Spring is officially over for Drake's work! Back to spending time together and they will close an hour earlier each day starting tomorrow! I am just giddy with excitement...so is Easton :)

It has been a great long weekend so far! Today we spent the day at the lake with my parents and grandma. Last time we were at the lake I was pregnant. We were in and out of the water all afternoon and went walking on the trail. Easton had a lot of fun, he passed out on the way home:)

I am off to watch a movie and unwind with my guy. ♥

Some awesome stuff...

Awesome thing #1-Days at the pool with the fam bam. :)This summer is going to be amazing...I only have 12 more days with students and then I am on summer break!!

Awesome thing #3- Easton gives kisses now! Best thing ever. You make the kiss sound with your mouth and he will come at you with his mouth wide open. :)

Awesome thing #4- They posted some pictures and the rankings today from our mud run and we placed 11th and 12th out of the 684 females!

Awesome thing #5- Cosmo Wade is 7 today. Awww sweet girl.

Awesome thing #6- The Monday workday is over my friends!! Time to enjoy the evening.

A Saturday of firsts...

Yesterday was a long, exhausting, awesome day! :) Carissa came to my house bright and early to pick me up to go to the emerald coast mud run. Neither of us had done a mud run before so we didn't know what to expect but we signed up last month and knew we would have fun. It was a 5k and throughout there were obstacles you had to cross. If you or your partner could not complete an obstacle then you had to add a minute to your time for each one. (ps we did them all with flying colors :)) The obstacles were: The mud crawl, the water haul, hurdles, haystack hill, water slide, uphill mud tunnels, rice tote, tire jump, monkey swing, mud mountains, and the mud pit to finish. Here we are before we left, Easton wore our team socks to show his support. ♥

And here we are after the race :) We had so much fun! We got washed off and grabbed a smoothie for the road and headed back home. We are still waiting to see the results and other pictures from the run online so I hope they are posted soon.

Once I got home I hung out with Easton until Drake got home from work and then I had a birthday surprise for him. (His birthday is Tuesday) We headed out and he had no idea what we were doing...this in itself is a success for me, I am TERRIBLE at keeping things a surprise. :) I set up for our friend Ben to take us up in his hot air balloon! We met up and got everything set up first...

This was our view. Just a peaceful evening riding around during the sunset. It was beautiful! It was so funny when we starting coming low to the ground to land we were passing over neighborhoods and kids were running outside to see us fly over and waving at us.

Once we were done flying, we went downtown and ate at The Tin Cow and walked around for a little bit before we came home and crashed.

So, I watched the sun come up and go down yesterday...but I got to experience two "firsts" in my life and enjoy a great evening celebrating Drake's birthday. I hope he had an awesome time because he deserves it! Happy 29th birthday Drake!! ♥

Monday Thoughts...

*I think sometimes I forget that Drake's family doesn't really get to hear Easton or see his personality. They see plenty of pictures but I need to start posting more quick clips of him. :) Here he is on the ride to Dean's party the other day. Love this boy!

*I forgot to mention when me and Easton were shopping the other day he was just grinning ear to ear while riding around in the shopping cart, and this little old lady came over to talk to him for a bit before going back to shopping. Well we go up to check out a while later and she was in front of us. "Well look at this, fate just brought us back together." She said to us and went back to talking to Easton. Once she was done paying and it was time to leave it was so cute, she turned to Easton and said in her little sweet voice, " Well I hope to see you again soon, but if I don't I will see you in heaven." ♥ How sweet.

*Oh yea, Easton finally slept through the night again last night after about 3 weeks of waking up. Yay! I think his gums are feeling a little better and we are hopefully back to our sleeping nights! (Fingers crossed)

*Well, I am off...Easton will be waking up for dinner any minute and daddy will be getting home. Life is good!

Mother's Day weekend!

Last night we went to little Dean's first birthday party. I was excited that it was in the evening so Drake was able to join in! :) I guess time never seems slow, but wow once you are surrounded by kids it just speeds up that much more. Last year at this time we were at the hospital meeting Dotts and I was pregnant with Easton. Drake and Ronnie went and got Moes and Marble Slab for us to eat and I was sneaking Jenn's heartburn medicine. :) How in the world was that a full year ago?! Today is my first Mother's Day :) I am so thankful that I have been given this gift...

Him and his daddy brought me some yummy breakfast this morning after letting me sleep in a little and Easton got me a gift card to get a full day of pampering. :) Facial, full body massage, body wrap, access to pool and fitness center. My boys spoil me ♥

After hanging out here we went to my parent's house and my brother and Rose came by as well and we played some board games and hung out for a while. Then it was back home and we have just been enjoying family time around the house in our bum clothes. Perfect 1st Mother's Day to me!

This day definitely gives me a bittersweet taste in my mouth. I am so thankful for my mom and the way that she loves us and does absolutely anything for us. She is the best momma in the world! I am blessed to have Easton as my son and to finally be a mom myself. I will never take my precious gift for granted and I hope he always knows how much I love him. And finally I feel sad for the women out there still longing to be a mom, some struggling secretly. Before we got pregnant, this was one of the days that infertility made me feel just angry. It hurt. I hope that anyone who is hurting due to infertility today can feel a sense of peace and know that they will be a mom. ♥

Catching Up

Happy Weekend! The past few days have been awesome. Thursday when Drake got home from work we decided to go to the mall for the evening. I love that Drake loves shopping together. :) He already said for his birthday that he wants to drive back over to Destin one day and hit up the polo store. No problemo! Speaking of his birthday, I went ahead and gave him his gift. So, I told you guys that he has started training for a physique body building show in August, well he loves Joey Gloor who was one of the trainer's on the I used to be fat show that was on MTV. So I got him a month of personal training with him! Well, he is based out of Cali so how it works is Drake will get a specific diet and workout plan, send him a weekly picture and he will send back suggestions, daily text messaging, and a weekly 30 minute phone convo. :) Here is his trainer...

Yesterday after a good day at work Drake and I went on date. We headed out to eat at Atlas. It was yummy. Date nights are always wonderful! I love Drake so much and appreciate every minute we get together. The weather was nice so we were able to sit on the deck and enjoy a view of the water while we ate.

After dinner we stopped by Sweet Frog for some frozen yogurt and sat in the car and talked while eating :)

And of course today is Saturday! Easton and I have made a trip to Target and have been playing all morning. Daddy will be home soon and then we are off to Dean's birthday party. I swear I need an extra calendar already to keep up with Easton's social events. :) Oh, and check out what the mailman brought today! Love them :)

8 months!

Easton,
You are 8 months old today! You are looking more and more like a little boy and not a baby anymore. It's crazy. You had your first ear infection a couple weeks ago :( You were up during the night that week and then once it left you started teething pretty bad and just can't seem to get back to your good sleep at night. ouch. Mommy and daddy are robot zombies lately. I'm hoping it is just due to your body going through changes and you will get back to sleeping through the night again soon.

You have been swimming this month and seem to really love the water! That is good, because we will be in the pool and beach water all the time! I have so many wonderful memories from my childhood playing in the white sand and in the ocean, I am excited to make memories there with you now that I hope you will cherish one day.

You are a big boy. All of our friends comment on how solid you feel when they hold you. 21.5 pounds, 29 inches and wearing size 3 diapers. You are crawling like CRAZY now...so fast and all over the place and you are pulling up on everything! You have also had your share of boo boos this month with being so active yet wobbly while standing up. :(

Also, you are mimicking everything which is the cutest thing ever. Daddy and Pop will whistle at you and you pucker your lips and make a squeal noise and you also try to roll your tongue like daddy. It is so neat just to watch you grow and learn more and more. I thank God everyday for blessing our lives with you. I love you so much little E.B. ♥

3 more weeks. That's it! :) 3 more weeks of Drake working his awful schedule and 3 more weeks that I have full work weeks. We are so close to the finish line. This weekend was great. Yesterday was me and Easton time while daddy was at work. We cruised around in the jogging stroller and it was HOT!

Since it was so hot we decided to cool off in the pool. We went to my friend Michele's house and hung out and Drake met up with us after work. This is Michele's daughter and friend hanging out with Easton. I taught and coached both of them when they were freshmen. :) Now they are leaving in August for college and were telling me all about it. Time flies!

Today was our full day off together. ♥ We enjoyed the morning as a family and then went to celebrate Rose's birthday.
