Xanders Birthday Toy

Xanders birthday is next week, and yesterday we got two early presents in the mail. One of them we got while Xander was sleeping, so I was able to hide it away for later. The other one (from his Grandma Lisa) I let him open the card, and out popped a little Spiderman toy. Xander was so excited. It supposedly was supposed to grow in water, so we gave him a bath and let him play with it. Here are the pics of him playing with it in the tub.

My Painted Room, Emily's BBQ and Other Exciting News

(NOTE: large post with lots of pictures)

My sister Emily is here visiting from DC so we decided to throw a family BBQ at my place for her. But before everyone came, I decided I wanted to have my room painted. I painted the ceiling a deep purple, and the walls red/purple. Here are the pictures.

Xander for some reason wouldn't quit pulling this face. I don't know why, but it is ADORABLE.

Mowing the Lawn

This weekend I mowed the lawn, and it was the first time I mowed it with Jared home the whole time. So he took this chance to snap some pictures of me and Xander while I mow (keep in mind who was taking this picture when you realize they are all of the same view)

Xander LOVES to "help" me push the mower. He will push along with me, then when I start to get to close the the fence/house, he pulls back so I know to stop. Such a big help.
Then of course Xander had to "cheese" for the camera. (Note the scrape up his nose. He fell on the pavement, and scraped right up along his nose. OUCH!)

For some reason Xander has learned how fun it is to throw things at people. Here is a series of shots Jared took of Xander throwing a blade of grass at him.

Cell Phone, meet the Garbage Disposal

That's right. My cell phone met its untimely demise yesterday when it "magically" ended up in the garbage disposal (you know, since having a kid I have noticed things "magically" happen all the time). Anyhow, it turned out like this:

If you look carefully you can see all the water in the digital display. So if everyone who checks this blog would PLEASE be kind enough to e-mail me your phone numbers (because I lost them ALL, yes ALL of them) I would appreciate it. You can e-mail me at heidi@dracosoft.com, or leave it in the comment. In the meantime, I have my phone number set to forward to Jared's phone. So you can still call us.

On a more positive note, Jared and I got our glasses this week. Here are pics of those:
