Doctor Stuff

Well, I haven't wanted to post this, but figure it is probably time. I have been having some medical issues lately, and have not been feeling well.

I went to see a midwife and was diagnosed with Polycystic Ovaries or PCOS, pretty severe. It basically means I have a bunch of cysts on my ovaries. This makes it almost impossible to ovulate, and has resulted in the reason we only have (1) child (so quit asking).

The midwife ran a bunch of other misc test and turns out my PCOS has caused my uterine lining to become quite thick. After running some biopsies, it turns out that I have Complex Hyperplasia, with no atypia, meaning I have abnormal cell growth in my uterus. Although this isn't terminal, it also isn't good.

The past few nights I have had extensive abdominal pain, which I associated with my PCOS. This morning I was woken up with the most intense abdominal pain that I had Jared take me to the ER. Turns out, I was passing a kidney stone. During all the misc test it was also discovered I have gall stones too.

So needless to say the past couple of weeks have been crazy (this has been going on since June).

Now I am a very private person. I do not like to share stuff like this, so don't call and expect me to be all chatty about it, cuz I won't do it. But, as Jared pointed out to me the other night, I need to be a "little more open. Not a lot, but a little". So this is my attempt at sharing what is going on in my life.

I am going to a specialist for the Complex Hyperplasia next week, and will update as I know more. In the meantime, I am doing much better now that the intense stomach pain is gone.

And as no blog post is complete without a picture. Here is a picture of Xander with his cousins when he was at Grandma's house in Spokane over the summer.

First day of Kindergarten

Today was Xander's first day of Kindergarten. He was soooo excited. I tried to get the typical "First day of school" photo, but the more I tried to get a good picture, the sillier he got. So here are the pictures.

Luckily, he said Kindergarten was "way better than day care". So it sure is a good thing he likes it.

P.S. If you check out the background of the photos' you can see pics of our entry way and living room.

Rock, Paper Scissors, Bomb, Crayon

The other day while trying to keep Xander entertained and quiet while we were out, I taught him how to play "paper, rock, scissors". He LOVES this games and has evolved it to the following:
  • Paper beats rock
  • rock beat scissors
  • scissors beat paper
  • two scissors beat everything above
  • bomb beat everything above
  • and crayon trumps them all
Don't ask me how a crayon survives a bomb, but it does.
