It has been a great summer! At the end of June we moved into a new place. Although we mostly loved where we lived, we were ready to be on the top floor. We only moved about 10 minutes away, but we are now in a new ward and a whole new stake, so it feels a lot different. It was a good move though. Although we almost regretted it when... one night when we were asleep we woke up to our new landlord turning our our bedroom light!!! AHH! Apparently the water heater was leaking downstairs, so he came and tried to knock and scream, but we didn't wake up... so he came into our bedroom. He was really nice about it but still.. not something we want to wake up to!

New Place: It's not as cute on the outside but the inside is pretty great. Now we have vaulted ceilings, a loft, an extra bathroom, more storage space, walk in closets, and we can have a BBQ grill :)

For the fourth of July we decided to hike up Green Mountain. Because of the all the fires there weren't many fireworks, but we still had a great view of the entire valley!
One interesting thing about our new place is that it is close to Columbine High School. In fact, it is in my ward, and one of our sunday school kids goes to school there. We went to see the memorial one day after church since it is about half a mile from our church. It is a beautiful memorial to the victims of the school shooting. It is in a park next to the high school, and really is a lovely place. When you walk up on the hill above it you can see 360 degree views of the Denver Valley.
We also have been meaning to go to Aurora to see the make-shift memorial of the Batman Shooting- but haven't done it yet. It is crazy to live so close to where these famous but awful events have occurred.
It was finally time for another trip home! Mike's family was getting together for a family reunion, so we made a whole trip out of it. I went out on July 31st, and went up to Logan to spend the night with Lucie. She had a baby shower that night, so we went to that, and the next day we went to Bear Lake! It was so much fun to see my good friend, and also fun to take some maternity shots of her :)
Mike flew in that night, so I went back home, and we were able to hang out with my family until we left that Friday for the reunion up at Camp Smokey in Idaho.
We stayed in cabins, ate delicious food, played volleyball, swam in the lake, went to church in Stanley, and just enjoyed being in the outdoors and with family.
Monday came and we headed back to Utah. My family had invited my grandparents and the Petersons to our home for a BBQ, and Mike and I arrived just in time to enjoy it as well! The next morning I took Mike to the airport at about 5. He needed to get back to work, and I decided to stay in Utah until Saturday.
I spent lots of time just hanging out with my family and working on stuff for Dakota's Eagle Scout Court of honor that was on Sunday. I also was able to hang out with Cheryl and Amber, and I also went to my first horse pull with my parents and grandpa. It was long.. but also fun. I had no idea horses could pull so much weight!
As always, it was a great trip! Can't wait to go back for Thanksgiving!
