Monday Funday

If you have read my blog for a while you know that I am a special needs teacher. One of my students will turn 22 next week. This means he will age out and not be with me anymore :( This kid is so awesome and always brings a smile to my face. Today I took all of the kids by the water to eat a picnic lunch outside and took some pictures of Cody so that I could put together a little album for him to remember our class by. How can this not cheer you up?! :)

He did such a good job modeling :)

oh...and we had to chase birds too! :)

The Monday workday is over...and grocery shopping is over. yay!

Productive...and pooped

A quick recap of the weekend-sorry no pictures.

Friday- did some cleaning and started tearing apart the house. :) I started taking everything out of what will be the nursery that is just junk and put it on craigslist. Whatever doesn't sell this week is gone.

Saturday- Went to the beach with my parents while Drake was at work and then had a photo shoot in the evening.

Today- Photo shoot this morning, took Cosmo to the dog park, and then went to Lowes and bought a pergola that we have been putting up in the back yard all afternoon. So pooped! It will be awesome when it is done, but I did not get to the grocery store like I planned because it took so long. :(

I am in a pouty mood because I am so not ready to go back to work tomorrow! Two more weeks and I am off for spring break though, so I can't complain. Hope you guys had a good weekend, sorry for the boring post. :)

Tagged, Appointment, and Bathingsuit

I was tagged by Amanda at Our Fertility Journey and I can never dip out when I have been tagged :)Sadly, I do not know how to enter her name so you can click over to her page...how do I do that?! I am so out of the loop :)Ok...here goes

1. If you have pets, do you see them as merely animals or are they members of your family? You should know this, but Cosmo is a member of our family! Drake and I adopted her right when we got married. She lived in our first apartment with us, now our first house, and will be around for our first baby. And yes we celebrate her birthday each year and get her presents for Christmas. haha

2. If you could have a dream come true, what would it be? Make enough money so that my whole family could quit working and we could just hang out everyday together without a care in the world.

3. What would you do with a billion dollars? Spend it on my family and travel.

4. What helps to pull you out of a bad mood? Drake ♥

5. What is your bedtime routine? Shower and get all fresh and clean and then sit in bed with Drake and watch crappy TV together.

6. If you are currently in a relationship, how did you meet your significant other? We met at UCF :) Drake was playing baseball and I was playing soccer and our teams worked out at the same time.

7. What kind of books do you read? I recently read Jenny McCarthy's Belly Laughs and loved it.

8. How do you see yourself in 10 years? Still happily married and going to watch my kids play sports :)

9. What’s your fear? Someone I love dying unexpectedly

12. If you could change one thing about your significant other, what would it be? He will not blow his nose! haha Drives me crazy...he will sniff and sniff all day instead of just blowing his nose and fixing the problem. But even though it annoys me, because it's Drake it's still cute

13. If you could pick a new name for yourself, what would it be? I like my name...if I was a boy my parents were going to name me Zachary Levi

14. If you had to choose between six months of sun or six months of rain, what would you choose? Sun for sure!

15. If you could only eat one thing for the next 6 months, what would it be? Mac and cheese

16. What is the thing you enjoy about blogging the most? All of the wonderful people I have met and been able to talk to...also having a journal of my day to day life to look back on.

17. Do you prefer salty or sweet foods? I have a bad sweet tooth!

18. What items are in your purse right now? My wallet, phone, camera, and lip gloss.

19. If you had to choose between vacationing at the beach or in the mountains where would you go? I love living where I can go to the beach anytime I want! But I have yet to see snow and experience that so I would love to vacation somewhere up north.

20. What do you watch on television that you know you shouldn’t? Easy...Jersey Shore.

So on to my appointment this morning...everything went well. It was a quick appointment just making sure I had no concerns and that everything was still going ok. I have gained 2 pounds so far. I asked the nurse if I got to hear or see the heartbeat and she said they usually do it on my next appointment because at 11 weeks it is hard to hear still and they don't want to worry anyone if they can't find it, but she was willing to try if I wanted her to. Heck yes...go for it! So she searched and it took a while but we barely heard it! :) She had to hold the thing up to my ear and I could barely hear it, but it was awesome still. I go back in another 4 weeks and we will hear it really good then and then my next appointment after that will be another ultrasound to see what it is!! Crazy

Finally, I just wanted to share a picture of the bathingsuit I am getting for my birthday.

Oh yea, hot mama :) It will be here in time for my Spring Break...watch out Spring Break 2011, it's gonna get crazy! haha Wow what a difference a couple years can make.

Week 11

Hey everyone! Today marks week 11. In a way it seems crazy to me that I am already in week 11 and in another way I think about how long I have left and this is only the start of the journey. I am enjoying it every step of the way. I still feel good overall. The only symptoms I have had are some headaches, upset stomach due to the extra slow digestive system these days, and I still have my days where I have no energy. I have not had any crazy cravings...I have drank tons of orange juice and eaten a good bit of fried egg sandwiches lately. I loved seafood before I was pregnant and now the thought of it grosses me out. I head back to the doctor in the morning just for a check up, not sure what all they will do but I don't think it will take long. I hope you all have a great Tuesday! I am off to do kick boxing at the gym :)

3 day weekend!

This weekend has been awesome. Any Monday off of work always guarantees a smile on my face :) Plus Kylie came in for the weekend ♥ Saturday my family met up at the bowling alley and bowled for a while and played in the arcade.

After we finished there and Drake got off work we came back to our house and played Just Dance. This picture cracks me up...Kyle and Kylie hit hands while doing some intense dance moves and the remotes went flying haha

After they left Drake and I headed downtown for a photo shoot and then it was time to meet up with friends for Joe's birthday dinner. We ate at McGuires.




Yesterday was beautiful. The windows in the car were down, the smell of sunscreen in the air, a packed cooler, and old school Red Hot Chili Peppers jamming on the radio. Yep...it was the first beach day of the year for us. The weather was perfect! Sunny and a nice breeze so that it was comfortable to just relax and get some sun.







Today Drake was back to work, so I went and said bye to Kylie, went to get blood drawn-yay, and took Cosmo with me in town to meet Drake for lunch at Bagelheads. A 4 day work week ahead :) I hope you all had a great weekend! xoxo

doesn't get much better

So last night my team gave me a $50 gift card to Carrabbas to eat. Today once Drake and I got home from work and took Cosmo on a walk, we placed a to-go order :) Now usually I would be smart and use the gift card on two smaller meals, but we spent the whole thing! Appetizer, Meal, and Dessert :) Now we are home in our sweats, eating awesome food and watching Idol. Sounds like a perfect weeknight to me! ♥

Week 10

Happy Tuesday! Today marks week 10 in baby Wade's life ♥ Next Tuesday I go in for another check-up. Everything is still going smooth. No sickness! :) Just breaking out like a kid in middle school. I am ready for it to warm up a little bit more so I can lay out and get some sun :) Feeling pale, chubby, and breaking out do not make a girl feel her best. ha I am excited to have the summer off to really get the nursery ready and take my time getting everything organized and ready to go. Yes, I am already talking about the summer in February. :) Well, I guess that's about it. Until next week...

Baby Wade is now the size of a prune!
With bones and cartilage starting to form and vital organs beginning to function, baby is making major progress. Body length will almost double in the next three weeks, and arm joints are now working. (Soon, legs will start working too.)


On another note...I just got back from our soccer banquet and wanted to share a picture of my girls ♥ I love them!

destin and dinner

The weekends always go by way too fast! We have had a good one though! :) The weather is awesome and is making me itch for spring...and then summer break! ahhh Yesterday we went to Destin for the afternoon ♥ Always a good day.

We stopped by Destin Commons and went to some shops and looked around :)



Then it was time for our murder mystery dinner theater. It was really fun! It was a 4 course meal and in between each course they would come in and out acting out scenes. Drake and I were taking notes to try and solve the murder :) It was fun and something new and different to do. After that we headed home and crashed.

This morning we have been cleaning a little and went for a walk. Drake went outside to trim the palm tree and said he would be back in about 10 minutes. Well about 20 went by and I go outside to this...

He was hanging out with our neighbor's kids :) He is so cute. Well...I am off to do something outside, it's too pretty to be inside. Have a great day! xoxo

all over the place

Just stopping by to say hey! :) I am so excited...this weekend I did not book any photo shoots because Drake has both days off which will not be the case once spring and summer hit, and I just booked us for a dinner theater murder mystery show on Saturday night! I have always wanted to do something like that but never found any, until I ran across one today. ♥ I can't wait!

Here is a recipe I made tonight that Drake and I both liked. It was simple for any others out there like me who would rather get a bikini wax than be in the kitchen :)

Chicken Treasure

Ingredients
4 whole Chicken Breast
3 heads Cut Cooked Broccoli
⅓ cups Margarine Or Butter
½ cups Flour
1 Tablespoon Salt
1 cup Milk
2 cups Chicken Broth
1 teaspoon Lemon Juice
1 cup Mayonnaise
5 whole Slices Of Bread
2 cups Shredded Cheddar Cheese

Preparation Instructions
-In a pot of salted water, simmer the chicken till tender. (You can save the water/broth if you just want to use that instead of buying chicken broth.)

-Spray a casserole dish with cooking spray Tear the chicken into bite-size chunks and lay them flat on the bottom of the dish. Next add the broccoli over the chicken.

-In a saucepan, melt the margarine, then add flour and salt to it, stirring till it mixes together. Next add milk and broth, cooking and stirring till it’s creamy and thick.

-In a bowl, beat the lemon juice and mayonnaise together, mixing it into the sauce and taking the saucepan off the heat. Pour the sauce over the meat and vegetables. After that, cut the bread into cubes and sprinkle the bread over the dish, putting shredded cheese on top of that. Stick the dish in the oven for about 25 minutes on 350F or until the cheese is golden brown. Then eat!

And on a totally different subject, today I got my gummy vitamins in the mail! :) I cannot swallow pills (yea yea I know) and so far have had liquid prenatal which was so gross and chewable prenatals that were bitter and chalky. So I was so excited to get these and they are awesome!

Week 9

Yay! Week 9. So far I am still feeling good-thank you God! I am tired and just want to nap at work so bad! :) Maybe I can bring back naptime to the high schools? My boobs are sore and let's just say I am needing more fiber in my diet these days. haha Overall, I am very lucky so far! I still don't feel like this is real though. I did have a dream last night that had the baby in it :) It was beautiful...and so content. We were all hanging out at my parent's house and life was good. Then I went to go breast feed and instead of milk coming out it was tomato sauce?! :) Then I woke up. Well...on to the updates for week 9. Have a great day!

Baby Wade, now the size of a green olive, has grown about an inch since last week. Tiny muscles are beginning to form, so while he might not be ready to pump iron, he's gearing up to move his arms and legs. It's still too soon to feel anything in your belly, but you might be able to hear something at your next checkup. Try listening for your baby's heartbeat via a Doppler device — that welcome sound should be audible anytime now.

Saturday

Yesterday was a good day :) We spent the morning hanging out and went to Target and bought Just Dance 2. :) Neither of us have played it before so we spent some time goofing off in the living room together making fun of each other's moves. :) After that we headed downtown and I did an engagement shoot.

After that we headed to Heather and Ron's house to watch the UFC fight with 4 other couples. Drake and I don't really watch UFC, but it was fun to get together with everyone and hang out.



We got home late...and still managed to get up early this morning. :) We are headed to go on a walk with coz ♥ Happy Sunday!!

So excited!!

It's the weekend! Got a package in the mail from Drake's mom for baby wade:) It's rainy and cold out tonight so we will be hanging out at the house and settling in after a busy week. Plans with friends ahead for the weekend and planning on seeing Blue Valentine-thanks dad :) Then superbowl time. It's going to be a good one! xoxo

Week 8

Here is my week 8 update. :) Thanks to those of you who have voted in the gender poll I put up...girl is in the lead. I go back and forth on what I feel we are having. Of course I am happy either way, but I am anxious to know at week 20 so I can start looking at things to buy. I still have times of worry come up, I am only 8 weeks and have 4 more weeks until the scary first trimester is over. Overall, I feel good though :) So thankful I have not been nauseous or anything of that nature. I do feel tired these past few days and have some lovely bloating and stomach aches, but nothing too bad. Today was productive for us :) I snagged my weekly picture before we went to the gym because I forgot to this morning, then we went to the grocery store after. I am already ready for the weekend! Anyways...here are my updates according to the lovely internet...Enjoy ♥

Pregnancy Week 8:
Playing host to an ever-growing embryo does take a toll. Heavy fatigue may be setting in, along with abdominal cramping and tender breasts. Treat yourself gently, and it doesn't hurt to remind your partner to do the same. Though it's not showing yet, you're growing a little person in there!

Baby Wade is now the size of a raspberry!
Baby is growing like mad, putting on about a millimeter every day and continuing to straighten out in the trunk. Though I can't feel it yet, baby is moving those little arms, legs, and (now only slightly) webbed fingers and toes like crazy.
