President Hinckley

So it was just announced that President Hinckley passed away.  While I am, of course, saddened by this news, I am glad to hear he can return to his wife.  Here is what the official press release said:

"He passed away at his home about 7 o'clock this evening with his family was at his side. President Hinckley was 97 years old. He was the 15th president of the church."

JARED'S HOME!!!

I am so excited because my wonderful husband dear came home last night.  Hooray!!!  I love him so much and I am so glad he came home safely.  Hopefully we can enjoy more time with him before he goes back.  I am sure I will post pictures and stories later (like how he went to a whore house for a massage).  But for now, I am just excited he is home.

Home again, Home again gigitty gig.

I made it home from Boise last night.  It was a really fun trip, and I am so grateful to Ang and her family for allowing me into their home for almost a week.  We had a lot of fun, mostly just hanging out.  Kathleen had a dance recital while I was there, and we had some people over for milkshakes, which is always fun.  Then Monday, instead of going home into a snow storm, Ang let me stay one more day, so we made Kathleen an upholstered headboard.  And thanks to Ang, here are some pictures:

Here Xander and Cody are playing on Cody's car.  They loved to take turns riding it, and pushing each other, then falling over and off of it.  They were so cute together all weekend:

Here is the headboard we did for Kathleens room.  It really has the perfect colors in it.  We couldn't have found a better matching fabric if we tried.

Tuesday on my way home I stopped by my sister Leisa's house.  I hadn't seen her house yet.  It is sooo cute!!!  I love it.  We went out to lunch, then to a craft store.  It was fun to see her, even if it was only for a little bit.

I got home last night, and we were finally able to video chat with Jared again.  Xander was REALLY shy around his dad, and wouldn't show Dad his new tricks he learned this weekend.  (3 more days until he comes home).

I really just want to thank Ang and Ryan and Brandon and Kathleen and Cody for allowing me to come play.  It was so much more fun than being home alone, and it was a great chance for Xander to play with his cousins.  Thanks again Spear Family!  You all rock!

I'm in Boise

Just a quick update. I made it to Boise today. Hooray! We don't have much planned, which is perfect. It is just an excuse to let Xander play with his cousins. He and his little cousin Cody are having a blast together. They run around and copy each other, and then they giggle. It is so cute. I'll post more when I get back on Tuesday. In the meantime, no more updates. Caio!

Well, sort-of pictures from China.  I took some screen shots of my iChat session with Jared tonight.  He was showing me some of the cool stuff he bought for me and Xander (he usually waits until he gets home to show us, but I begged him to show me sooner).  Here they are:

I am excited for Jared to come home.  Two more weeks.  Sigh.

In other news, my dad came by today and helped me build shelves in my storage room.  I can now get all my stuff out of the end of my basement and it is nice.  They turned out so perfect.  I absolutely love them! 

I also got (from my parents) a huge section of carpet that their neighbors were going to throw away.  It fits PERFECTLY in my basement "bedroom" area.  One more step to having a "guest" room finished.

I went to my friend Denise's house on Thursday (Colby O'Very's wife).  Her husband is out of town for the weekend, so we lamented together, and let the kids play.  It was fun.

Next week I am going to Boise to play with Jared's sister.  I am excited about that.  Should be a nice break from here.

Well, that really updates my life, so I guess I will go.

Why don't people update more often???

So I'm browsing blogs tonight, and I realize, MOST people haven't updated their blogs in a VERY long time (I feel that if it has been over a week, it is time for an update), but there are people who have gone MONTHS without updating.  Why bother having a blog if you aren't going to keep it up to date.  You may as well stick with snail mail.  I mean come on.  So, if you are one of those people who don't update very often, get on the ball.  And if you do update more regularly, THANK YOU!!!!

Another side note, I got new Victoria's Secret bras last week, and they are AWESOME.  I know it may seem weird to post about bras.  But they just fit so nice, and make my boobs look so perky.  I am excited to get up in the morning and put mine on.  Way to go VS for making such exciting  bra's.  I don't know what I will ever do if I get too big for them, (their largest bra size is DD).  I guess it might give me encouragement to go on a diet.

Jared is still in China.  We have 17 more days to go.  I know all you women who go without your husband frequently offer little sympathy, which if fine.  I'm not looking for sympathy, it just stinks.  Luckily I have kept myself busy.

This weekend I went to my moms house.  I had Sunday dinner with them, then just because I didn't have to hurry home, we stayed the night.  Xander LOVES going to Grandma's house.  His favorite toy this visit: the banana chair (although I can't blame him.  I think banana chairs are freakin' fun to sit in).

Still don't like the snow.  We got about 6-8 inches this weekend.  Luckily for me I have AWESOME neighbors who surprised me with a shoveled drive when I got back from my moms.  I have the best neighbors in the world!

Goodbye Jared...

Jared left this morning for China.  Sigh.  He left during the worst snow storm I had seen around here for a while.  It was NOT fun to drive in.  Luckily we made it there and home safely. 

This China trip was one neither of us were looking forward to, but hopefully (but not likely) it will be his last one.  He comes back in three weeks.  In the meantime I am a single mom.  Luckily we only have one child.

Jared did take the camera with him, so you probably won't get picture updates from me, unless I post something from iChat.

Anyhow, other than that, there is nothing new here.  So later.
