it's a wrap

I've been a slacker...since I wrote last we have been to the zoo, I did a wedding shoot, Easton started gymnastics last week {loved it} and he had his last day of school Friday. 

We celebrated a great year with breakfast together that morning :) I just can't get over how awesome this year was. He just continued to master his goals and we had to keep making new ones. He started the year with a handful of words and now he is blowing us away with his speech...and making my love grow that much more with the things he will say. He tells me he missed me when I go to pick him up after work now and the other day was rubbing my hair {my ugly messy bun from the day} and said, "Mommy, your hair is so pretty" I love him so much! I thank God for his growth this year and am so excited to continue and watch him learn through the years. 

Our weekend to kick off summer was spent at birthday parties and the pool. 

 We went downtown for a bike ride this morning and cooled off in the splash pad. It was a good weekend. I have 2 days of work for post-planning and will be packing up my room, still unsure of what I will choose to  teach in August-but I know it will all work out. I am just focusing on what's right in front of me-an awesome couple months off of work with my baby ♥

It really is crazy that it is about to be summer break! I went today and got everything to make Easton's teachers their "Orange you glad it's Summer" boxes. I love them :) 

 I am enjoying every minute of my kids these last few days. The program that I have been working with for 5 years for students with special needs is being relocated. I am so bummed! The county wants me to go with the program, but I love the school I am at and don't want to leave my TV Production kids either. So, long story short...my principal met with me and wants me to stay at my school as well, so it's a good problem to have, but I have some big decisions to make. I can go with the program or he gave me a handful of options for what I can teach next year and I just keep praying about it-it's a big life decision and I want to make the right one. 

Today was Drake's birthday! {32} He wanted to hang at the pool for the evening when we got home from work, so we had fun hanging out! 

Looking forward to the 3 day weekend with my guys! 

Happy Hump Day! I only have 3 full days with students, 3 half days and 2 post planning days left until Summer break! I am pumped to spend extra time with Easton! He has definitely found his voice and now that he is doing awesome talking...he's talking himself into trouble more too. A lot more testing his limits these days and trying to back talk. 

So this past weekend was our rescheduled Destin trip for our anniversary! ♥ I was SO excited and the weather ended up being good to us. We drove over Saturday and went shopping for a while and then went to the hotel and sat by the pool before going to dinner. 

 It was a great day and then we had plans to get up Sunday and go to brunch and rent scooters for the afternoon. I woke up Sunday with the worst cramps and was just laying in a ball crying. Partially from the pain and partially because I was so dang mad that the timing was so awful. We ended up heading home early and I was back in bed when we got home. Such a bummer. It was still a nice full day/night with Drake.♥ 

Easton probably wished we weren't back early because he was having a blast with Pop and Nanny. They went to a festival and Easton got his face painted and won the grand prize drawing for a little bike! :)

 He also went swimming...we are loving the pool this year! He is doing great swimming. 

Monday night Easton had his last pre t-ball game. He had a good first season...now we start gymnastics next week! :)

weekend and work

Hey! Since I wrote last, Drake's mom flew in Thursday to stay for the weekend. We were lucky with our weather again so we enjoyed a lot of outside time. {fingers crossed that it will stay for this weekend when we are supposed to go to Destin for our already re-scheduled anniversary weekend} Friday I went to work, but Drake had Friday off so the 3 of them spent the day at the pool. Babcia was so amazed at Easton's progress in speech and how much more outgoing he was since she saw him last. That evening Easton had a t-ball game. It's still going good, but he will say he doesn't want to go and when I ask why, he will say that his pants and socks are too hot. haha 3 year old probs. 

Saturday we were back outside enjoying the pool and then went to eat at the clubhouse again. This weekend had a lot of deja vu from last weekend :) We went home for a bit and then were back outside in the backyard just catching up and watching Easton on his water slide. Best $60 we have spent in a while! 

And we wrapped up our weekend at Blues on the Bay again. I had a nice Mother's Day...woke up to a new picture of Drake and Easton in a frame Easton picked to go on my desk, a card from Easton and Milton Bakery for breakfast. Bands on the Bay was perfect. We met up with everyone and listened to some good music while the kids ran and we enjoyed the breeze coming off of the water.

 And finally...today was an exciting day for us! Drake started a new job! So long story short...a couple months ago is when Drake unexpectedly lost his job that he had been at a couple years. It was scary, but Drake quickly got another job. He has been there for those couple months, and it was a nice place to work and the Friday-Sunday off schedule was amazing, but it was a huge pay cut for us. We immediately cut out our "wants" and have been just taking care of our needs financially and it was still stressful. So we were thankful for work, but Drake continued to spend time in the evenings getting his resume out and looking for something that he could hopefully turn into his career. 

We are very excited for his new position! He is 1 of 3 sales reps for Florida Pest Control. There is a lot of potential for him. I am so proud of him for pushing on and staying positive through a tough couple months of not knowing what could happen. 

sunny days

The past few days have been so awesome! We had amazing sunny days with little humidity {rare for us} and I didn't do anything productive all weekend :) Just had fun with family every day! Friday after work we headed downtown to the splash pad and ran around until it was time for dinner. 

We ate dinner at The Yard...it was our first time and really fun. The food was fine, but the atmosphere was totally worth the stop...and by atmosphere I mean a fenced in grassy yard with other kids roaming around while you sit in a lawn chair and listen to music. So cute. ♥ 

Saturday we went to the pool for a while and then grabbed lunch at the clubhouse.

 Finally, yesterday we went to the beach during the day and then wrapped up the weekend with blues on the bay. I am so excited that they brought these concerts back at maritime park. We met up with Pop, Nanny and Mom moms for the evening. 

Thankful for this awesome weather and going to soak it up as much as possible. Headed to our t-ball game in a few...have a good week!
