to make sure and maximize all of the cool little features that I can.
