Koolaid anyone?

My sweet husband got me a scanner!!

I now have a way to save and organize all of our old pictures from before digital days. Scanning just might become my new obsession. Like a lot of people our screen saver is a slide show of our family pictures. I love to see all of the old ones with the new!!! This is my favorite wedding picture.

I think this is the picture we sent out with our invitations. Rob looks so good, check out his old missionary shoes. They crack me up. He bought them in Brazil and had gotten them resoled more than once. It wasn't long after that when Rob's dad took one look at those shoes and took him out to buy some new ones. Looking back, I kind of wish we would have kept the shoes, but at the time I was all too happy to see them go. Actually, I am surprised I didn't burn them.

I did it!

We went to the lake this morning really early to beat the Saturday rush. While we were there I actually got up on a wake board like 5 times!!! Now the goal is to stay up for more than 30 seconds. We didn't even get a picture of it. Oh well, I probably wouldn't have looked as cool as I think I did anyway.

The Pioneer Trek 2008

Rob and I were a Ma and Pa on the poineer trek for our stake. We had a great time and learned so much about our ancestors. We hiked a lot and slept on the ground and got very dirty and had a blast.

Our Family

Our trek family consisted of 5 boys, 6 girls, 1 aunt and Rob and me. We had four 16 year olds, one fifteen year old, and 6 fourteen year olds. Fun! The kids were a lot of fun and they were not very much trouble except for the few who could not help but going searching for their friends, which is understandable.

Happy Father's Day

Here is Rob's Father's day breakfast. Sydney did the waffles and bacon, while Price cracked the eggs, and Marley and Lane struggled to wake up . They did a great job, it turned out so cute!

Can you tell we had to wake him up for this?

Rob is a great dad and husband. I would say we are so lucky to have him around but I had to search far and wide to find such a worthy candidate.

He has blessed my life more than I will ever know! He is a hard worker and is willing to have a good time. Great combo!!

I hurt my ...

This morning Eliza came running up to me crying. She began to say in her little two-year-old way, 'Mommy I hurt my ... my ... my" (all the time she is thoughtful, a bit confused, and looking at her straight arm.) Then she bent her arm and said, "my elbow" and patted it, glad that it didn't actually disappear.

Marley was a pro at knee boarding. It is so fun that our kids are getting old enough to do fun things. Sydney and Marley want to learn to wake board this summer.

I have kind of always thought that when our kids all were old enough to ride a bike we have finally made it. Learning to have fun being drug behind a boat could be considered a similar step. Three down only two to go!!!

Here we are getting the boat ready to launch. My brother, Taylor and his family came with us for the day.

The pictures got mixed up when i was downloading them and I don't have time to fix it. Obviously this one was supposed to be first.

This is Sydney, Ellie and Steel with Price behind Ellie on this "really cool" tube that came with the boat. It is called the UFO. It is supposed to go around in circles with 4 people on it. The only problem is that it took on tons of water so half of the tube would sink and the other half would ride really high and it wouldn't turn. The people on top had a fun ride while the two on bottom felt like they were going under. It took us a while to figure out what was going on so we ended up breaking a rope in the process.

This is the only picture I got of Syd knee boarding. She tried it for the first time on this day and she did great. The next day she complained about how sore she was and had a killer sun burn because we missed her shoulders.

Since Taylor came with us Rob got a chance to wake board and knee board. I haven't learned to drive the boat yet. It makes me a bit nervous.

Rob's mom used to take all of the kids, eight of them, to the lake by herself. Before the kids were old enough, she would grab someone who worked at the marina to back the boat from the trailer while she parked the car. Then she taught her kids to do it while they were young. She even took the kids camping on the lake by herself while Rob's dad worked during the summer. She got teenage boys from the ward to come along and help her set up camp. They loaded the boat up with supplies so there were only a couple of inches left between the top of the boat and the water and stay on the lake for the week. Rob's mom was not a wimp and she was not chicken. She is one of my heroes.

Eliza tends to fall asleep whenever she is on a boat. I guess it is the roar of the engine and the rocking of the boat, she just can't resist.
