Coming to a close

The dreaded "it's the end of the summer, how did it go so fast?!" post. But, I am always reminded this time of year how truly thankful I am for my life/career/babies. Just thankful. I am so lucky that I get to spend the whole summer with E&E everyday. Yes, some days I am so worn down by the time it is over-they are starting to really push each others buttons lately...but I wouldn't trade my days with anyone in the world. 

I am so thankful that I am going back to a teaching position that I am really loving. Teaching online has been such a great fit for me. We packed a ton of fun into the summer: pools, the beach, lake, golf, play dates, Explorium, Zoo, home depot, bowling, trampoline, and parks. 

The last couple weeks we went swimming, 

{ahhh slow moving mornings...I will miss those}

 went downtown, 

hung out with Reece and Gracey...a play date that turned into an all day adventure and eating dinner because they were all having so much fun together :) 

more beach, 

Easton wrapped up his golf season with the pitch, putt, and drive and Divot Derby tournament. 

He placed 7th out of 26 kids at the pitch putt and drive, and that was competing with kids up to 9 years old :) 

Then, in the 2 day tournament, he placed 5th out of 12 kids with scores of 48-42. He was bummed the first day, but has learned so much and improved so much in just a few short months of playing.

Last week, Emerson went to MDO so that Easton and I could go to the mess hall together. It is for the bigger kids, so we had fun doing some science experiments together. Wahhh the bigger kids?! I can't believe Easton will be in 1st grade. 

 Then, we had Easton's golf banquet. He finished 2nd overall for the summer tour and received his trophy for that, but he also received the "respect" award. That was pretty cool! They talked about the little boys that showed such respect for the 1 little girl who had to play with them all summer since there were no other 6-7 year old girls to play with. 

 Finally, here is a picture that I feel like accurately represents how we are feeling at the end of summer break. :) 

Sunny days

This Summer has been so fun! We have been very lucky with some awesome sunny and hotttt days, so we spend a lot of our outside time in some sort of water. 

Drake got to play some softball, it was fun watching daddy hit some home runs! :) 

Easton is still enjoying his golf! I will be bummed when his tournaments are over. We finish up the season next week with the Divot Derby-a 2-day tournament. He has shot a 43, 35, 41, 40 this year so far. 

Roger Scott pool...Emerson was wanting to do the big slide with bro bro so bad. She kept pointing and saying "Emmy's turn" 

She has definitely hit the 2s...she will get so mad and her new thing is to scream when she is really not happy with something. Oh boy. 

Home Depot workshop...

We have had some potty time, but with being gone everyday, I have not been able to consistently keep her naked at home that much, but she has had some success already :) 

shopping for bro bro's new cleats, of course Emerson had to try some on to.

We also enjoyed a day at Krull Lake. 

 came home for nap and went out for more swimming with friends...

 

 and of course ice cream to end the day. 

 Over the weekend, we went to the zoo. It was hot, but the kids had a lot of fun and we cooled off at the splash pad after we left. 

Kicking this week off at the beach again...

 Tuesday mornings=golf 

 oh yea...and every now and then we mix in the stuff we need to do with all of the fun things we want to do :)

July

Already July?! So crazy, as always, how fast time goes. We are continuing to enjoy our summer. :) Emerson had her last day of therapy! She could need more in the future again, but we finished her initial 8 weeks. 

I signed the kids up for a couple "Mothers Day out" days on a couple Wednesdays for the summer. Just a mid-week break for a couple hours. I was hopeful it would go okay, and they ended up loving it. :) Easton was so excited because during music time all of the classes go together and he thought it was so cool that he got to see Emerson. I enjoyed a mani/pedi, errands, shopping, and a car wash in my 3 hours. Successful MDO!

We have continued to have several pool and beach trips ♥ 

I enjoyed a movie date with Easton :) We had so much fun and he loved the movie. 

We had golf tournament #2 of the summer. So much fun and Emerson came this time and did a good job staying still and quiet in the cart. Easton got 2nd place again and shot a 35. 

Since we were already on base, we ate lunch and then went to watch the Blue Angels fly. It was Emerson's first show. She loved it! :)

Putt Putt!

Lots of shaved ice, popsicles, and ice cream in our lives right now :) 

 This weekend we went to the Explorium for the day. It was nice to do something different with the kids and they had a lot of fun with the hands on exhibits.
