Newport Beach

 My parents tried to get away from us for a few days and went to the beach for the weekend...well that did not last long because we soon joined them on Saturday and spent the day with them.  Shawn had the day off (he goes to school most Saturdays) and the weather was perfect with no wind (does not happen that often on the Oregon Coast).  We had an amazing day playing in the water (which is freezing and we cant keep Callie out of it) and playing in the sand. The best part was that we could go up to my parents hotel room and give Callie a bath and get her and Lucy in pjs for the ride home.  I told Shawn that this was one of the best weekends we have had in a long time since we got to spend it all together!

SISTERS!!!

 I never had a sister and I always wanted one (although I do love being the only girl with 4 brothers) but I am so HAPPY that these two sisters have eachother and I hope they will be good friends there whole life!

Tulip Festival with Grandma and Grandpa Platt

 Shawn's parents were in town visiting for a few days and we loved visiting with them and Callie loved spending time with "Pat"

We decided to head to the Wooden Shoe Tulip Festival here in Woodburn and we loved it.  Callie loved looking at all of the tulips and playing with Grandma and Grandpa Platt-it was a beautiful day!

Easter

 Easter Sunday happened to fall on the day after we got home from our Spring break trip to Utah/Wyoming.  The Easter bunny was a little wore out from the trip-which is okay because Callie is only 1 and Lucy is only 5 months.  The girls (who were both sick from the trip and I am sure the airports) woke up to a few Easter eggs, candy, and a Cabbage Patch doll.  Since they were not feeling well the girls and I stayed home from church (which meant they did not get to wear there cute Easter outfits-maybe next week).  

We did do an Easter egg hunt and dinner the day before with my Aunt Dayna, and cousin Christy and her cute family and then on Easter Day after dinner we had an adult sibling hunt (just like we did when we were kids-so fun).  We love Spring time and Easter and the opportunity to Celebrate our Savior.

Spring Break in Utah and Wyoming

 We had a great week in Utah and Wyoming for Shawn's spring break.  

-We met up with Family and shared an evening with Vickie for her 60th birthday

-We visited our Alma Mater and took the girls on a walk around BYU campus and visited Uncle Brocky at the BYU library

-We got to eat at some yummy Provo restaurants that I miss so much (Cafe Rio, Zupas, Provo Bakery, Tucanos, FireHouse Subs)

-We made indoor s'mores 

-We played with Uncle Brock and Aunt Emily and loved all our time spent with them in their little "stable house" 

-We had a cousin dinner at the Woodleys and loved visiting everyone and seeing their cute kids

-I fell asleep nursing Lucy in the mothers lounge at Brock and Emily's church and no one could find us for at least 30 min :)

 

 -We headed up to Wyoming to spend a few days with our Platt family
-We had a cousin Easter egg hunt
-Callie got to take her first sled ride and got to do it with cousin Maggie
-We swam at the Evanston Rec Center and Lucy got to join in on the fun too
-We loved playing with Grandpa "Pat" and Grandma Doreen
-Lucy got to meet lots of cousins and Aunts and Uncles she had never met before 
-Callie enjoyed playing with cousin Tessa and Maggie
-We enjoyed a Dinosaur dinner at Grandpa Platt's house 

 -We made our way back to Utah and spent an evening with some great missionary friends
-Callie got to pick out her own pink sprinkle donut (and is still talking about it)
-Lucy got to sit up and ride in the Costco shopping cart all by herself
-Shawn and Callie took many walks outside while Lucy took her naps inside
-Shawn visited his old research lab and mentor and let Callie touch a mouse (I was not there or would not have let it happen-I HATE mice)
-We checked out the new Provo Beach Resort and Callie is still talking about and watching the video of her on the carousel
-We drove by our old house and reminisced about our newlywed/childless days

We loved our trip away visiting family and friends but were happy to get home too.  Shawn discovered that traveling with 2 babies is not super relaxing and was anxious to get home to rest!
